Was that that cel-shaded Spider-man series I saw? Only caught a few episodes of it. It wasn't too bad, though they could have spent a little more time smoothing the animations out.Captain Awesome wrote:You're not as sad as I was when I heard that MTV Spiderman series was originally going to be based on Ultimate Spiderman.
But then I guess it would have been in 3d..which would have sucked..
Uh..yeah..Freeza.
..Regeneration..
..I've got nothing.

On topic:
Yeah, when I first heard that line I thought Freeza had the power to mimic other abilities after time to study how they worked. Thus he planned on learning regeneration (and that this would come up during the later battles against Krillin, Gohan, Vegeta, Piccolo, and Goku).

<Kaboom> I'm just glad that he now sounds more like Invader Zim than Rita Repulsa
<Xyex> Original Freeza never sounded like a chick to me.
<Kaboom> Neither does Rita
<Xyex> Good point.

Yeah, I'm a big Spidey fan, but I had a lot of trouble watching it, the acting was terrible, and the story was a weird amalgamation of the movies and the comics.Xyex wrote:]

And it doesn't help that I haven't liked a 3d animated show since Beast Wars.
True. However, I don't think this is a case of regeneration. Freeza's final transformation looked as though he cast off his third form to reveal his true form. He shed his skin, so to speak, and while the skin might've been damaged, his new body wasn't (well, not until after the Genki-DamaSuper Sonic wrote:Interestingly enough, it seemed his 4th form was able to regenerate his tail before being hit by the Spirit Bomb.

Freeza's first two transformations were more like expansion to the previous forms, hence why Freeza's tail remained cut off going to form 3. Makes you wonder if Freeza's first three forms weren't actually a modifiable, integrated bio-mechanical suit that somehow enabled him to suppress his power...

Although his tail remained cut, I think it was Gohan and Vegeta who state that all the battle-damage he had incurred from Piccolo was healed when he made his 2nd transformation. So, some healing factor was still involved. I think it's just the rapid mitosis of cells that cuases his increase in size, caused many wounds to simply be healed due to rapid cell growth.Terra-jin wrote:previous forms, hence why Freeza's tail remained cut off going to form 3.

Speaking for Freeza's tail in general, I've always been curious. Someone with a Manga eye nail this one down for me:
In the Anime, Freeza's tail is regrown after the transformation into his true form. Then several episodes later, the tip is inexplicably cut again and remains that way until battle's end, as though it had always been. Was this a goof of Toei, or a goof of Toriyama-sensei that Toei felt it necessary to mimic for authenticity's sake?

If I remember correctly, Freeza loses the tip of his tail a second time after getting hit with the Genki Dama. It's never actually shown, but when he appears on the cliff again after the attack the tip of his tail is missing, along with other bits of damage. Before that his final form had always had a complete tail. So there's no mistake at all.
