I'm in the generation of fans that started with Toonami, so I totally empathize with the feeling of having "missed the party", experiencing disappointment, and wanting to experience it myself. But I can't, that's how life is. Time is a bitch. The party is over. Kageyama, Kikuchi, and Maeda are off the sauce now; Yanami almost OD'd; Yamamoto got arrested; Toriyama's not going to light trash cans on fire and hang from the chandelier anymore. We can't get the band back together, and even if we could, everyone's either old, in poor health, or calmed way the fuck down. Best we're going to get, and are getting, is a party that's almost entirely devoid of the magic that made the original one so awesome that we even want more.

Mirai wasn't a Gary Stu (term for a male Mary Sue). He recognized his own flaws, was not incredibly powerful in combat, and was not worshipped by all the other characters. *gives him a hug*

I just wish Toriyama had found a way to keep him in the series post-Cell.

I'm kinda glad he wasn't kept around, that way we get to imagine what happens in the original timeline. Plus Mirai Bulma might be lonely??

Throughout my entire fandom, I don't think I've ever thought of having a favorite character.

Hm... I guess I'd have to say Krillin, since he's basically the one "normal" fighter in a series that eventually makes too much use over Saiyans. Toriyama (and I guess whoever the people are who wrote up the movies) seem to give him so much crap to deal with, that you can't help but relate to him more than the stupidly powerful characters out there. And the fact that he's one of the first characters we're introduced to and thus get to see his progress throughout the series is pretty cool, too.

There's also the fact that he actually looks different in the various stages of his life that makes me like him, too. Heck, he's even cool in GT, if only for that last scene in the final episode where he reminisces with Goku at Kame House.

I think a podcast "catch-phrase" can best describe his likable-ness: "He's just a dude"

... at first glance, anyways. Granted, he's not the coolest character in terms of looks (bald gets pretty old pretty fast in my book), but just that he actually grows up with Goku and doesn't let the whole "second banana" status get to him makes him an all around cool guy.

Yeah, I like Kuririn too. I don't think he's really a coward, either. He tries his best, even if he doesn't always have the power to succeed.

Chaozu is another very under-appreciated character. I mean, yeah, I know, he's the lamest power-wise, but so what - I would love to have a Chaozu around. He's loyal and kind and, dare I be girly, awfully cute.

*gasp* Do mine eyes deceive me? XP Someone else who thinks the same as I do? He is my second favorite character, after all~

...Second only to Tenshinhan, in fact; and speaking of whom:

Tenshinhan's the fictional love of my life. ^^ However, when I started watching DBZ on Toonami waaaay back in 1999, Chi Chi became my first favorite character. I thought she was really cool, crazy and obsessive... but cool and tough. I remember watching Dead Zone and seeing that part where Chi Chi tries to prevent Garlic Jr.'s lackeys from taking Gohan. Even though she fails, I thought she was really kickass for doing her best to protect her son.... which is really what she does best, is care about her family... albeit in a rather extreme way. XD Chi Chi's still awesome, especially after (finally!) seeing the later episodes of the original Dragon Ball series. ^^

And Ted Cole's Yamcha pretending that he's in love with her in that episode? Priceless. (I miss Ted Cole!Yamcha...)

I don't when exactly I started liking Tenshinhan. Back then, I referred to Tenshinhan and Chaozu as "The Bald Dude" and "The White Dude", respectively. Uhhh... Anyway, it happened.

The thing I like most about Tenshinhan is his personality. It's cliché, maybe, but I really love the honorable, proud, humble, stubborn types in anime, manga, and books. XP When I found out about his past in DB, I became even more interested in this character. I love his mistakes, his growth, his overall demeanor.
Even when he was being such a horrible guy, his one "link to humanity" was his relationship with Chaozu. I think of it as the original Piccolo/Gohan relationship. Tenshinhan's a big, serious, scowly kind of guy, who honestly cares about this little kid. And that, I find really cute. (It's the whole "girls look for guys who will make good fathers" thing...?)

....There's probably stuff I'm forgetting about. I wasn't being very detailed... XP Oh. And I like how Tenshinhan looks. He's burly. I like burly. And he's got three eyes. That's pretty awesome. (What have we learned here?)

Done(?) being a fangirl now. Thanks for putting up with me~! ^^

Rocketman. :P

Anyways, not my favorite (props to Piccolo), but I appreciate Roshi for being fun(ny) to watch. He can also be a badass old fart when he wants to.
I agree!

favorite charactar? VEGITO!!! it's not the fact that he's one of the most powerfull beings ever thought up by the human mind, but it's just that he reminds me of a well educated version of sonic the hedghog, with a little uberness thrown into the mix. 8)

I'd be giving him a warning tip about his poor typing and grammar on these boards than anything. Else he'll get the warning firsthand from Mike. This isn't *that* big a necropost.

So anyway since I'm already here, kingvegito, one of the rules here is to make your posts with proper punctuation and grammar. Just giving you a heads-up. 8)
