Hmmm... Rossum snags the roll of Bulma eh? Well I think she is a far better fit than that one Mexican actress, Camila Sodi. I am pleased with yet another casting for the DB film.snaku wrote:Emmy Rossum is officially Bulma.

Geez, news on this just keeps comin'! Do you think their main objective right now will be to just do a couple scenes in order to at least get a trailer out? Just a thought.
Also, did you notice in the article confirming Rossum's role that they mention the film being shot in Mexico and LA? I guess no more Canada, then?

I knew that for Bulma, from the begining. And I really should not repeat what I think of that choice...
@Xyex,
NOBODY NEVER SAID MOVIES ARE MAKING FOR FREE!??!?!
Of course that the point of making anything in business is earning that GODDAMN WRETCHED MONEY!!!
But there are two kinds of movies:
1. The movies which ONLY objective is profit, and they don't even care how it will turn out, they just mix it as fast as they can so they can sell it sooner... Or translation - Hollywood movies.
2.Movies where creator put his soul effort and style in it...
Also I am trying to find the logic in this sentence:
Personally for me, everyone who can possibly want this movie is not DBZ fan at all, he probably saw just another "Awesome anime" in it... So I can say the same for you + I can find the logic in it.
And that is not the only thing that takes to ruin it, but it is the pretty much most horrible way to ruin it...
@SSj Kaboom
I appreciate your optimism, but it just can't help, you just don't understand that I(& maby someone else too) can't calm down so easily...persons are different...
yeees I know!? aaaand?
I sad that sarcastically, I meant "he just miss those things to look like just-another-complete-amercian-fancy-gay-cool-boy-in-just-another-fucking-teenage-movie!!!!!!"
(which would only be cool if he had a orange-yellow cloud painted on it, and named it "Nimbus")
THAT would be cool to you?!!? Are you serious?!
How the hell actors can be all
sharp-edged?
so spiky & stable hair?(though hair can be done theoretically)
Trianglish eyes?
little pointy noses?
big sharp-edged muscles? etc...
That is far most important aspect for me...

I mean if the one who is ready to die for the sake of his favorite thing ever, didn't liked series at the first place?! than What the hell you liked!?And if that's all it takes to 'ruin' DBZ for you then stop watching the series and go away, you never liked it in the first place

It is not far from reality and I know it is sad...Even as a sarcastic comment that's still just sad. Very very sad.

ErrrrrAlso, Goku probably has no need for a scooter (which would only be cool if he had a orange-yellow cloud painted on it, and named it "Nimbus"), would barely know how to work a cell phone, and probably wouldn't sport a necklace either

First and foremost I thought on drawing style! And then on everything else...For visual style, we've seen so far:

sharp-edged?
so spiky & stable hair?(though hair can be done theoretically)
Trianglish eyes?
little pointy noses?
big sharp-edged muscles? etc...

I don't even know what to think of this anymore.
The one major thing I avoid like the plague in fanfiction is AU's that take place in highschool.
And yet where does the movie take place?!
Stupid. Stupid highschool.
I just hope this isn't too embarrassing of a movie. And I hope they limit their "highschool" time to as bare a minimum as they possibly can.

On hiatus.
...What? DTX, I think at this point you're just being delusional.
I don't even know what this is supposed to mean...
But I hope you're not implying that live-action characters have to look EXACTLY, detail-for-detail like their cartoon/comic/anime counterparts to be appealing. You going to demand that they only exist in two dimensions next?
@Chu: Please deary, calm down. The onset of the Buu saga happened to have a highschool setting at the beginning too, but it was nothing more than a starting point for the rest of the story's events. I sincerely doubt the highschool element will be any more than a mere initial backdrop for the characters.

Your grammar and wording is a mess, so would you mind elaborating on whatever point you were struggling to make here? How the hell actors can be all

It would, and I am. It would be funny if it happened, and a nice little nod to the original material, since the prospect of the ACTUAL Kinto'Un being in the movie is not likely.THAT would be cool to you?!!? Are you serious?!(which would only be cool if he had a orange-yellow cloud painted on it, and named it "Nimbus")
I most certainly beg to differ, good sir! In fact, I might go so far to suggest the opposite, that fans should accept and try to enjoy this movie.Personally for me, everyone who can possibly want this movie is not DBZ fan at all

I find your optimism refreshing Kaboom - I can't find much good to say about the movie as of now, but you are right in saying we don't know how good/bad it is until we actually see it. I'm just keeping my hopes low.

This Vegeta DTX guy is cracking me up with his anti-live action movie avatar.
Honestly, I don't care what they do, no matter what this will never be DB. Live action and Dragonball just don't mix. The story sounds ridiculous...namek ninjas? Oi.
I really don't see the appeal, or where she's "perfect" for her. Then again, I think this whole thing is pretty lame, so I probably won't be happy no matter what.JohnnyBoy_Z wrote:Emmy Rossum has the perfect face and body to play Bulma.

First of all, you really need to work on your typing. Reading a post should not be cause for a headache due to grammar....@Xyex,
NOBODY NEVER SAID MOVIES ARE MAKING FOR FREE!??!?!
Of course that the point of making anything in business is earning that GODDAMN WRETCHED MONEY!!!

