Gohan is able to keep up with her and block attacks, she's not one-shot powerful against him. Using the teleport as a feint was a smart move.

That actually made sense to me, as Bra isn't THAT much more powerful than Gohan.
That said, things WILL sometimes happen for plot reasons, even if Salagir generally tries to avoid that.

At first, the laser attack was on Bra, and Bra is quick enough to just have a scratch and move.
But that would make no sense, the Ultras would attack directly Babidi.
But that would be a problem, because Babidi would die immediately.
Also, the page layout in different versions and situations was also a pb, too much things in one page, or not enough.
And I needed Bra to be close to Babidi for after. And him being out of his protection was also helping much the sequel...
At the end we decided Babidi would somehow evade the first laser... and the rest goes.
Of course, the time he says "help me", and even the time for the sound to arrive to Bra, Babidi should have been cut into 234 pieces. But it's a classic in shonen and in DB : sound is instantaneous and you always have the time for a short yell or remark.

Many other things were changed and pages added.
The second minicell teleporting Gohan to the Piccolos wasn't there at first, but it was a good way to introduce him, although there is the confusion of whose Gohan is who.
Added a panel to tell all the spectators are dead.
Added Bra seeing the senzus and the minicell.
Etc.

This is actually pretty important. The tournament may be destroyed now and it's going to be pure chaos going forward. There's still Buu and XXI and Vegetto* all wanting the Namek Dragonballs.

Power levels mean fuck all in regards to being controlled by Babidi, the only things that seem to actually matter are a person’s inner goodness, and their pride, Bra has neither, and Cell has the latter. Also where are you getting the idea she willingly became Majinized? She’s said she embraced it after getting possessed, but there’s no indication she willingly let her self go like Vegeta.

According to Xenoverse 1, not even higher level magic users kind do such a thing, let alone Babidi.

Babidi just needs evil in your heart but if you are a stubborn bastard you can resist. If Vegeta could do it Cell easily could.

Buus presumably can't because it'd make Buu stronger and more obedient but it was never tried in canon.

XV1 has two stronger forms of possession, Demigra and Towas, you can't resist Demigras unless you are a GoD or have had God ki (post BoG SS3 Goku) Towas is probably the same or less strong. Perhaps Towas improved by XV2.

Towards seema to have two levels of control, one where she just powers them up and sends them off Turles, Slug, affecting canon characters like Nappa this waym and one where she really powers them up and they strongly mind controlled, like Broly and Janemba.
