I figured we could all probably use a laugh given what a trial this year has been for us all in so, so many ways - and a politician looping back around to the age-old 'ALL ANIME IS PORN' argument is certainly worth a chuckle compared to other news flooding our timelines.

His exact words were to warn his followers on Twitter about the great deal of anime porn on the internet, but he then goes on to single out Dragon Ball Z specifically as one of the worst offenders. Since, you know, Florida doesn't have any other problems to deal with right now at all, so let's crack down on that nefarious DBZ, corrupting our kids!

I'm honestly not even mad. I think it's hilarious that this is the look he's decided to go with, with (again) EVERYTHING else happening in the world right now. Hopefully others also find it as ludicrously hilarious and also get a chuckle out of this one.

Porn is good if you are a consenting adult but children cannot consent to said content. Dragon Ball, which features not only pornography but a mentor character trying to sexually assault women is not appropriate for children.

That said, politicians just want to ban porn and penalize sex workers in general to fill private prison beds and keep women and minorities dependent on major corporations, so this chump can go fuck himself anyway.

This reminds me to some degree of the articles of oftentimes ridiculous accusations/denouncements that people made against Pokemon saying it was Satanic and evil when the series was still in it's massive craze blitz back in the late '90s/early 2000's. Does DB have some inappropriate scenes ? yes, mostly concerning Roshi. However, to label the entire franchise as Porn is very excessive, and shows a complete lack of understanding on what DB is, and even what Porn is for that matter. How anyone can mix the two up, and somehow by eligible for such an official position is something I'll never understand. With that said, it's a good thing Florida doesn't have any other, more important issues going on for him and other officials to take care of.

Yup, when I read that I couldn't take the guy seriously. He's probably never seen the series, and is simply generalizing anime based, maybe on a passing familiarity with hentai, and awareness in name only that Dragon Ball Z is one of the most popular shows.
