Pretty much. I mean every time I go to Mexico there always showing the old anime and new ones too. Not also that, but also showing cartoon network and nickelodian old shows and new ones too, it's amazing.

From what the video owner on Youtube says, 4Kids doesn't have the rights.
The series doesn't start with the arrival of Raditz. Stop being lazy and watch Dragonball.

Yes, that was just ONE person's observation about the music, and as DragonBall Z fans, you should ALL know that 4Kids' dubs aren't the only ones that have ass music. The age of 4Kids is over; it ended the day they surrendered One Piece. No way they'd be getting a hold of a major series like Dr. Slump, especially now that Toei thinks as lowly of them as the rest of the anime community. No way, no how. I'm betting it's FUNi, although there's a small chance it could be Viz as well.

The narrator sounds a lot like Kyle Herbert, so it might be either FUNimation or Viz. BTW, Viz has the rights to Blue Dragon to whoever was asking.

I hope it's FUNimation. I would buy the sets quickly, if it's the original 243 episodes first.

I think we can officially say now that there's an Akira Toriyama curse that only effects the United States and other English-speaking countries.
For all the flack that FUNimation gets on this forum for their quote about DBZ, there's some modicum of truth to it: a 9-year-old is born every day. Or in some cases, "reborn". DBZ may be a kids' show, but it's been so close to so many hearts all over Japan, America, and quite possibly, even the world.
Yeah it does sound like him! But you think FUNimation would learn by now NOT to make their own BGM.

Unless they know idiots like me will buy their version, and then a "Remastered" version later.........yup

One way to tell if it's funi or not... does this Arale voice match theirs from her cameo in dragonball? And the one in the games?

I agree. Plus, what's up with the extremely bland looking text at the end?

Seriously, we would've heard about this being licensed long before we got a trailer.

I hope its Funi. I'm upset at Viz and I'd rather have, if just for continuity's sake, Goku's Funi VA (Forgive me I forget how to spell her last name) voicing him in the dub.
Stephanie Nadolny. I like her Goku voice. I think I would be disappointed if it wasn't FUNimation doing the dub :(

I'm out of the loop when it comes to what Viz did to One Piece. :?
Viz didn't do anything with One Piece aside from the manga. 4Kids messed up One Piece in many ways. Partly due to FCC regulations, and partly due to other things like most of their Jump based series.

And personally, I thought Stephanie Nadolny was the best English Goku.

What if it's Anime Works? It sounds like a bad enough dub to be them, and I've heard at least 3 voices on there before.

*watches trailer*
...
o_o

... I prefer the voice of Senbei from the Fyrestarter fandub. And yet... I think Brice Armstrong sounded kinda better than the Funi Gyu-mao parody I hear in the trailer... (and I don't much care for Brice Armstrong's portrayal. :( ).

It sounds like a trailer for a random eighties movie, possibly starring Rob Schneider. XD

I work at Starz Entertainment and work around a lot of video editors, and I would lean towards this being un-professional because there's a nice little part of this trailer where we have the narrorator talking while it's showing some characters talking. I know that in Television, showing clips of characters talking, while not actually HEARING what they're saying, is a big no no. Which leads me to question this being official.

With no official word on this, I'm starting to think it's a fake as well.

My guess on this is that it is a Japanese-produced trailer for the purpose of showing to US distributors, to find out if they are keen on licensing the property for further distribution. It doesn't mean it is licensed, simply that they tried selling it out. Back in the late 80's there was an English language Saint Seiya promo made by Toei, for much the same reason. Most of these aren't shown to the general public since it's not really made for them, but leaks happen.

Also, as to why people talk while the narrator speaks, it's another thing that happens in Japanese previews. Lets just say it's a difference in how both cultures approach these things- I mean, it's safe to say that Japanese trailers in general are structured very differently to American ones.
