Frieza's Hover chair?

Hi, Just wondering what was the point of Frieza's Hover chair?

As someone who can walk perfectly fine, but still insists on using those electric scooters at supermarkets, I am insulted.

Anyway in Freeza's case I always assumed it was supposed to be a kind of hovering throne.

The point is that it's freaking awesome! It makes him look like Professor X which is always cool

But seriously, I do agree with Captain Awesome. It sort of seems like Freeza's just using it as a way of intimdating people. In movie 5, Coola seems to have something similar in the opening scene, so maybe the brothers both came up with that idea

That would make sense. I wasn't sure if it was fully explained e.g "people under estimate him thinking he's in a wheelchair" or if it gave him power or something.

From Daizenshuu 4's item guide:

Freeza’s Small Pod: A floating pod Freeza uses during his operations. The only reason Freeza uses this pod is for comfort, since if he wanted to he could fly faster than it.

So he's basically a lazy bastard (no offense to Captain Awesome).

I suppose one might think it's also to elevate him above his troops.

Also, flying throne, not dirting feet, etc...

Seems like Freeza's just vain enough to sit in his chair knowing he's better than everybody around him.
