2. If you have “DUAL Spirit Ball” and Yamcha has “Spirit Ball” you can dual it.... But Yamcha can also equip “DUAL spirit ball”

Is there any difference at all to this? Any benefit or downside at all?
1) I don't know for sure if using it helps the meter, but I'd be willing to bet it does. I've been using it constantly in the PQ's anyway, and it seems to be moving it up pretty fast. Overall though, it could just be that this bar is a hell of a lot easier to fill up than the previous Mentor bar. Thank Kami for that too - it took me FOREVER to get every mentor maxed before.

I'm still curious too if the new bar leads to anything other than a higher damage output for their particular Dual Ultimate. Guess I'll find out soon enough. Anyway -

2) I think equipping your partner/mentor character with the DUAL version allows them to also have the option of starting up the DUAL Ultimate, so that it's not down to just you trying to start it up.
I figured they might initiate, although I haven't seen it, but does it do less damage or cost more? I mean you have to pay to unlock it so it makes sense it could just be better all round, but I assumed there'd be a difference

Edit: thinking about it , it could just be so you can do it while playing as them! Otherwise you could never do it when not a CAC! Mystery solved possibly.

I tested most of the Dual Ultimates and gotta say, some are even cooler this way! :)

The best ones for me is Future Gohan's One-Handed Kamehameha, Gotenks' Kamikaze Ghosts and Dodoria's Dodoria Launcher.

Hit's Tokitobashi is still weak but since Dual Ultimate starts with a punch/kick, you'll hit the opponent easier than that freaking horrible range the regular Tokitobashi has. Oh, and now you can use it with the cost of three bars instead of five this way. So if you like Hit's technique regardless of its damage, go for it.

Honorable mention: Android 16's Hell Flash. It was always a cool and gorgeous technique, but hitting the opponent was a matter of luck. Now you can see more columns of fire, making it even gorgeous than before. Hitting the opponent is still a matter of luck, but if you want to have a fancy technique for you and others to see, go for it.

Its offline now. I’m still looking for some other videos but lets just say that the story was amazing!
Damn, was hoping for an archived version...
I recommend waiting for it to drop. It's tons of fun, with tons of different paths on the Tokipedia. Most of it well worth to experience in-game for the first time.
Due to reasons of my PC being an asshole, I will be unable to play the DLC for a while, so I'm okay to spoil myself.

That's fine, then. To be honest, the main story isn't anything to write home about. It's once you get a bit deeper into the Tokipedia that you get the good stuff, so you should still find something you might miss on the internet.

They can initiate it, I've had them do it a few different times. The neat thing I've noticed with that is that it doesn't cost you any ki, I still had a full bar after the DUAL Ultimate was performed that way.

I didn't even think about that though, I hadn't tried to play as the versions you can tinker with their moves. Huh.

I think earlier in the thread (and maybe one of the update things when you first start the game up again? Can't remember for sure), someone says that all you need is to max Whis's friendship bar (and likewise have completed all his missions I'd assume), and be Lv. 90, and you'll get the skill. I don't think you even have to be on a Saiyan character to unlock it (just have to be a Saiyan to use it of course).

Can't confirm for sure since I already had everyone maxed so it would have popped for me regardless, but I think it's just Whis and be Lv. 90.

As for why it's easier, they likely realized how mind-numbingly long it takes to max everyone. A pity they couldn't have realized that prior to my brain leaking out the side of my ears though.
Well, I can confirm. Prior to yesterday, I only had Goku's friendship meter filled. It took no time at all to get Whis' bar filled through the PQ technique & level the friendship up to get it.
Only dubs that matter are DB, Kai, & Super. Nothing else.

Just maxed out Goku's new bar and apparently all that really does is make the Dual Ultimate stronger. No new marks, not even a new dialogue piece between him and you when he's your mentor. That's a bit disappointing, you'd think they'd add at least a dialogue thing. Ah well.

