No one ever asked for modern DB to be different in nature from the original, we just want it to avoid some of the issues it had. I seriously fail to see how that's asking for too much. With everything, be it movies, games, anime, etc... there's an expectation for what comes next to not only avoid the issues of what came before, but to actually improve things overall. Why can't DB be held to that same, bare minimum standard ? If the original DB was an 8/10, is expecting Super to also be an 8, or god forbid a 9/10 too much ?UpFromTheSkies wrote: Thu Nov 19, 2020 12:04 amI expect it to be an extension of the original Dragon Ball and not change the entire nature of the series.

Facts, Dragon Ball will always be a goofy, action packed, campy, nonsensical show/brand. It's honestly ridiculous to think otherwise.UpFromTheSkies wrote: Wed Nov 18, 2020 11:53 pmNo, it doesn't. If Super fixed Dragon Ball's "problems" and became a serious story it would feel like fan fiction, not Dragon Ball. Dragon Ball is campy, and it's full of random asspulls like Super Saiyan 3, zenkai boosts, fusion, Ultra Divine Water, or Cell regenerating into his perfect form without 18Matches Malone wrote: Wed Nov 18, 2020 4:04 pmLet's assume for a second you're right and they both share the same problems, doesn't that make Super look bad for not improving anything despite there being a 2 decade gap and countless other Shonen between them ?

No one's asking for it not to be those things, we just want it to have the same level of quality found in the original manga. Again, how is that asking for too much ?Ilikepictures-meh wrote: Thu Nov 19, 2020 12:50 amFacts, Dragon Ball will always be a goofy, action packed, campy, nonsensical show/brand. Well, if you are asking for it to “fix” “problems” of the original DB, you are. To want it to have the same level of quality as the original manga is totally understandable (we all do), but to expect it to have it is a bit too muchMatches Malone wrote: Thu Nov 19, 2020 12:55 amNo one's asking for it not to be those things, we just want it to have the same level of quality found in the original manga. Isn't expecting a new product to at least be as good as what came before it the norm with everything else ? I never see any other fan base say "although you can hope (insert name here) is as good as the previous one, you shouldn't expect it to be, but instead be happy you're getting anything at all". I've asked this countless times before, and I'll ask it again, why does Super get a free pass ? Everything else is expected to maintain a certain level of quality, and even exceed it, yet Super is not only allowed to have the absolute bare minimum, but is celebrated for it. Why is that ?pepd wrote: Thu Nov 19, 2020 1:29 amTo want it to have the same level of quality as the original manga is totally understandable (we all do), but to expect it to have it is a bit too much.

This feels like the ending to those DBZ movies.

So what you're saying is next arc Goku ditches the dead weight and teams up with an elite fighting force consisting of the likes of Jiren, unrestrained Hit, Broly etc lead by GoDs.Jinto wrote: Wed Nov 18, 2020 11:05 pm Wait a minute![]()
Big avatar Goku ? Mastered UI ? Grand Priest calling Whis ? Beerus following him ?
I'm sure the next arc will be an intergalactic battle (especially if Beerus take part in it) hence why Goku was given this new power.
Maybe we are finally seeing the consequences of their being two Zenos. Maybe one is creating an ultimate force to wipe out the others universe or something.

As much as I'd like to believe there's some grand plan going on behind the scenes, I already thought that with the tournament of power and it amounted to nothing.Brettjr25 wrote: Thu Nov 19, 2020 2:31 amMaybe we are finally seeing the consequences of their being two Zenos. The two Zenos fighting against each other would be a neat idea. Obviously Goku and all of his friends/allies would be on the same team...right?Brettjr25 wrote: Thu Nov 19, 2020 2:31 amSo what you're saying is next arc Goku ditches the dead weight and teams up with an elite fighting force consisting of the likes of Jiren, unrestrained Hit, Broly etc lead by GoDs.Jinto wrote: Wed Nov 18, 2020 11:05 pm Wait a minute![]()

Yeah, they would. If this even occurred I don't expect the Z-Fighters to willingly fight each other.
It would be pretty funny if Moro was just instantly revived to captain the other Zeno's team because he's so strong. So many people would be angry. Although it would be neat if Zeno managed to pull a Time Breakers and somehow acquire villains that haven't been made "canon" yet like the old movie villains, but he'd have to make sure they trained for 4 months first.

More spoilers are out, Vegeta is helping with Spirit Fission and makes a mini Genki Dama. I assume this is probably before super spiritual Goku and that's what transforms him into that form.
Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread
Okay I’m relieved Vegeta gets to do something to help
My feelings on the Genkai Dama thing are mixed. I’ll have to see the context of the chapter but not sure I like that he is doing such a “Goku move”

Thats not Vegeta at all. Thats 2 moves that he used that are of Goku's in this arc
wtf

It's Spirit Fission, Vegeta is just channeling everyone's energy to himself then throws it at Goku. Sure looks like Spirit Bomb, however.DSB wrote: Thu Nov 19, 2020 8:43 amThats not Vegeta at all. Thats 2 moves that he used that are of Goku's in this arc

Mandatory "Toyotaro has officially said Super has to reach the EoZ" reminder.

Can you show the leak that you know this from?
As a big fan of Dragon Ball, I should be expected to hate the live action movie "Dragon Ball: Evolution", but I don't. I don't like it because of the content, but because it gave us Dragon Ball Super:
"Dragon Ball once became a thing of the past to me, but after that, I got angry about the live action movie, re-wrote an entire movie script, and now I'm complaining about the quality of the new TV anime. It seems Dragon Ball has grown on me so much that I can't leave it alone." - Akira Toriyama on Dragon Ball Super.
