How would you write the unseen Tournament of Power manga eliminations?
If the manga will be republished in the future with additional content, it's possible Toyotaro will draw the unseen eliminations he had skipped back in 2017/2018 when drawing the rushed adaptation of the arc. He was either eager to get to the point his manga was no longer a promotional material to accompany the anime, or that his supervisors told him to rush the story, so that chapter 42 will be the turning point of the manga with a new arc starting through it.

Have Ten and Kuririn take them out.Geraldo wrote: Thu Dec 22, 2022 4:17 am If the manga will be republished in the future with additional content, it's possible Toyotaro will draw the unseen eliminations he had skipped back in 2017/2018 when drawing the rushed adaptation of the arc. It's not possible considering Beerus' response to their own disqualifications is that they did not do anything and (as Goku's stated when Tien called him from the stands to save Master Roshi) that the tournament has just started.

Re: How would you write the unseen Tournament of Power manga eliminations?
There actually aren't many of the characters in the Tournament whose eliminations aren't depicted at all in the manga: there's Hermila and Vikal (Universe 2), Narirama and Viara (Universe 3), Monna, Majora, and Kyawei (Universe 4), Dr. Rota (Universe 6), and Lilibeu (Universe 10). All of these competitors are eliminated in the first 15 minutes of the Tournament, as per the status board at the end of Chapter 36.
Monna, Narirama, Viara, and Dr. Rota are all eliminated at around the same time as Kuririn, so there's a large pool of potential eliminators to choose from. Dr. Rota mentions he didn't have a chance to cast spells, so it seems like an unexpected elimination: perhaps a scalp for Universe 4's Gamisaras or Damon, or Universe 11's super-speedy Dyspo. We last see Monna facing off against Botamo in the Chapter 33 wide shot, so it's entirely plausible to suggest he out-bounced her in the first 5 minutes of the contest. We see the Trio de Dangers facing off against Universe 3's Bollarator, Kotsukai and Panchia, so maybe they mix it up with Universe 3 some more and take out Narirama and Viara for Universe 9's only eliminations.
The others all seem to outlast Universe 9 (so, they last longer than the first 5 minutes). Majora is shown taking on (or at least in close proximity to) Universe 10's Napapa when Universe 9 gets eliminated, so maybe he gets himself sumo'ed shortly after. Hermila is seen at the same time, standing off from a fight between Botamo and Universe 10's Jirasen; given that both of these guys are taken out in Chapter 36 by Universe 7, and there's a lot of close proximity fighting involving Universes 2, 4 and 10 around this time, Hermila could've been taken out by one of Universe 10's fighters - maybe Jirasen, before Piccolo takes care of him, or perhaps Obuni. Likewise, Lilibeu can't be a scalp for Universe 9, as from a distance at that time we can see the only Universe 10 eliminations are still Murisarm and Rubalt. There aren't many fliers on other teams, so if Universe 2's flier Vikal doesn't tangle with her and take her out, she probably gets sniped by somebody from a distance, as we only see her firing from aloft, in Chapter 33. Maybe Saonel and Pirina from Universe 6 take care of her, stretching their limbs to grab her from a distance - they're shown mixing it up with Universe 10's Napapa early on (and we see him with air support from Zium later, so maybe he links up with the fliers habitually), and also they're near Mechiorp later, so they could be giving Universe 10 a go more generally.
I'm pretty sure we literally never see Vikal in the fight proper in the manga (so maybe she gets taken out by Universe 10's flier Lilibeu, or the stretchy Namekians). I had also thought so for Kyawei, but the Colour Chapter 33 seems to show us that it's her kicking Magetta in the wide shot - otherwise, that's it. Nink and Monna are the only eliminations on Universe 4's bench later on, so Magetta breaking off to attack Universe 7 doesn't indicate he's taken her out; by the time her invisible teammates step up in Chapter 36, though, she's already out (and given the circumstances of her Anime elimination...that's probably for the best).

Thank you for your thorough reply! There is also Nigrissi whose elimination wasn't shown properly. So, 9/80 which is 11.25% of the total contestants, whose elimination is not shown, more than a "each tenth competitor's elimination was not shown" odd. If we add Nigrissi to the mix, we have 10/80 which is 12.5% alas "each 8th competitor's elimination was not shown" odd.Magnificent Ponta wrote: Thu Dec 22, 2022 5:59 pm There actually aren't many of the characters in the Tournament whose eliminations aren't depicted at all in the manga: there's Hermila and Vikal (Universe 2), Narirama and Viara (Universe 3), Monna, Majora, and Kyawei (Universe 4), Dr. Rota (Universe 6), and Lilibeu (Universe 10). Were not a tonne of people thrown out by Kales power up? Was an exhaustive list given of who that was.

Re: How would you write the unseen Tournament of Power manga eliminations?
Nigrissi is shown being blown away by Kale's explosive power-up in Chapter 38, as are other characters who are eliminated at the same time - since Paparoni and his trio are the last remaining competitors from Universe 3 as little as 5 pages hence, there's little question of what was the cause of Nigrissi's elimination.Geraldo wrote: Fri Dec 23, 2022 6:20 amThere is also Nigrissi whose elimination wasn't shown properly.
A number are shown being flung away, but some of them are shown to have survived only to be specifically and immediately knocked out by Kale thereafter. Those eliminated by the blast proper are Zirloin (Universe 2), Maji-Kayo and Nigrissi (Universe 3), and Shosa (Universe 4).TobyS wrote: Fri Dec 23, 2022 7:13 am Were not a tonne of people thrown out by Kales power up? Given the status of almost all the non-Universe 7, 11, or 6 competitors as little more than moveable set dressing for the arc, it doesn't seem that odd that about a tenth of them don't find specific attention.Geraldo wrote: Fri Dec 23, 2022 6:20 amSo, 9/80 which is 11.25% of the total contestants, whose elimination is not shown, more than a "each tenth competitor's elimination was not shown" odd.
While it's fun to speculate on their eliminations, in my opinion there's no real narrative need to detract from the main thrust of the story merely to ensure that, e.g., "Universe 10 Nobody eliminating Universe 4 Nobody" gets depicted. One of the things I actually appreciate about the manga Tournament of Power is how seriously Toyotarou takes the idea that the Tournament is as much a frantic race against time as it is a battle against enemy teams; I think it lends the fight portion of the arc a pleasingly streamlined sensibility.

Say what you will about the anime ToP but it is nice to have every member's elimination accounted for.

I’d give most of them to Damon and Gamisaras. I found it rather weird that they didn’t do anything until their episode came in the anime, in fact it’d provably make more sense if U4 were eliminated much sooner.
