This came up in another thread recently, and it seems Funi did in fact did leave those inaccurate bits of exposition completely as they were for the Season Sets.

Damn that sucks I hoped they would have fixed them. Thanks

Also are they releasing new box sets of dragonball too in the same format?

I doubt it. It seems that they don't even have the rights to the first few episodes of DragonBall

Dr. J'aroux is still the head of the army. And Dragonball uncut won't happen for a long time. The bastards.

Technically, it already did. They already released the RRA saga and kept Commander Red as leader. Just looks like a big plot-hole though.

First off, did they name Gero as the head of the Red Ribbon Army in the Japanese version too? If they did then it is good that they kept the same line in the American release, but if that line was not in the Japanese version than it should have been left out.

I strongly believe that they will release the Dragonball and Dragonball GT season sets in the same widescreen format as the DBZ season sets. Every Dragonball DVD Funimation has released in the past year+ has been in that widescreen format.

Definitely not. If I remember correctly, in the original there wasn't any dialog at all during Kame-sennin's Red Ribbon flashback.

lol Hmm... I don't know. I can try to justify FUNimation's mistake, but not sure anyone would buy it lol.

First of all, General Tao. Yes, he was never a member of the Red Ribbon Army, but he did kill General Blue... So maybe that made him...a General in the Red Ribbon ranks?

And as for Dr. Gero. I mean I guess he could be the head of the Red Ribbon Army in DBZ...since nobody else is left of the Red Ribbon Army lol

The problem is that the Funi dub has Kame-sennin refer to Doctor Gero as having been the head of the Red Ribbon Army back when Goku fought against them.

The funny thing is that he didn't even exist back then. :D

Did that anime-only flashback show Dr. Gero at all?

The funny thing is Master Roshi knows not of what he speaks. The only thing he could possibly know about the fight is what Goku might've told him...which I doubt Goku would know all too much. I find it funny how he dictates the fight between Goku and the Red Ribbon Army as if he was there. When in reality, Roshi has nothing to do with the Red Ribbon Army more than hearsay.

Them renaming him Mercenary Tao was good though. Assassin Tao would've been most proper, but still...

They did fix it. You just have to selected the Japanese option on your DVD menu before pressing play.

It's filler anyway, so who cares what Roshi blathers on about while buzzed on cheap booze and tryin' to see some titties? :P

So then who cares if he calls him General Tao? I say he's lucky enough to even know any part of his name.

Actually, since Roshi is bitter rival's with Tao's school, he should most definitely know he's not a General.

Kame-sennin is actually the one who reveals that Taopaipai is Tsuru-sennin's younger brother at the 22nd Tenkaichi Budoukai, so he's certainly aware of who Taopaipai is.
