We are at that time again, the month when we (well, most Japanese fans) celebrate some of the characters on their own days. Herms already compiled a list but since I have never seen anyone talked about it here, maybe it is time to finally dedicate a thread to this fun "event" among fans of the franchise. If you still don't know what's going on, as per Herms's words: "The joke is that in Japanese these dates' numbers sound (kinda vaguely sorta) like the name of the character." Cool, huh?
Today is Bardock's Day. Time to rewatch all his appearances throughout the franchise and appreciate the great character that he is.
I do remember Saiyan Day being on August though, maybe there are two dates?

Anyway, which one you take/would like to take as a day off?

Where's Vegeta day ? and are these official or made up by fans based on the day they first showed up ?
July 9th 2018 will be remembered as the day Broly became canon.

Vegeta does not have one as his name is too literal, but you can celebrate him on Saiyan Day.

So Goku's "day" happens to be exactly what is technically Piccolo's birthday. May 9th was jokingly called King Piccolo day by the fandom, now it gets overshadowed by Goku, too. Man, Piccolo just can't catch a break

It can still work: August 31st is the Day of the Vegetable in Japan!

What's the number pun for May 9th?

I'll make sure to sip a cup of delicious tea with my closest friends and plot the eradication of Humanity on September 6th.

At his core Zamasu is good like Shin, though I guess you could say he was so fastidious that it backfired. But you know, for this "Future Trunks Arc" you had to depict Zamasu and Trunks' inner conflict, right? If this was back when I was drawing the manga myself then I doubt if I could have done it. I mean, I'm not very good at depicting the characters' psychology on the page. So this all came together because now I only have to think up the story. [...] On my own, I doubt I would have been able to express Zamasu's fall to the dark side.

Hit Day? Oh my, that's amazing.
What a good way to kick off the new year then with best boi's day.

It seems there is a Gogeta Day too. Never heard or seen that one before!
Even stretching, it would be more like King Vegeta, Vegeta and Tarble Day. But Vegeta does not have a Day for himself.

Goku didn't die in GT. The show sucked him off so much, it was impossible to keep him in the world of the living, so he ascended beyond mortality.

I'm just about done with the concept of reboots and making shows that were products of their time and impactful "new and sexy" and in line with modern tastes and sensibilities. Let stuff stay in their era and give today's kids their own shit to watch.

I wonder if someone has tried to use any of these days as religious holidays for time off work.
I may try this since my boss is a giant weeb.

Don't know about those ones. Can you provide some evidence?

Vegeta and Bulma Day doesn't seem that popular, but Yamcha definitely has his day too, and I didn't know it. Thanks to bring them up!

Vegeta x Bulma in general isn't that popular in Japan... compared to Goku x Chi-Chi at least.

That is weird, considering how they got together and the various scenes with them together, I would think they are popular as a couple.
