1. I have the Imperfect, Perfect Cell and Cell Games sagas on the original DVDs from Funi.

2. I have the "Triple Strike" set from Funi. (First 3 DBZ movies)

More cash I can save up to buy something I actually need!
Next quest: Buy the Super: Broly and Super Hero Blurays, also Daima whenever that releases in the states. Also the Super Manga!

They were both equally bad, I think. Menza's music for that scene in Dead Zone was terrible, and coupled with Stephanie Nadolny's annoying "Ha"-ing and "Hoo"-ing throughtout the whole frikkin' sequence (even when her character wasn't on screen) was just too much to bear. It sucked because Dead Zone was the first DragonBall movie I had ever seen, and was my first exposure to the original music. To see that sequence butchered was just painful. It's a situation where the phrase "murdered my childhood" actually applies.

Nathan Johnson's music for that scene in World's Strongest was just embarrassing. Just random instruments blended together in the hopes of making a decent piece of music. The animation makes it absolutely clear that a song is supposed to be playing. It's almost like taking a song out of a Disney movie; there's just nothing to replace it with. The only good thing about it was that FUNi actually kept the voice actors quiet during that scene.

You probably confused it with the "Broly:Triple Threat" box set.

Was that set put out because of Broly's popularity?, or because Funimation doesn't do many NTSC movie boxsets?

Probably partly because of the first reason, and partly because three movies seems to be their typical boxset number, which he just happens to have the same number of movies.

The cover art is nice, but then again, I think that the cover art and art in general (booklets, etc.) were good from day one. Mainly because they look like something that was ripped off the Dragon Box lol

I wonder if they'll do the two for $45 deal with these...
Yamcha: Do you remember the spell to release him - do you know all the words?
Bulma: Of course! I'm not gonna pull a Frieza and screw it up!
Master Roshi: Bulma, I think Frieza failed because he wore too many clothes!

I will definitely be getting season five. As I am trying to get the whole series in a consistent release. If funimation for some reason cancels these, I will send them a bomb, because that's bullshit.

Also, if they do port the series to Blu-Ray, then it better be all the episodes in one box set for a couple hundred bucks, otherwise forget it, I am not collecting season sets again, especially when all they have to do is port the non down converted episodes onto Blu-Ray discs.

I couldn't disagree more (if you're talking about the season sets), they are a layout nightmare, the artwork is cropped, the spines (in the PAL release) don't even match, Funi's original UUE artwork had much more effort put into it, it's like this time they just got the kid that fetches them coffee to do the covers.

(However the new movie double features look okay)

I doubt it.
The series doesn't start with the arrival of Raditz. Stop being lazy and watch Dragonball.

Erm...I thought it would be obvious that the artwork from the Dragonbox and the 'season' sets are really different. Much more detail is put into the Dragonbox artwork. The artwork we see for the booklets and covers for the season sets are ripped from promotional artwork for video games etc. from Japan I believe. I think they look decent though.

I think it's the best part of the presentation of the Season sets.

Too bad they're still trying to follow this stupid sagas thing instead of releasing the episodes. If you didn't know, season 5'll end on the episode when Cell tells trunks about how he's reviving the Budokai. *shakes fists* Funimation!!
Be grateful the filler in Dragon Ball doesn't suck like the 3rd arc of Rurouni Kenshin.

That's not too bad is it? The Cell arc is pretty long anyways. But wait a minute, assuming that season 6 will have the entire Cell Games contained in one set; that leaves season 6 with how many episodes?

The Cell Games saga alone has 29 episodes, I believe. Enough for it's own set.

It could do the Otherworld, or whatever Funi calls it, tournament making the set 34 episodes, which IMO is more acceptable.

Then if say we go from Gohan goes to high school up till they release Buu, that's 32 episodes...

From Buu being hatched until Gohan shows back up to fight Buu, 32 episodes...

Final episodes 28...

Eh? Maybe? They seem like logical plot breaks...

I don't know about the Other World Tournament. They did release it a season after the Cell Games. When coming out in the US, they showed the Cell Games, had their long break, and then started running the Other World Tournament after a break, so I don't know if it'll be in the same set as the Cell Games. Man I"ll never forget it, they showed like the 2nd or 3rd episode of the Other World Tournament on September 11, 2001.

Yeah, that was weird...they ended up cutting out one of the Saiyaman episodes involving a burning building and a crashing plane...

(Also: if it wasn't for a Cartoon Network holiday special, then the episode where Cell is killed would have aired on Christmas 2000.)

That's right, they didn't show the Gohan dating episode the first time around, but when they re-aired the Saga (killing time until "new" episodes), they did show it.
