Toyotaro's role in the Dragon Ball Super manga
That's how I wonder how much Toyotaro can claim the rights to Super itself, it's well known that the Dragon Ball brand belongs to Toriyama and Shueisha, but Toyotaro himself not only illustrates Super, but many of the ideas in this manga as well as character designs are his. The main kanzenshuu page in the manga guide says that Toyotaro is the author and Toriyama is in charge of supervision, which is consistent with the Japanese description on the manga covers.
Unlike Japan, many countries (including mine i.e. Poland) change this description where Toyotaro only illustrates and Toriyama is responsible for the stories. Since the Japanese editions of Super explicitly say that Toyotaro is the author of the manga, perhaps this means that he himself has some rights to the franchise for this reason or it could be expelled and replaced by another mangaka from this way, and Toyotaro himself never had any rights to Super.

Re: Toyotaro's role in the Dragon Ball Super manga
Toyotaro is an employee of Shueisha; he does not and would not ever individually own rights to the overall, pre-existing Dragon Ball franchise itself, or the sub-franchise of Super.
But yes, Toyotaro is the "author" of the Super manga in that he is ultimately responsible for both the words and art on the page, independent from / in conjunction with / acknowledging the editorial oversight from Uchida (and everyone at Shueisha), art corrections from Toriyama, etc. etc. etc.
We've done several podcasts on the issue (please see Episode #0489 for the most recent version), have included the aforementioned note on the main Super page of our manga guide on the main website, and (as noted in there) have an extensive entry coming in our rumor guide that expands upon all of that information in one place.
