Yeah, I worked up the price at the time, and I think it was cheaper on a per movie basis to get that as opposed to the singles released at the time. And it includes the unreleased DB movie #1. It was after that came in that I decided to buy ALL the singles. So I started grabbing them on pre-order for the DB singles (at 25% off each) and grabbing whatever DBZ single was onsale as well for roughly the same %-age off.Vekurotto wrote:If that isn't lucky I don't know what is. I had to get mine for $250, used, with just the DVDs.ect5150 wrote: I bought the set new from Amazon.jp last November when it was 40% off.

Better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid than to open it and remove all doubt.

I know this is probably a total noob question, but I got tired of looking through a shit load of bad websites and pages of threads so here goes:
What exactly is necessary to watch the dragon box singles on an American TV?
All I want is a nice simple answer, I don't want to do any hacking or rewiring to my DVD player if at all possible, so if there is a region free or whatever DVD player that runs perfectly fine on a American TV, or if you have any other suggestions, point me the way.
Also, is the shipping outrageous on Amazon.jp, because I found three singles I wanted for about 83 bucks, but since I didn't have an account I couldn't find out a shipping estimate.
Anyway, Thanks guys.

Damn, Funi made Gotenks's jacket a whole different color. Funi's colors are brighter, but the remastered colors just look so much sharperjjgp1112 wrote:I have a request. Can someone post a comparison shot between the Dragon Box and Funi release for Movie 8? (the Broly transformation scene)
While I was waiting, I made a comparison shot of the pic ECT posted. Jesus, it was frustrating as hell aligning them. Here it is (the wrinkly lines were from having to resize the D-Box pic):

If this set somehow isn't sold out in 10 weeks, I'll definitely buy it. (10 weeks because I only have about 100$ right now, and I'll have 300$ in that long if I don't buy anything.) Just wanted to mention it. Extremely unlikely, but still... And while I don't actually live in the UK, Norway is pretty close.Narutoball wrote:I'm selling my dragon box to UK (maybe europe or even USA) for £150 ($300) its the movie set in perfect condition including everything such as scouters. Is this the full un-cut version, and also is this with english subs or is it english dubbed?SSJToreto wrote:Narutoball wrote:I'm selling my dragon box to UK (maybe europe or even USA) for £150 ($300) its the movie set in perfect condition including everything such as scouters. Yes, it's un-cut, seeing as it's the original Japanese version. No dubs, no subs.saiyanprincess wrote:Is this the full un-cut version, and also is this with english subs or is it english dubbed?Narutoball wrote:I'm selling my dragon box to UK (maybe europe or even USA) for £150 ($300) its the movie set in perfect condition including everything such as scouters. I might be interested.Narutoball wrote:Its still for Sale at the moment if anyone is interested. For $300, Looking at shipping costs is quite ridiculous since the item weighs abut 2.2kg. But if anyone is interested at all please send a PM
The series doesn't start with the arrival of Raditz. Stop being lazy and watch Dragonball.
Interesting... I thought my fascination with dbz was over..
Well, I will buy as soon as I have official FUNi subs in .srt format.
If this has been done please post or PM me.
If this has not been done then can someone please be nice enough to run SubRip on the FUNi movies so that we can have subtitles?
Here is a link to info about SubRip http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive ... subrip.cfm
I wouldn't mind having Ocean Groups voices from dbz movies 1-3 as well but I know better than to ask for someone to give me the actual audio from those movies.

Get yourself one of these. I own it and I have to say it's awesome, it even plays the Australian R4 DVDs perfectly.
Edit: Oh man, I just realized this reply is insanely late. Oh well, it's still a good option for anyone who wants to watch their import DVDs.
Trans rights, now!

There are quite a few (i.e. Dr. Slump, Kinnikuman, etc...), but nothing so elaborate for One Piece or Naruto, since they're still in syndication. When the series are over, I'm sure they'll see similar DVD/Blu-ray boxes.
Alright thanks. I noticed that the Dr. Slump movie box was also made in 16:9 format, I guess Toei didn't just do that for Dragonball, or maybe it's just for Toryamas work.Hujio wrote:There are quite a few (i.e. Dr. Slump, Kinnikuman, etc...), but nothing so elaborate for One Piece or Naruto, since they're still in syndication. ALL movies are released in 16:9 in Japan, as it is the industry standard.SSj_Rambo wrote:Alright thanks.
