So, the handling on everyone`s character was better than the anime, mostly Cabba and the girls, filing up the loose threads. All but one..sigh.

Not even crumbles of peanuts. Wake me up when the decade ends.

Surprised by some of the editing work done by VIZ. It's the same in the printed version

Someone probably got tired erasing that "O" part. And how the heck did they manage to screw up Vegeta's Whis symbol? It wasnt covered by anything

To quote myself:

viewtopic.php?f=25&t=30467&p=1448637#p1448637

I don't get why people think Toppo was stronger than Goku. Beerus ordered Goku to end it, and then Goku obliged and said "I'll enjoy fighting you in the actual tournament, Toppo," because he thought he had a guaranteed win. Then he went for the finish, Toppo saw that Goku left himself open right there and took advantage of that to win.

Super Saiyan God Goku was strong enough to easily block Toppo's punches. SSB Goku is even stronger than that.

Also, if you don't agree with my interpretation, after the fight Toppo tells Goku to ensure he doesn't let his guard down in the actual tournament like he did in their fight. Then he added that if he hadn't taken advantage of the opening he doesn't know if he could've won that.

Toppo isn't a match for Goku when he isn't relaxing.

This was shown on panel
Whis gives Vegeta the same speech about Ultra Instinct that he gave in RoF in the first chapter of the arc
Goku then arrives and asks Whis to give him more of the "special training" and Whis shuts him down saying they need to stick to the bases
Then when Beerus uses UI in the exhibition match, Goku recognizes it
They know about it but don't know how to properly use it. So it'll still come out of nowhere but the manga just made sure to let you know both characters know of it since they skipped RoF. Kinda works better this way since it's been largely forgotten in the anime for 2 whole arcs after RoF until the ToP where it's relevant again

Also, the Toppo part is a weird translation on Viz's part. In Herms' translation, Vegeta asks if Goku let his guard down, and Goku says he did.

See here, this is why Viz shouldn’t be changing the Sound Effects. Then you get bizarro things like Frost with a hole in his head and a blob for Whis’ insignia.

About the Chapter, it was good! Toyotaro’s art keeps getting more amazing, while I’m graetful that the whole “Tingly Back” crap is gone. And yay to Gohan’s Old Gi! He always looked better in Purple than Orange.

Some of you are jumping the gun with the whole "I'm glad the tingly back thing is gone!". We don't know that yet. Caulifla might bring it up when she inevitably fights a U7 Saiyan.

Since I doubt Vegeta will get something new and Gohan didn't get anything in the anime continuity, I strongly believe Gohan using Piccolo's clothes is a sign...

You're right how we don't know. However the transformation was off-screen, it's done. The process at this point doesn't really matter. Logically Cabba just did the same Vegeta did to him(shouldn't be hard Caulifla seems prone to anger) and voilà blonde hair. Toei probably gave weird importance to SSJ and decided to make up an excuse to justify it's ease. Weird knowing their 10 transformations an arc policy.

If it does come up, it's fine. Very Toriyamaesque in my opinion, people made it a way bigger deal than it is. He have a "Super Saiyan bargain sale" line in the manga, that says it all.

People seriously need to stop making Gohan into a bigger deal then he is, he knocked a few people out in the anime, he'll probably do the same in the manga then he's done.
When someone tells you, "Don't present your opinion as fact," what they're actually saying is, "Don't present your opinion with any conviction. Because I don't like your opinion, and I want to be able to dismiss it as easily as possible." Don't fall for it.

It wouldn't be such a big deal to me if he hadn't fallen so horrifically from grace and then flat-out stopped appearing altogether for two whole arcs. There's nothing wrong with wanting to see your second-favorite character mount a heck of a comeback after being treated so terribly. That's one of the reasons I'm so happy for big No. 17 fans; he's been gone for significantly longer, despite never falling from grace, and he's doing great.

Gohan will be the 4th or 5th more important character from Universe 7, based on the anime. This should be the same here, unless Toei gave Freeza/#17 a boost just because and even if they did, I doubt it was in detriment of Gohan with who the anime has a love relationship.

I expect a lengthy battle for him to highlight the result of his training and a few panels here and there. He could get a bit more or a bit less depending how much Toyotarõ likes him.

I'd imagine Toyotarō is rather fond of Gohan-kun, given that he had Gohan become a SSJ4 in Dragon Ball AF back in the day. It was also interesting to me that, in the Revival of F manga, he didn't include Freeza leveling Gohan with a single punch; that doesn't necessarily mean anything, though, as the manga had to be more condensed than the movie.

On the topic of No. 17, I'm a bit concerned for how he'll do in the manga; unlike in the anime, in which he's SSJ Blue tier, he's only SSJ3 tier in the manga (which is still really impressive), so, unless the likes of Agnlasa and Top are scaled down significantly from the anime (which I doubt), I can't see him making it as far in the manga as he has in the anime. I've still got some hope for him, but I've got some nagging doubts that he'll make it to the final three or four Universe 7 fighters.

I think Vegeta will get UI. Didn't Whis and Vegeta foreshadow that when Whis explained to Vegeta that he was thinking too much before he attacks after fighting Beerus?

He might be a bit above SSJ3 level because his fight with Goku wasn't finished leaving room to wonder. Regardless I expect everyone who isn't a "God Tier" character to be nerfed when compared to the anime.

The stronger characters might be facing fatigue by the end to justify weaker foes presenting a challenge, that coupled with tactics. #17 is the perfect candidate to over-perform towards the end of the tournament due to his eternal energy.
