Yeah, you got a point Liam. But I think it's more of a cute thing than a funny thing. Unless, of course, it's YOUR baby butt pictures. :?

True. I should have been more clear that "child" included characters such as, say, Dexter. His arse is shown all the time (and I do mean all the time. Gennedy Tartakovsky has a problem), but it's always shown for comedic effect, there's never anything "sexual" about it.

On the other hand, I've seen fangirls make gushing comments about the time you see Vegeta's bum when he comes out of the regeneration tank. Hence...sexual. Somehow.

It shouldn't work any other way. Anyone who thinks a child's butt is sexy should be skewered by a rusty katana. I'll be there to do it myself.

I'm guessing Gennedy Tartakovsky created Dexter's Lab?

That's a good guess Zacko! And I'll help you skewer that person by the way. :twisted:

Because I remember that "He's always late" was cut about two minutes short when it aired on CN in the US because, I guess, they were suddenly too lazy to cover Gokuu's ass with a towel (it's so weird, somehow they're allowed to show children's naked butts, but adult asses are a no-no....makes no friggin' sense). If they went that far to avoid showing asses, I'm pretty sure they remembered to cover Gokuu's naughty bits in a flashback.
It was a flashback to child Goku :) So.. yeah ^^;

You know, thinking about the "child vs. adult butt" issue, I remember on the Power Puff Girls they've shown the mayor's naked butt. He's an adult, so shouldn't that be too "sexual" for TV? Or is the fact that his body is short and child like enough to keep him from being viewed as sexual? Are Gokuu and Vegeta just too damn sexy for TV, even if their nudity only comes in non-sexual contexts like bathing? Why is it that when nudity is seen in a museum it's art, but if it's on TV it's SMUT! FILTY SMUT? These are the questions of our times :wink:

I guess Vegeta and Goku's butt's are drawn more realistically than the Mayor's.

Buuut... I think they hid Gohan's butt before. Why did they do that? He was just a little kid, he wasn't grown up at all. o.o
Yes... I am... but you don't know that...

Could be the same thing. Gohan is too "realistic" (when compared to, say, typical Cartoon Cartoon designs).

For instance, they've had the PPGs be naked once, but I really doubt they'd show the girls from Totally Spies in the nude.

I think they only hid Gohan's butt during the time when Saban was still controlling the editing. Throughout the rest of the series, I don't think they've cut out the showing of children's butts (I know they showed Chichi spanking a bare-bottomed Goten, and in GT they showed Gokuu's butt when Old Kai and the others were trying to pull out his tail). Then again, knowing Funimation I wouldn't be surprised if there were instances when they decided to randomly edit an ass shot for the hell of it (I'm thinking that in flashback sequences to naked Gohan lying on top of Vegeta after crushing him with his Oozaru form might have still edited in the little strip of fabric covering Gohan's ass, for whatever reason).
