Really, is there anything wrong with them wanting to make a good action movie? Stuff with Pilaf or the Red Ribbon Army isn't going to make an exciting movie. They're just cutting to the good fights.
Dragonball Movie Update! What is UP with this?

Skipping to the Piccolo fight isn't a problem with me. They skipped to the RRA in Path to Power and I love that movie! I just don't want a Dragonball movie that feels like 90-minute long ad for the Orange Bricks. Right now, I'm skeptical that it'll be anything more than that.Chibi Mystic Gohan wrote:Hey, it's all Dragon Ball in the manga, man.

At least I have enough faith that it won't be a 90-minute long ad for Puke-Green Bricks.
It's not like FUNi themselves are making the movie or anything. I'm not too worried about that kind of stuff..

Yeah, but who knows what sources they're using, what language they're looking at said sources in, and if they're catching any of the errors?SSj Kaboom wrote:It's not like FUNi themselves are making the movie or anything. I'm not too worried about that kind of stuff..
They might be like, "Well, he says Kuh-maya-maya so its obviously that."
I'm not worried about it, though.

No. I like that arc, too.Herms wrote:Man, am I the only one who actually likes the Red Ribbon Army?
If by "Gohaan" you mean they pronounced "han" as in "hand" then, yes, that's what I'm talking about.Kid Trunks wrote:Do mean "Gohawn"(correct) and "Gohaan"(incorrect)?Kendamu wrote:If they can pronounce "Kamehameha" and "Gohan" properly they'll be years ahead of a large portion of the dub.

Nope. That's my favorite arc. I think one 12 year old vs. millions of soldiers, giant robots, and the world's greatest assassin is plenty exciting.Herms wrote:Man, am I the only one who actually likes the Red Ribbon Army?Chibi Mystic Gohan wrote:Really, is there anything wrong with them wanting to make a good action movie? Um, when does the dub pronounce Gohan like that?Kendamu wrote:No. I like that arc, too.Herms wrote:Man, am I the only one who actually likes the Red Ribbon Army?

To show my appreciation, I'll only beat them half to death.

Only time I've ever heard "Kuh maya maya" is when they do them really fast. And in those instances it's just because of the speed. Most of the time they seem to do it right, far as I've noticed. But then I don't really give crap how they say it, long as they don't call it "Magic Wave".

The RRA would have been an excellent place to start, really. Hordes of soldiers to fight through always makes for good action. And since they seem to be making Bulma a big weapons person (along the lines of some of her cover shots) it'd give her more stuff to shoot at.Stuff with Pilaf or the Red Ribbon Army isn't going to make an exciting movie.

Agreed. Love that arc much more than some of the later ones.djkalteraphine wrote:Nope. That's my favorite arc. Trunks & Goten forever
I agree, as much as I can't stand the horrible, terrible hair they gave Chatwin, at least Goku is still a man.omegacwa wrote:I think we should all be happy that they didn't do the recent trend in video game adaptations of changing the lead to a girl (Resident Evil, Silent Hill).
Look it's Gokina played by Abigael Breslin!
If the movie changed him into a girl, I would bet money that Vegeta would've turned into her love interest in the sequel.

That prospect makes my brain all... explodey. However, I do agree with what you said. And now I am suddenly grateful for at least one aspect of this movie.Chuquita wrote:

They still say it the old way when talking about it, I believe (as opposed to performing it in a battle sequence), except that they pronounce the "h" instead of the old "y sound.Xyex wrote:Only time I've ever heard "Kuh maya maya" is when they do them really fast. No, I like it quite a lot. But it certainly wouldn't have any place in the kind of movie they're trying to make. A lot of the Red Ribbon stuff was still Toriyama just making gags. The serious martial arts portion of the series didn't really start until the Piccolo stuff.Herms wrote:Man, am I the only one who actually likes the Red Ribbon Army?Chibi Mystic Gohan wrote:Really, is there anything wrong with them wanting to make a good action movie?