That said, your points are invalid. Hollywood movies are just that, movies. A lot of good movies come out of Hollywood. A lot of sucky movies come out of Hollywood. A lot of good movies come out of everywhere that isn't Hollywood. A lot of sucky movies come out of everywhere that isn't Hollywood. See the trend?
Also, claiming that this move wont have any soul or effort in it just because you don't want to see the movie made? You should go work for Fox then, and become friends with Tom Rothman as he did everything he could to kill the X-Men movies because he thought the same thing about them.
If a live action movie can ruin the series for you, then yes. It means you didn't like the series in the first place. Why? Because the movie will have no effect on the series at all, good or bad, ever and the only thing 'ruined' for you is your perfect little bubble.I mean if the one who is ready to die for the sake of his favorite thing ever, didn't liked series at the first place?! than What the hell you liked!?
Personally for me, everyone who can possibly want this movie is not DBZ fan at all, he probably saw just another "Awesome anime" in it... So I can say the same for you + I can find the logic in it.
And that is not the only thing that takes to ruin it, but it is the pretty much most horrible way to ruin it...
Me? I want the movie, I want to see the movie, I expect to enjoy the movie. Why? Because I love Dragonball, I love to see other people's takes on Dragonball, I enjoy all things that are Dragonball, and I understand that even if something related to Dragonball is awful the series, as a whole, remains unaffected. As does my love of the series. Even if this movie is a billion times worse than the worst movie ever made it wont ruin Dragonball for me in the least. That is a fan. That is someone that likes Dragonball. You, sir, are neither.
Are you kidding? Do you not realize just hilariously awesome it would be for Goku to have a yellow scooter with "Nimbus" emblazaned on the side? I would love to see that because it would be a hella-awesome nod to the series. One of those nice little "Well, we couldn't work in Nimbus but we didn't forget it!" touches that just makes you smile.(which would only be cool if he had a orange-yellow cloud painted on it, and named it "Nimbus")
THAT would be cool to you?!!? Are you serious?!
So... if I dicphered this properly.... you hate the movie because it looks nothing like the anime/manga and would still hate it even if ti was written by Akira Toriyama himself and had the greatest actors on the planet and became the best movie of all time.... just because it doesn't look like the anime/manga. Riiiiiiight.First and foremost I thought on drawing style! And then on everything else...

And lastly, Chuquita, just because it has a highschool backdrop to start with doesn't mean it's going to have anything to really do with the highschool. I've got a fanfic with the characters in highschool that could have easily been done without the school since it barely even mentions/shows the school but I used it as a meeting grounds and focal point to kick start the story.

@Xyex
I am sorry for may hasty and bad grammar.
I LOVE(ADMIRE) DBZ! I too like everything about it and I too wanna enjoy all things that are DB, BUT DB! NOT THAT ARE HOLLYWOOD BULLSHIT!!!!!!!
If it is not like DBZ in most of aspects, than it is not DBZ at all, which does not mean it must be bad.
However If original creators change something, it can be better of course(though today that is really rare case) but if some stupid greedy humans from Fox want to change it in their pure-commercial profitable way than it will be crap of course.
BUT in this case, I don't know how can this be going better?
and this info proved that, not only this movie is not DBZ in any aspect, but that this is one big parody...which is actually horror for me...
So you understand? if you love and want something soo much different than DBZ and totally accept it as DBZ than:
1.you don't like DBZ like it really is, you just like one naked story and nothing else(not even that because this movie screwed up even story...)
2.you have very very low perception...
But I still respect your love for DBZ, because you obviously like DBZ in some way, but that way is obviously not the same like the mine.
After all my definition of fan is this:
"The one who truly & purely love something, regardless of number of wallpapers, action figures, and other stuff..."
So probably you are fan even for my definition, but just like I said, we don't like DBZ for the same reason.
That should be the end of this confusion.
I am sorry for grammar...
No I don't say live action have to look EXACTLY detail-for-detail like animated ones, I just simply say LIVE ACTION SHOULD NOT BE MADE AT ALL BECAUSE OF IT! Simple and clear...But I hope you're not implying that live-action characters have to look EXACTLY, detail-for-detail like their cartoon/comic/anime counterparts to be appealing. You going to demand that they only exist in two dimensions next?

It is not about that AFFECTING THE SERIES!? IT WILL AFFECT THE SPIRIT OF DBZ!!!!!!!!!!If a live action movie can ruin the series for you, then yes. Because the movie will have no effect on the series at all, good or bad, ever and the only thing 'ruined' for you is your perfect little bubble.

Erm...he's not a mod I don't think (if he is then please don't kill me), so he couldn't ban you. Seriously though, it is a little late. Unless something serious happens, the film's gonna happen since it's this far along.

I also hope it won't suck too much... when it comes out, I'll definitely go see it though. Even if it does suck. I'm going for laughs. XD
I was also thinking about Bulma hitting Goku with the car. They definitely should keep those small nods to the original series.
Will there be a Muten Roshi...?!
Maybe he'll be their teacher... And has Bulma for detention all the time!
