Eh? The Dub claimed Recoome and Android? :?

I hate Kui for his stupidity:

Ignoring the fact that Saiyans can:
1) Transform into a creature that's ten times as powerful as their untransformed state

2)Saiyans become stronger after every battle

3)Saiyans become 00ber stronger after near-death experiences;

And that Vegeta:
1) Left for Earth "as strong as Kui"

2) Experienced a near-death battle on Earth;

3) Is Saiyan

Kui felt that he should have absolutely no problem kicking his ass five ways around Namek and back. At BEST, if we ignore everything I just typed, wouldn't he only have a 50/50 chance of winning? Now throw in everything else I said. Kui, you are gid.

XD You know your post has made me think of something Dayspring. We should also name the 5 characters in DBZ that were the most stupid about battling someone and got killed or least badly beaten anyway. Definitely Kui would be in there. I'd also put that Nok guy from the 28th Budokai in for being so stupid as to taunt Vegita and call him an old man, when it was clear that by looking at Vegita, he's in perfect shape and aced the preliminaries. And for how dumb he looked being punched out in mid-sentence by Vegita. My favourite Vegita scene of all time.:D

Did Toriyama borrow from the anime to make a character for the manga? It wouldn't surprise me. That sort of thing has happened with American comics bringing characters made for animated series into their canon. Harley Quinn and Firestar were made for their animated series and are now part of their respective universes.

X23 from X-Men Evolution is also now in NYX as an S&M prostitute.

Maybe this is why Mike doesn't allow yung'uns in here.

NYX is one of the many spinoff titles for X-Men. It features the "not so positive" aspects of being a mutant in the big city. I believe it has a "mature" rating.

So yeah... crazy lil' X23 chicky from X-Men Evolution is now in NYX as a whore. Trippy.

Newest-ish X-Men-related comic. It focuses on some of the more troubled mutants that Xavier doesn't appear in front of. It has extremely mature content.

EDIT: Damn, Meri beat me!

I saw the finale of XME yesterday. For a series I hated originally, it really grew on me, and that final shot/photo thing was great. So, er, yeah.
Jerseymilk wrote:And I hate Nappa for the same exact reasons B-kun pointed out earlier. Another scumbag. I also really hate Cell and Freeza for their extreme coldness and cruelty.
But that's surely a differing sort of "hate" than the thread creator meant? I mean, obviously we should hate them for being evil, evil people. But do we hate them as characters?

I was thinking about it, and there's actually no-one in any DB series that really, really annoys me, on the level of, say, Simon from Frasier. So yay for Akira.

That's a good point Liam. If it comes down to that, I don't think I really have anyone in DB that annoys me either.

B-kun, since when does the dub claim Recoome is an android? Anyway,

1)Chi-Chi and Bulma- In my book they're equally annoying, the dub basically ruins them for me.

2)Oolong and Puar- Same as above. I'm really starting to believe Funi gives minor characters the worst lines ever, on purpose.

3)Chris Sabat- Ok so I know he's not a DB character, but he seems to ruin every single character he gets his hand on. Well, Except mabey Buu Saga Piccolo. The man should just give all his roles over to Andrew Chandler. I almost thought it was Sabat doing the GT narration for a minute.

4)Kaioshin- After Vegetto is formed, he really becomes pointless. He's great at pointing out the obvious.

5)Mr. Satan- Why was he created? Why? They already had Kuririn as comic releif! He just really pisses me off everytime he opens his mouth.

That's the anime, though. Krillin wasn't a pointless comedy goof in the manga.

I think he's Daphne's drunken brother. I don't know, I've seen about 12 episodes.

At first I was skeptical of him, but he has grown on me. Both his King Piccolo, and Piccolo in DB just said "EVIL" to me. Also when his Majin Vegeta was explaining his reasons, that was one of the best monologues I ever heard in anything animated. His Kazuma-san is also one of my favorite characters.

And also, Firestar was from "Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends".

Really, Spideman? I assumed it was X-Men, all things considered.

.. Damn those Marvel crossovers.

It wasn't so much a claim, as it was another lame attempt at an insult. While Vegeta is getting beaten by Recoome, he says "If only I could summon enough strength to put away this over-grown android! Because If I could, they would need tweezers to pick up the peices!"

I think at this time in the dub, they had no clue that their actually WAS going to be Androids in the story later.

They were probably trying to hint to the kiddies a possible excuse as to why someone who looks Human is so damn strong and working for Freeza.

He is. And he pisses me off because he does nothing at all apart from being her drunken brother. Nothing. Which would be okay if he was just in one episode, but he KEPT COMING BACK. Plus he had a cockney accent, when Daphne is supposed to be from Manchester.

Er, anyway, I never liked Mr Satan during the Cell games. I felt he kept drawing attention away from the Exciting Fight Scenes. During the Buu saga though, he really grew on me. Especially his cooking for Buu, and attacking the Evil Men With Guns. He's...fun.

As to Oolong...although he was originally one of those who's dub voice made me want to scream, I've gotten used to it (same thing with Kame Sen'nin, really). I actually think the DB dub did quite a good job of writing for him. He's quite nice and sarcastic in the original, and sometimes the dub lines are actually even better.

Chi-Chi does annoy me though, if less so as time has gome on. During the Saiyan saga I just wanted to kill her.
