The preorder bonus character is someone who hasn't been in Tenkaichi 3nato25 wrote: Thu Sep 12, 2024 11:57 am Could have had super 17, nouva and eis instead of syn and the lower baby forms. Those are some big omissions.
At this rate I think the bonus character is Z Gogeta, Z LSSJ Broly or Daima Goku (maybe he can transform)

Re: "Sparking! ZERO" Official Announcement & Pre-Release Discussion Thread
I was so happy to see this trailer, and we got everyone we needed pretty much. It is kinda weird to see Super 17 cut since he's been part of the game series since the first one, but I'm not complaining too much. Super 17's only role in GT was to kickstart the Shadow Dragons, so I can see why he's low priority when you have so many characters.
Re: "Sparking! ZERO" Official Announcement & Pre-Release Discussion Thread
Have to say I'm slightly disappointed in the roster. I know the DLC will bump the count up to 200+ and this already has more characters than BT3, so this is just nitpicking on my end, but I was expecting every character returning from BT3 and RB2 plus new Super additions. It feels like a lot of staples are missing.

Re: "Sparking! ZERO" Official Announcement & Pre-Release Discussion Thread
Pleasantly surprised that GT characters are part of the base roster after all. Sounds like Elise Baughman is still voicing that version of Pan too.
Re: "Sparking! ZERO" Official Announcement & Pre-Release Discussion Thread
This was a surprise. I'm glad GT is in the Base Roster. Now i'm expecting the remaining 10 characters to be 5 DB characters and 5 DBS characters
Re: "Sparking! ZERO" Official Announcement & Pre-Release Discussion Thread
Note that all characters are specified as "GT", even when they don't exist outside of that series.
We have "Baby Vegeta (GT)", "Super Baby 1 (GT)", "Super Baby 2 (GT)", "Syn Shenron (GT)" "Omega Shenron (GT)" and "Majuub (GT)".
I don't think specifying "GT" was necessary for them, unless the game really wants you to know that you're selecting a character from GT rather than trying to distinguishing it from another existing version.

No idea where they're going with the slots left. BT3 felt like it had too many characters, this game feels it has too many missing.

Re: "Sparking! ZERO" Official Announcement & Pre-Release Discussion Thread
Our only hope is they go really big with the DLC's and Season Passes and we get a lot of the missing characters from OG Dragonball, DBZ, DB Super and GT in the future, because some big ones are missing.

Re: "Sparking! ZERO" Official Announcement & Pre-Release Discussion Thread
Nova and Super 17 are the only missing GT characters. New GT characters are not omissions because they were never in Sparking. It would be great to have them but this game was about trying to get as many BT3 characters back as possible while adding Super.
Re: "Sparking! ZERO" Official Announcement & Pre-Release Discussion Thread
I heavily disagree. Where is Legic, Rild, the Whip guy of Doll toki, Goten, Gohan (especially the baby posessed versions), Trunks, Vegeta, and all the other dark dragons? If there is a GT DLC pack, I really want all of them included.Buutama42 wrote: Thu Sep 12, 2024 12:18 pm I was so happy to see this trailer, and we got everyone we needed pretty much. I'm happy and sad at the same time. Where's Trunks, Goten, Gohan, Vegeta, all the villains? They should be in the base game*, not DLC. Shame.
edit:
*or at least Trunks and Vegeta.

Re: "Sparking! ZERO" Official Announcement & Pre-Release Discussion Thread
I think Rildo was always a long shot. Maaaaybe he’ll be DLC, but it’s hardly a surprise that he wouldn’t be here. I think it’s more disappointing that Super 17 and Nuova Shenron aren’t here.
Anyway, we’re still missing a couple of key Super characters. I can’t imagine Cabba and Frost not being included, especially when they have Bergamo in this game.

Re: "Sparking! ZERO" Official Announcement & Pre-Release Discussion Thread
Yeah it seems like there are quite a lot of holes in many rosters from GT to Z to Super to nothing from OG DB.
I don't know what route the will take now... I was expecting them to mostly fill in Z and Super so we have pretty much next to nothing left and save OG DB and GT for two big DLCs... but now they went with like a 60% GT lineup, so I have no clue what they will do...
As things look now we are missing :
Some more GT characters.
OG Dragonball has 0 representation so far
DBZ Movies have 0 representation so far
Quite a few Super characters...
So I think the best thing would be just go full in and fill in the rest of the 10 slots with the missing Super characters and let us have some big DBZ movie DLC, OG Dragonball DLC and GT DLC in the future... next to the Super Hero and Daima we will be getting also.
And I think the worst route they could take now is add a couple OG DB characters and DBZ movie characters and basically have characters from everything but pretty much none complete and missing some big names, how will they make DLCS then in the future? It just sounds odd this way.

Do Roshi and Yajirobe not exist? The latter definitely only shows up in games with OG reps.

Re: "Sparking! ZERO" Official Announcement & Pre-Release Discussion Thread
They could always go the XV2 route and just drip feed missing characters in-between dead months with no new releases or characters across a decade.
But it's strange that BT3 included everyone, even Appule and Freeza soldier, and Sparking Zero is leaving movie villains or DB characters for DLC.

Re: "Sparking! ZERO" Official Announcement & Pre-Release Discussion Thread
I would also say that I think it would be somewhat disappointing if Champa and Vados aren’t in the base roster. Sure, there’s not much to go off of with their movesets, but that didn’t stop BT3 from including characters like Selypa.
Re: "Sparking! ZERO" Official Announcement & Pre-Release Discussion Thread
I wonder if eventually all GoDs will be in the game. The manga and anime provides enough to create unique attacks, they're lore powerhouses relevant enough to be included with unique memorable designs, and there's a GoD Exhibition tournament mode in the game.WittyUsername wrote: Thu Sep 12, 2024 5:16 pm I would also say that I think it would be somewhat disappointing if Champa and Vados aren’t in the base roster. I could definitely see a DLC pack of all the other GoDs. They could pull from the manga and Heroes for moveset material. The Tournament of Destroyers is the Universe 6 vs 7 tournament, though.Yuji wrote: Thu Sep 12, 2024 5:25 pmI wonder if eventually all GoDs will be in the game. That one is even more specific. Would be silly not to include Monaka and the entire U6 team.Rinsankajugin wrote: Thu Sep 12, 2024 5:33 pmI could definitely see a DLC pack of all the other GoDs.
