Season 3 in the Flashback. The self-contradicting flashback if ya know what I mean.
Be grateful the filler in Dragon Ball doesn't suck like the 3rd arc of Rurouni Kenshin.

Ah, in the actual series. I thought he was referring to the special itself. No wonder I didn't find anything. My bad.

Right you are.

Still, if I remember correctly (the last time I watched the special dubbed was when I had it on VHS) his dialog in that scene still sounds a little like he's not just standing up for the Saiya-jins, but also the assorted weirdos behind him.

Yeah, I think they actually have him say something like "c'mon men, he can't tell us what to do anymore." Oi.

Ugh.

Well, I have a video of the eyecatches and some video clips, but youtube is doing site maintenance, so I'll have them posted in a while.

Yeah, Youtube maintenance is great.

I swear all they do is delete as many of the things I enjoy as they can during the downtime.

I had no idea they were newly added, but there was no point. I thought FUNimation was over that silly no talking = bad mindset they had back in 2000.
I agree...The added lines are god awful.

Quick clip of what Burdock says to Freeza at the end of the special. Pretty easy to misunderstand what he means.

Thanks a lot Moon_Doggie, those look quite neat!, I wish they were on the original releases.

I don't think I'll be picking up any of Funimations "remastered" movies/specials until they hit Blu ray, I figure if I'm stuck with widescreen, I might as well get the HD versions.

I think it's just the choice of words, and the animation, Bardock uses "We" a lot, and with the way he's drawn, with his arms stretched outward, it sort of gives the impression the "We" he's talking about, is everyone around him at the time.

Thats my two cents anywho.

Oh, I get it...Ya, I guess I just never thought of that because I always knew he was talking about the Saiyans.

Ha I see what you mean, it almost looks like Funi is trying to somewhat justify their mistake back in the Freeza saga.

I got this the first day it came out (along with Season 4, both for $45 which was a good deal in my opinion) and...wow. I couldn't finish watching the Bardock Special, I gritted my teeth through the Trunks Special, and I watched like 3 episodes off the Season set. The sound quality in itself is pretty bad in my opinion. I'm glad I have it, but still. I remember one time when they showed the Bardock special on Cartoon Network and I watched it. It was actually my first time. And in the end, they had a slow, calming, song which sounded pretty good. So I go all the way to the end of the Bardock special and bam, it's something completely different.

As for the Trunks special, even though I saw it before, I never even noticed until I saw it again that it contradicts the series. Very weird. That's pure laziness.

The Bardock/Trunks set looks amazing, why can't the Season Sets look like this?
Yamcha: Do you remember the spell to release him - do you know all the words?
Bulma: Of course! I'm not gonna pull a Frieza and screw it up!
Master Roshi: Bulma, I think Frieza failed because he wore too many clothes!

Didn't you use to defend the season sets? What happened to you, now you are a uber a-hole and rip into things that aren't even a big deal. And if you have a problem with the english dub then just watch it in Japanese. It's not hard. You also don't even explain why you "couldn't finish it" you just make random exclamations without any back up.

Okay, first of all, I call it like I see it. I never defended the sets and said they were the greatest things out there. Just worth the buck you pay for it. And I do like the dub, and the Japanese. I like both. What I jokingly couldn't finish was the sentence, "the way it was meant to be seen." Geez, a guy just can't win with some people lol I was for it, everyone had a problem with it, I'm against it, I'm getting heat for that too. Sheesh.

I agree. I can't stand the eyecatchers. They can get really annoying, especially when you watch several episodes in a row.

Am I one of the few who dislikes them? I honestly can't see the point of them on a DVD release. All they do is to take you out of the show and needlessly distract you for 10 seconds, indicating a non existing commercial break.