I'd, honestly, still recommend playing the story mode of the first game if you're on a console that has it. For one, if you try to go back at a later point, some things are frustrating in the first game that aren't in the second. Then there's the fact that you can frontload your character with some of the best moves & clothes from the first game, which'll mitigate early game frustrations because the ones they give you off the bat are pretty shit. It makes the entire first portion of levels that much easier to deal with. By the end of the first game, I had "Maximum Charge", which is the best charge move in the game, "Vanishing Ball", "Big Bang Attack," a move which seems like it was nerfed in 2, "Kamehameha," which I replaced with the "Kaioken" variant afterwards, "Final Flash," "Super Vanishing Ball," & "Psychic Move," which helped me big time both early in the game, as well as get used to how the sequel controls slightly differently than the first, like how the combat system was refined. I also had the Time Patroller Suit early on, which is a good outfit & I would've not have gotten it otherwise because I hate those stupid school missions.
The only thing I don't like is that you can't transfer "Super Saiyan" as well (especially since they refined the skill system so it's no longer an Ultimate, but that's easy to get back once you know how. Wish it weren't an optional thing that isn't spelled out to you & more of a character progression thing that you get BEFORE Namek so it can be more cinematic when you fight Frieza & Cooler with Goku, but whatever. That's a gripe I've had since the first game & I doubt they'll change it in 3.
Plus, you can have your own created character exported over to 2 from the first game, which I found cool, even though you SHOULD be able to control them &/or use them in PQs & multiplayer, plus be able to alter their moveset similar to the mentors, since they're your legacy character & that would make sense to do, which is a thing I hope they fix for 3. Also, I feel the story of the first game is stronger since it was fresher & had room for improvements, which puts a detriment to 2's story since it follows around 75% of the same story beats, but if you wanna start fresh in 2, go ahead. I just think starting at the first game is better for the overall experience. It also explains the background stuff of the setting, since the second game expects you to know some things going in.

One other thing I think 2's missing is a currency exchange to turn Zeni into TP medals, but that's about it.
Thank you for the input. I don't have the first Xenoverse and don't really plan to get it. Personally what I'll be missing won't bothering me with the exception of the story, right now at least there's a chance I'll end up loving the game. We'll see.

I bought the game when it was a part of a digital sale almost 2 years ago with the season pass (which I still don't get why it didn't have SS4 Vegeta as a download, but whatever), so it was pretty easy for me to get it because I knew the sequel was coming out & I didn't wanna miss a thing in the overall story. I'd say it was a good call, personally, but then again I'm the kind of person where I get into a series, if possible, by starting at the beginning if the sequels are direct ones to the last games.

Any EU players confirmed when it goes live on Xbox? Wondering whether to stay up late or go to bed early

Edit: downloading it now even though its 22:44 on the 27th.

You have to go into the double pack of the 2 new extra lacks you bought, it's now listing the other one in there, click it and install!

Anyone figure out how we can dress our instructors in alternate outfits rather than just palette swapping their normal clothes yet?

As for the story of the paid DLC's story...
I like Fu so far. He's interesting as a character. Wonder how we'll be able to do the second timeline,
since I inadvertently started on Fu's versions of events, so I'll play those out. Also, DOES the story change based on the mentor we have? Because that's cool if it does.
The dialogue is weird, but I enjoy it nonetheless. Goku literally saying to Vegeta, "no need to get your panties in a wad," is literally the most weird thing I've heard from Sean Schemmel's Goku since the unedited lines in the Kaia TFC dub of Goku saying that he'll help Old Kai grope Bulma's boobs. However, the dialogue boxes are weird & have a bit of a disconnect with how the actors had to match the Japanese timings in some spots, yet the dialogue boxes didn't get altered to match them. There's also them trying to cram the extra dialogue from when you play the events in the altered timelines that are weird, since they try to really cram them in rather than choosing which dialogues would fit best & be the most fun. Plus, the audio mixing is TERRIBLE,
even more than the last DLC's, since you can't hear the cutscene-type dialogue over the grunts & attacks when you're fighting. That should be the other way around.
The AI is also really bad for your instructor, where it should be at least good. Goku died pretty quickly against 17, 18, & 13 while I was fighting Cell. I just wish that during story missions we could at least heal them with our healing items like a good RPG usually does, which is a gripe I continue to have with this game.
All in all, pretty much as I feel for the original game; average but a good average, but at least they're being a lot more creative on this one.
Only dubs that matter are DB, Kai, & Super. Nothing else.

Where are you doing that exactly? Like via your PS4, or via a computer? I keep checking both, and the only thing that shows up for me in the Extra Pack Set is just general info about what that was, no link to Extra Pack 2 to download. Only Extra Pack 1 shows up individually too...
