I am extremely sorry for posting this here but it seems that while Warner Discovery is happy to keep CN around to have family friendly filler until the more profitable Adult Swim starts, CN's viability as a channel is truly over: Warner Discovery will start airing a very exciting new kids line up for Discovery Family Channel or DFC, which includes CN hits such as Steven Universe!? And otherwise being a more exciting channel to watch.

All of these discussions are kosher, because its about how CN is dying, Adult Swim Is Thriving and the final confirmation being this new relaunched venture.

There is also a Spanish-language version of Discovery Family (Discovery Familia), so I hope that will get rebranded along with its original English-language counterpart.

To me, Cartoon Network already died like a decade ago, so... Meh!

Depressed. I grew up on this channel, there were days when I literally just sat next to the TV watching CN from 10 am till 10 at night. I loved all of the shows they aired at the time with one or two exceptions (The Flinstones.. so boring). It wasn't until 2014 that I stopped caring about it. I wasn't a fan of the newer stuff they started airing at the time, like seriously a LEGO ninja show? The moment I saw that I knew I grew out of the channel, but I still kept up with some of the cartoons I loved until they finished airing completely. Now I have all the older shows on my PC, including DB, but there's something magical about watching these on cable that I'm never going to get anymore.

My parents saw my younger cousins watching Cartoon Network at one point saying "Oh look at that, just like you when you were a kid", which, yeah, I know they meant well with but that channel my cousins were being exposed to was and still is, a shadow of what it used to be.

India is where its at. Kai, Super, Dragon Ball Z movies 5-9, 12-13 have all been fully dubbed into five regional languages in the last two years, they've also got My Hero Academia, One Piece, and just yesterday, it was implied (if not outright confirmed) that original Dragon Ball is returning.

I also think the same, I remember CN used to have the best cartoons and anime. They used to have Dragon Ball, Pokemon, Beyblade, Bakugan, Superman, Batman, Static Shock, X-Men, Avengers, Justice League, etc. Then CN was moving anime until there was no more anime. They even removed every super hero cartoon except for TTG. Then every cartoon had to be 11 minutes long per episode, there was no more short cartoon or 20 minutes cartoon.

The quality nowadays of CN doesn't compare to the 90s and early 2000s.

I have my own nostalgia with the network, but I couldn't tell you what's been going on with it. I used to enjoy all of those old Hannah Barbera cartoons they aired. And then, they had some good content with the What a Cartoon Show (spawning the likes is Cow and Chicken, Dexter's Laboratory, Johnny Bravo, etc.).

I loved Toonami and Adult Swim, of course, but as a Dragon. Ball fan, I've long since separated Dragon Ball from Cartoon Network in my mind.

I enjoyed their Boomerang offshoot a long time ago, but then it got to the point where they were airing shows that came along after I stopped watching CN, so I stopped watching Boomerang.

I just hope that their content library ends up on a good streaming platform--Max seems to be it, but there's a lot missing from it. Boomerang has its own streaming service too, but it's also missing content.

Anyway, it was a great run and I'm always sad to see things from my past going away. I don't know what this network became and wouldn't be surprised if it just fell into a pit, but it's still sad.

India once again doing all of us who remember the good old days of Cartoon Network proud.

Bardock : The Father of Goku is set to premiere September 1st with five dubs.

This will probably always be one of the best pieces of Dragon Ball content ever. So glad Indian fans can now see it live, and only a week after the original Dragon Ball makes its grand return to the local Cartoon Network nearly 15 years after its alleged failure, but hopefully it too does well during its broadcast and all 153 episodes are dubbed this time (supposedly it was only 49 the first time and only 15 aired).

Cartoon Network will always remain a staple of my childhood and I'll always remember the CN shows I grew up with. It'll be really sad if they're gone for good.

In case you don't know, their official website was shut down last month and it now redirects to their hub on Max.

Same way that I feel about Toys R Us, Blockbuster and K-Mart. Would I prefer that they be around forever? Well sure, even though I don't care anymore somebody does.

I will always appreciate it too. I still 100% percent believe that the Dragon Ball/Toonami relationship was the right place at the right time for the series to take off here. Would it have found another way? Almost certainly, but probably not in the relatively mainstream way it did.

Definitely a lot of nostalgia, and for more than just Dragon Ball. I just don't need the network to still exist to have those good feelings. More than anything I just hate to see people in the industry lose their jobs.

Honestly, like when toonami stopped in the early 2004. I didn't particularly care because I stopped watching it a few years before. Havent watched cartoon network much or the new toonami. I've just kind of moved

The version of Dragon Ball that I've cared about for >95% of my time as a fan was never played on (American) Cartoon Network, so it wouldn't really affect me.

Now, as a huge Ed, Edd, n' Eddy fan, on the other hand...

This has been making the rounds, hell my brother and dad shared a "RIP Cartoon Network" meme with me and they never try talk nerdy shit with me, but I believe they have just moved to a new domain.

Anyway tomorrow Cartoon Network India may be reaching the point they have yet to move pass in original Dragon Ball with episodes 11-15 of their new dubs set to premier.

I've been told only 15 episodes of the 2010 Hindi dub aired, if true then Sunday next week (September 15th) will mark the first time the channel has aired the 21st Tenkaichi Budokai in the region. That will be a win in my books.

Anyway Cartoon Network India is clearly promoting the original series as they were quick to drop this "New Episodes" teaser despite there being no break, so hopefully that means they have confidence and ratings for the show are better than they were 14 years ago.
