But I can't, that's how life is. Time is a bitch. The party is over. We can't get the band back together, and even if we could, everyone's either old, in poor health, or calmed way the fuck down. Best we're going to get, and are getting, is a party that's almost entirely devoid of the magic that made the original one so awesome that we even want more.

Wow, I'm definitely collecting this series when/if the dvds come out. I didn't think a Dr.Slump anime would ever reach the US. Is it FUNimation that's dubbing it?

Wow, like 2 weeks after I hypothesized it.

Holy shit, I can't find news of it ANYWHERE.

Though I can't help but lament that it's not the original 80's series we're getting (and whoever tries to chime in that the aimation's "too old school" to be release here gets a pre-emptive bitch slap upside the skull).

Maybe if this does well it'll lead to more domestic releases of other Slump material? One can always hope...
I think the "old school" style is the best.

Maybe this new one (if it succeeds) will lead to releasing the old one. Kind of like DBZ was first, then DB.

The irony in that statement being that the early episodes of DBZ were drawn very much in the "old school" style of anime to begin with.
Haha true. But I guess DBZ was first because of it's action and quick-start, rather than the animation style.

Having little in the way of knowledge on the history of the Dr. Slump series, I want to ask... is this the one with the Goku cameo? :?

(Hmm... I guess I should watch the video before asking if we're sure about it... XD.)

Yes. Yes it is.
I finally bought a gamecube. To bad they don't make any games for it now.

If such is the case, I'm really hoping it's Funimation, because I don't want to hear in a dub anyone else as Goku.

I've been interested in Dr. Slump, but I would have wanted to start with the original 80's series.

I hope it's FUNi that gets it... and not make it widescreen.

Well, I always heard the new Dr. Slump wasn't that great.

Wow, first news about Blue Dragon being dubbed and now this? If the show actually gets aired, I might get back into the manga series. I mean, it was enjoyable an' all, but it wasn't really going anywhere. Then again, I remember flipping through one of the later chapters and saw a million new additions to the series. Go figure.

I don't like the music their giving us. I looks like they are not keeping the original background music. I will buy it if there's a japasese version to it. You know what's weird, it's like Akira Toriyama and Shunsuku Kikuchi like to work with each other. Akira did Dr. Slump and Dragon ball and Z with Shunsuke composing all of it. Pretty nice.

Maybe they're testing the waters with the newer series? After all, it's a lot shorter then the original series.

Yeah. This is basically why I don't watch dubs. The voices are just too annoying. I couldn't make it past about a minute and a half.
