I say it'd be best to reserve judgment on how well he can act Goku until we've, y'know, seen him act Goku. At least in a trailer or something.

The only thing I've ever seen him in before was War of the Worlds. Who knows, maybe he can pull of Goku.

I haven't watched Buffy or the later part of Smallville so I don't have a preexisting attachment to him like a lot of people I know. Though maybe to be a bit less of a bitch, I didn't mean that he's a bad actor in general, just that I'm unimpressed with the idea of this guy as Piccolo. Maybe he could pull out something diffrent now that it looks like it's gonna be Daimaou and he's not as complicated as his son. And working as Daimaou first could make it easier to understand Pic's mind, or so I've gotta hope when I can hope about all of this.

The only thing I can offer you is this- Piccolo is by far my favorite DB characters. In the running for favorite fictional character ever, honestly. And I was a loyal BtVS and Angel fan. And as far as I was concerned, this project went from shitastic to "whoa, maybe it wont totally suck" the minute they signed JM. That's my perspective, for whatever it's worth.

Actually, I said this once before somewhere, but there is another factor- acting. Being surprised by a choice in actors isnt rare. I have a friend who loathed the idea of Christian Bale for Batman Begins, while myself and another were giddy over it. The difference between us was that we had seen Equilibrium, whereas he was basing his opinion pretty much on American Psycho and Shaft. Or Robert Downey Jr as Iron Man. I've been an I'm fan for a very long time, to the point that 3 of him is my best team in the game Marvel vs Capcom 2. And yeah, I got the whole "wow, they got a recovering alcoholic to play Tony Stark" angle. But... well hell, we don't have to go back far. Let's just say that not once during "Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang," "Zodiac," or "A Scanner Darkly," did I look at the man and think "PROTON CANNON!" That is until the trailers, and now all I do is geek out whenever they come on.

Hair is a little less distinguishable by shape in real life than compared to anime. They need some way to help distinguish Yamcha's look from Goku's. Blonde streaks for Yamcha works.

LMAO he really does look like a minion from those Sentai shows. I'm assuming they are going to put some CG on him.
Edit: I am REALLY loving Yamcha, he looks perfect to me actually.

To answer your question, it is not one of HOPE. It is only a matter of when one has to get the fuck out of one's country. That means in English chico, that this is going to be very BAD for any Dragonball fan in America or Mexico. Let them do it and get it done with already.

Well, that's Jackson Spidell, Chatwin's stunt double. This dude'll be flipping and jumping around so fast, we won't even get any good looks at him, so hopefully Chatwin will look just as good.

Also, I was gonna try cosplaying as Sanji for Otakon, but provided we get more good shots like this, I may go for live-action Goku instead.
