Re: Dragon Ball Super: Broly Box Office Thread
It's at $103.52 million now from Fox markets. It released in Italy and Hong Kong yesterday, they likely won't be Fox markets.
Hoping Italy is good for $1+ million and Hong Kong several hundred thousand.

Re: Dragon Ball Super: Broly Box Office Thread
Good find. Resurrection F only made $870,000 there in total so it'll blow past that from the looks of it.
Re: Dragon Ball Super: Broly Box Office Thread
Looks like that Italian site updates every day. On Friday it was #1 again with another €301,437.
So in two days it's made €844,000 or $960,000. I said it'd be good if it could surpass $1 million but it's going to fly past that in just 3 days from the looks of it. Could even make $2 million or more yet.
After the weekend figures comes out I'll see about working out what it should be at altogether with all the markets.

Re: Dragon Ball Super: Broly Box Office Thread
The movie had a weekly take of €1.67 million in Italy with 233,000 tickets sold. It was also #1.
That's about $1.89 million which already makes it the highest grossing European market for the movie and already doubled Resurrection F. Looks like it'll pass $2 million then.
Altogether all the reported figures add up to at least $113.5 million worldwide. I say at least because there's other smaller markets like Taiwan, Indonesia, Hong Kong etc unaccounted for and not all the latest figures for other countries have been updated so it could be between $114-115 million perhaps.
In about 10 days time it releases in France, Belgium and Portugal so that might add another nice bit. With China supposedly to come it looks like the movie is going to finish in the $120 million range.

Re: Dragon Ball Super: Broly Box Office Thread
I always knew Italy was among the biggest European fan bases. It’s such a shame we couldn’t get the movie earlier because the online leaks have surely impacted it. If it had released in December, I’m sure it would have made much more but oh well, that applies to every other country except for Japan. Let’s hope that if they ever make another movie that they will be able to figure out a simultaneous worldwide release.Bullza wrote: ↑Mon Mar 04, 2019 4:43 am The movie had a weekly take of €1.67 million in Italy with 233,000 tickets sold. Looks like the Italy gross got adjusted up with actuals to €1.682 million or $1.9 million.
On Monday it made €157,100 or $178,000. So now it's at $2.085 million. That's very good and dare I say it may even get to $3 million.
It took 10 months for Italy to get Battle of Gods and it took 5 months for them to get Resurrection F and now just 2 months for Broly.
Next time they need to try aim for 1 month and not just for Italy. France and Portugal are taking even longer and Sweden, Denmark and Norway even longer still.

Well at the least, it is something they've improved upon with each successive movie.

Re: Dragon Ball Super: Broly Box Office Thread
According to this, the movie has made more than 12 billion yen (more than $107,000,000) which is more than what Box Office Mojo or The Numbers are reporting.
This month we have France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Reunion, Martinique, Senegal, Mayotte, Morocco, Tunisia, Madagascar and Vietnam. Next month we have Gabon. Also, some Nordic countries with no release date yet.

That's interesting and thankfully it at least seems to fit in with what I've been saying up till now.TheRed259 wrote: ↑Tue Mar 05, 2019 1:50 pm According to this, the movie has made more than 12 billion yen (more than $107,000,000) which is more than what Box Office Mojo or The Numbers are reporting.
I've already said that Box Office Mojo don't have the full gross because their international gross is only including the markets where the movie was distributed by Fox.
So if they're saying it's done over ¥12 billion as opposed to over ¥13 billion then it's made somewhere between $107-116 million. I said $113.5 million is what the reported figures added up to so that works.
Re: Dragon Ball Super: Broly Box Office Thread
The Italian gross is up to €2.028 million or $2.29 million.
The gross seems like it's being adjusted each day though. Originally it was meant to have made €1.669 million by Sunday but now it's saying €1.698 million by Sunday. So it might even be even higher still yet.
Captain Marvel came out in Italy yesterday and Dragon Ball did drop quite a bit from #1 to #4.

Re: Dragon Ball Super: Broly Box Office Thread
There is a high possibility that the new movie will get released in India:

If they are gonna release it there, then the movie's box office will go even higher since India's population is more than 1 billion!

BTW, I forgot to mention Portugal.

Re: Dragon Ball Super: Broly Box Office Thread
The Box Office went up by $40,000 to $103.55 million over the past week on Box Office Mojo. Again obviously not including Italy or Hong Kong into the equation as the international gross listed is only including Fox distributed markets.
It made $344,000 in Hong Kong. So after 4 days it's already surpassed what Resurrection F made after 6 weekends which was $269,000.
So now all the reported figures add up to $114.3 million worldwide.
If it does come out in India that'd be good news for it though I have no idea what it could make there as I don't know how popular it is there. For now though we have the weekend coming up and then next week France, Belgium and Portugal are the main ones.
Oh and I forgot to add that with them recently saying Broly had made over ¥12 billion, the other day I saw that Resurrection F had made ¥7.9 billion in total.

Re: Dragon Ball Super: Broly Box Office Thread
Next goal would be 120 million dollars. I think it’s doable considering that there are still quite a few markets where the movie has yet to be released, and among them is France which I heard has a big DB fan base.

Italy is at $2.37 million now.
But with it supposedly coming out in Nordic countries, rumours of India and supposedly China it should pass it with those.
It should be doable though I don't think it would reach that amount just from France, Portugal and Belgium alone. I'm hoping for $2-3 million from those.

Re: Dragon Ball Super: Broly Box Office Thread
Question, now that the film has unfortunately leaked in 1080p with Japanese subs (along with fan subs for other languages), how big can this detriment the box office for Broly in countries that are showing the movie this late?
Re: Dragon Ball Super: Broly Box Office Thread
It will effect it to some extent but maybe not too badly in most places. I saw high quality videos on YouTube a couple weeks ago and I know it's already posted online but it's not stopped it from doing really well in Italy.superfan2024 wrote: ↑Sat Mar 09, 2019 12:11 pm Question, now that the film has unfortunately leaked in 1080p with Japanese subs (along with fan subs for other languages), how big can this detriment the box office for Broly in countries that are showing the movie this late?
I think China would probably be the main concern because they're much more of a bootleg market. Resurrection F didn't really do all that well in theatres there, it made a fraction of Boruto or Film Gold because it released a year and a half after Japan so probably all the fans would have watched it online already.
That's the market with the most potential but also where this leak would have the most impact so the sooner they can get it out the better.
I wouldn't be too concerned for the European markets though.
Re: Dragon Ball Super: Broly Box Office Thread
New countries from Africa were announced: Democratic Republic of the Congo, Cameroon, Côte d'Ivoire, Niger, Burkina Faso, Mali, Guinea, Benin and Togo.
Let's hope the movie does well there!
BTW, French Guiana and French Polynesia will also get the movie.
And it seems that India is really getting the new movie:

Re: Dragon Ball Super: Broly Box Office Thread
I'm pretty sure we won't hear a zip from any of those African markets, they're that small that Box Office Mojo doesn't even bother to cover them but its money all the same.
Is only that one theatre chain in India getting the movie? We'll probably hear something from there if it does.
In Italy though it's at €2.31 million or $2.6 million. Last week it kept getting adjusted up so that might happen again in which case it might be even more than that.
In two days time we have France, Portugal and Belgium so I'll have to keep an eye out for them.
