Yeah. This is basically why I don't watch dubs. The voices are just too annoying. I couldn't make it past about a minute and a half.
I'll third that. Then again, the new trailer for FUNi's new One Piece DVDs is kinda cheesy and annoying, too, yet we all know how high-quality the actual dub is.

Regardless, if FUNi or Viz has the license, then we can count on a well-subbed Japanese track, anyway. So it's win-win in the end, either way.

Sounds like 4Kids has the rights to the show.
The series doesn't start with the arrival of Raditz. Stop being lazy and watch Dragonball.

But I can't, that's how life is. Time is a bitch. The party is over. Kageyama, Kikuchi, and Maeda are off the sauce now; Yanami almost OD'd; Yamamoto got arrested; Toriyama's not going to light trash cans on fire and hang from the chandelier anymore. We can't get the band back together, and even if we could, everyone's either old, in poor health, or calmed way the fuck down. Best we're going to get, and are getting, is a party that's almost entirely devoid of the magic that made the original one so awesome that we even want more.

I think (hope) that was just his impressions from the sound of the trailer. I doubt they actually have it. They're not dubbing much besides Yu-Gi-Oh! nowadays.

So no one knows who's got the rights to it?

I hope its Funi. I'm upset at Viz and I'd rather have, if just for continuity's sake, Goku's Funi VA (Forgive me I forget how to spell her last name) voicing him in the dub.
On hiatus.

The music to me sounds like a dead giveaway. Anybody have links to the original version?

After hearing the audio on that link, this dub does sound more bad than good, but I still can't tell what studio it is.

I hope its not 4Kids. I mean, how could they ever possibly beat out Funi when buying Dr. Slump? Not to mention that Toei still must be upset at 4Kids for what they did to One Piece.
On hiatus.

Stephanie Nadolny. I like her Goku voice. I think I would be disappointed if it wasn't FUNimation doing the dub :(

I'm out of the loop when it comes to what Viz did to One Piece. :?

Was this done by the same animation team that did the DB 10th anniversary special?

Who even have the rights?

I will accept credit for this release. Any time I go to the trouble of gathering rare materials and making my own collection of it, a better, official release is always shortcoming.

I wish I could the original 243 episodes to watch. I love old school anime, especially since it was a great success in Mexico. It's hard to believe how the internet has everything nowadays, that it's still hard to find episodes on the original Dr. Slump series in the interent.

Yeah, actually the only thing I've been able to find is the very first episode subbed.

It sucks, I want to see it all without paying $2,000+ for the whole thing on CDJapan.

Oh no, I've waited so long for this show to be dubbed and 4kids has it....well that's just fucking great.

I really hope it gets released in a box set type thing, and hopefully it will actually be like 25+ episode, instead of this 13 episode "boxset" nonsense.

Is it that hard to watch fricken Dr. Slump in America? Sheesh
