Florida Politician Calls Dragon Ball Z Porn
Re: Florida Politician Calls Dragon Ball Z Porn
In all seriousness, Dragon Ball sexualizes tons of its female characters, including 16 year old Bulma and Launch. There was a woman in the world tournament who won matches by seducing male characters. Then you've got characters like Oolong and Roshi who have either plotted to or succeeded in sexually assaulting female characters. The manga shows nudity too.
I think too much violent and sexually graphic stuff slips by the rating system too easily.

“Porn” implies that its primary purpose is to give people something to get off to.Peach wrote: Thu Jul 30, 2020 8:53 pm In all seriousness, Dragon Ball sexualizes tons of its female characters, including 16 year old Bulma and Launch. For the record, I don’t have much of an opinion regarding sexualized content in media meant for children, but the guy definitely suggested that Dragon Ball is essentially porn. They are now introducing a great deal of anime porn into the internet matrix.
Dragon Ball Z is one of the top issues here.
They are sexualizing cartoon characters to push a depraved agenda on our kids.
What’s next? Where will it end?

Re: Florida Politician Calls Dragon Ball Z Porn
I agree here as well. Dragon Ball isn't pornographic but you do get the feeling that the writers wish they could go that far in the early issues/episodes. There is nudity too, although most of the time I'd say it comes from Goku not even realizing why it's inappropriate.Peach wrote: Thu Jul 30, 2020 8:53 pm In all seriousness, Dragon Ball sexualizes tons of its female characters, including 16 year old Bulma and Launch. This is Florida Man. And this...this is what is known as Florida Man that has ascended past Florida Man. Or, you could just call this Florida Politician.
Ooh Ooh. Oh hum, what a useless transformation. You've changed your profession so what?
Has he really found the way to surpass Florida Politician?
He must be bluffing. I mean, what would that make him? Double Politician?
And this... Is... To go... Even further... Beyond! Florida Governor!

Oh man this takes me back to the Jack Thompson era of middle-aged white dudes not understanding popular fictional media, have we traveled back in time?
Guess some things never change.
It also reminds me of how dumbass religious nutjobs used to call the Harry Potter books "EEEEEEEEVIL"(though ironically I could see them actually liking them nowadays since they likely share JKR's views on trans people) two of my mom's friends were actually dumb enough to believe that crap.

Uh dude, with most right-wingers now literally telling people NOT to wear masks(or worse yet, calling COVID a "hoax") and encouraging people to risk others health and safety( because dear leader cannot handle a pandemic), this REALLY ain't the time to be defending Republicans. I don't see how any sane person could be one nowadays with all the deaths going on and with people like De Santis seemingly determined to steer the Titanic into the iceberg(because minorities are going to be hit by it the hardest so why should they care?Jord wrote: Thu Jul 30, 2020 8:37 amYeah, globalizing one man's opinion to cover an entire party sure seems like a great idea.Kamiccolo9 wrote: Thu Jul 30, 2020 6:25 amThrowing politics into a thread titled "Florida Politician Calls Dragon Ball Z Porn." Yes, let's throw politics into this discussion. That always makes threads better.
As a matter of fact, why keep it confined to just "Republican"? Let's change it to
Let me guess...American?
and lump all of America under it's shade.

A bit of an analogy backfire there... if the Titanic had rammed the iceberg head-on instead of trying to turn away from it and getting a long gash in the side of its hull, it would have had a much better chance of survival.Planetnamek wrote: Sat Aug 01, 2020 2:03 am Oh man this takes me back to the Jack Thompson era of middle-aged white dudes not understanding popular fictional media, have we traveled back in time?Guess some things never change.

Still there's actually studies that showed that the Titanic could've easily avoided the iceberg had the captain heeded the numerous ice warnings he'd been given, which arguably makes it a perfect metaphor for the pandemic:https://www.huffpost.com/entry/how-coul ... _b_1510275Polyphase Avatron wrote: Sat Aug 01, 2020 2:48 amA bit of an analogy backfire there... if the Titanic had rammed the iceberg head-on instead of trying to turn away from it and getting a long gash in the side of its hull, it would have had a much better chance of survival.Planetnamek wrote: Sat Aug 01, 2020 2:03 am Oh man this takes me back to the Jack Thompson era of middle-aged white dudes not understanding popular fictional media, have we traveled back in time?Guess some things never change.

It's people like this that make it hard for me to answer straight when people ask where I stand on the spectrum. I just go with "Moderate" to label myself, since if I said the truth and just said "Conservative" i'd immediately be lumped in with a bunch of loonies who think 5G causes the Coronavirus and such.

I know there are some decent conservatives out there like Bill Kristol and Mitt Romney, but ever since you-know-who got elected, it seems like good conservatives are as rare as unicorns, with all the shit i've seen hurled at marginalized people by right-wingers, i'm sure you can forgive me for being baffled that anyone would want to label themselves a conservative in this day and age, as now when most people hear that word, they think of someone who hates BLM and thinks that trans people are freaks of nature and who is anti-abortion period no matter what.ArmenianPepsi wrote: Sat Aug 01, 2020 2:51 amI guess if we're throwing politics into the ring this thread i'll join in for a quip.Planetnamek wrote: Sat Aug 01, 2020 2:03 am Oh man this takes me back to the Jack Thompson era of middle-aged white dudes not understanding popular fictional media, have we traveled back in time?Guess some things never change.

With how sensitive the topic of politics is in America today, moderate is definitely the safe answer, and what I consider myself to be. I'm by no means a fan of the republican party, especially with how bad they've handled this whole mess, but democrats probably wouldn't do much better. It seems like Americans are unfortunately stuck with picking between bad or worse.ArmenianPepsi wrote: Sat Aug 01, 2020 2:51 amIt's people like this that make it hard for me to answer straight when people ask where I stand on the spectrum. I don't think it's a matter of being rare as much as a vocal minority getting louder, which will probably end once he who shall not be named is no longer in office. A lot of conservatives are just like anyone, trying to get by day in and day out. I think if there was a way to survey all 300+ million Americans, you'll find more similarities than differences, regardless of backgrounds and preferences.Planetnamek wrote: Sat Aug 01, 2020 2:58 amI know there are some decent conservatives out there, but ever since you-know-who got elected, it seems like good conservatives are as rare as unicorns, with all the shit i've seen hurled at marginalized people by right-wingers.

I'm sure that's true, I just wish more of them would speak up, as now really isn't the time for fence-sitting or being silent. I hear all this chatter about republican members of the senate being against Dunce, yet they never seem to speak out against him.Matches Malone wrote: Sat Aug 01, 2020 3:03 amWith how sensitive the topic of politics is in America today, moderate is definitely the safe answer, and what I consider myself to be. The democrats would've done immeasurably better handling the pandemic though, I HATE it when people try to do the cliched "both sides are bad" things with both parties, when only ONE party disbanded the pandemic response team(ya know, the thing that was supposed to prevent this sort of thing from happening) and resisted implementing a national plan because they thought it would hurt blue states more:https://www.refinery29.com/en-us/2020/0 ... orce-trump and only one side is actively trying to sabotage the voting process by attempting to kill the USPS so people can't vote by mail.
Its real easy for straight white people to argue that as they are usually fine and never typically end up suffering at the hands of the right the same way minorities and LGBTQ folks do.
Anyway i've gone on enough of a tangent here, bottom line is politicians need to do their damn research before speaking out about this sort of thing lest they look stupid, it was embarrassing watching so many not have a clue how Facebook worked(Zuckerberg may be a callous bastard, but he sure does know how to make politicians look like fools)and it's tiresome seeing old misconceptions about anime being parroted.
