Pink caption: Big discovery of the dream data!
Revealed herewith are the original sketches and designs done by Akira Toriyama sensei himself for the original episodes of the TV series. The story and worldview of the TV series were constructed using these memo as foundation. Though they are just memo, the characters and worldview are nevertheless designed from here. This is especially for the history of the Saiyajin, for which it is the important core for the continuously expanding world of Dragonball. As a side note, since Toriyama sensei lives in Nagoya, such memo items are often sent to the Toei Animation Studios via fax.
Coloured picture's pink caption: Super valuable! A colour sample of Toriyama sensei's works!
Blue captions in the middle: Paikuhan who appeared during the "Otherworld Greatest Tournament".
Caption below the coloured picture: Cell's colours are not known in the monochrome original work. Thus for anime use, (Toriyama) sensei coloured a copy of the original work from Chapter 362. Judging from the time, could this be the first completely coloured Cell?!
Bottom left: Design of the Saiyajin and Tsufurujin who lived on Planet Prant (The older name of Planet Vegeta). (Comments like) "Due to the strong gravity force, they are half the size of the Saiyajin," and "Scouters were the initial inventions of the Tsufurujins" can be seen.
Bottom right: Some of the Toriyama memos!! The original designs are plentiful, (as seen from comments like) "Saibaiman (Cultivars) were created through biotechnological knowledge of Saiyajin scientists", "Yamucha holds a part-time job as a baseball player", "The snake sake contains one huge snake", etc.!!
@Herms: You can check if this is accurate or not, I kinda rushed through this one.
I can't translate the other scans because they are not big enough to read.
I would love the "Kiri" scan Herms.
Thanks.
