For the first season pass I expect a monthly frequency starting in December.
After that I would also be fine with an outing every two/three months. The important thing is that they add a satisfactory amount of characters.

The GT, OG and SUPER (tournament of power) are the series with the largest number of characters to be included. Only a few characters from the films are left out and they can insert them wherever they want.
Overall I think with 2 more season passes they cover everything. Then they can focus on DBHeroes and the many characters there are. Hell, I'd pay to be able to play with Gohan/Vegetto/Bardock/Broly ss4, Cumber or the various characters from that series!
DB Heroes is a sh*t show, I sure hope we don't ever get those characters in game.

For OG Dragonball you can put in Ninja Murasaki and Teen Goku and Ma Junior (Unless we have a costume for early Goku and Piccolo that will change the moveset for the 23 tournament, there were some things I read that some costumes will change movesets).

I'm almost 100% sure we will never get Moro, Merus, Granola etc.... those characters are manga only for now, I'm 99.999% sure we won't get them, as cool as it would be.

It's also weird how there's no base DBS Broly, it jumps straight to Ikari. Base form would provide good opportunity for character interactions in the opening cinematics and it actually fought for a while, while base Z Broly never did.

Neat list, though there are a few more characters you might want to add:

  • Super Mega Cannon Sigma
  • Ninja Murasaki
  • Major Metallitron
  • Kami/Hero
  • Dr. Kochin
  • Abo
  • Kado
  • Aka
And I know you mentioned "Other ToP Contestants", but I'd personally want to see:
  • Katopesla
  • Majora
  • Dercori
  • Caway
  • Saonel (with Pirina as an assist)
  • Chappil
  • Hop (with Sorrel as an assist)
  • Obuni
  • Napapa (with Methiop as an assist)
  • Kahseral
  • Kunshi
  • Zoiray (with Tupper as an assist)

That's what I've noticed, hopefully he is DLC along with Paragus(Both Super and Z variants).

Yeah, and whats wrong with that? I always can't wait to see what is actually in a game before I play it, any leaks are more than welcomed, I don't get why some people are actually against it and don't want to see it, lol.
Some people like to be suprised when playing the game 😅

It at the very least has more interesting designs, compared to the palette swap special that is DBS.

Game cover has been leaked/revealed.

"Over 180 characters", which basically confirms the 182 number.

That's our roster, folks. Tremendous number, even if you take out the Gokus, Gohans and Vegetas.

182 characters is tremendous! I know that technically they're still missing characters, but still. There could be plenty of options for DLC. With DLC, we know there will be over 200 characters playable. I feel like that will be a new record for a fighting game. There's a game called Tobal 2 that apparently has around 200 playable characters.

Including non-fighting games, Mario Kart Tour has 265 characters. I wonder if Sparking Zero will surpass. Should be easy if it has DLC support as long as games like XV2 & Shinobi Striker have had. Does anyone know off-hand the actual record of playable characters for a fighting game and any video game overall?

I think Mario Kart Tour has the most, if you don't count user created content and mods etc...

Okay but real talk this is insane, if the game continues on for years we will reach 300+ in theory

My only fear is that all major characters are in the base game, which reduces the chances of DLC selling well. I mean, let's not kid ourselves. Cooler's crew won't sell as well as a GT Gogeta pack. Which makes me fear that the game is not intended to go for a long while.

Would love to be wrong, but if the casual DB audience isn't interested in buying less known characters as DLC, the game won't be making those for long.

Hopefully the first season pack will sell well.

Very unlikely given the nature of the industry, but maybe those less popular characters will come as free updates or lumped in with paid DLC for the more important characters like Superhero and Daima DLCs

Do you guys know if Sparking Zero "Ultimate edition" features the physical game?
I would like to buy this edition because of the cool included stuff and to play 3 days earlier of course. And, for me, the physical game is important to have given how important and big this game is
As a big fan of Dragon Ball, I should be expected to hate the live action movie "Dragon Ball: Evolution", but I don't. I don't like it because of the content, but because it gave us Dragon Ball Super:

"Dragon Ball once became a thing of the past to me, but after that, I got angry about the live action movie, re-wrote an entire movie script, and now I'm complaining about the quality of the new TV anime. It seems Dragon Ball has grown on me so much that I can't leave it alone." - Akira Toriyama on Dragon Ball Super.

...Sparking Zero Battle Pass, maybe? Every few tiers, you get a "minor" character, and once in a while, you get a bigger character

Bear in mind that we don't yet know the plans for the next few years. Maybe a new movie comes out or the anime restarts and they add characters like Moro, Granolah etc
I believe that, more or less, with 40/45 characters they manage to cover all the shortcomings of the first series, GT, film and Super.
They can also make a second Daima DLC if the first season pass isn't enough.
