Probably won't be able to play at launch as I (luckily) don't have a PS5 so my opinion doesn't really matter, but the roster is just so...not well handled really. And that's mostly because of trying to be like thw previous entries, ironically enough.

I'm curious about the Daima rep. At the very least should be fun.

Based on the picture my predictions are:

Kid Goku, in the middle between the Gogetas;
Piccolo Daimao, next to the two Piccolos;
God Toppo, next to Toppo;
Frost (First, Final and Third Form) next to Toppo;
Cabba (Base, SSJ, SSJ2), next to Trunks;

Final slot maybe Chi-Chi (wasn't she leaked?), or Bardock (Super) or it might just be Beast Gohan, the latest hot thing pre-Daima.

The lack of Super 17 is a missed opportunity. I think a what-if scenario in the story mode that leads to Android 17 somehow becoming Super 17 in the ToP would have been so insane and awesome.

Anyways I think the last 10 characters will either be... some missing Super characters, the og DB reps, or a combination of both... this is a little difficult to predict now since GT in the base roster really threw a wrench in the predictions, but it is a welcome surprise nonetheless. I still wish we got GT Vegeta though. Hopefully there is a GT DLC that adds more GT characters.

I was so happy to see this trailer, and we got everyone we needed pretty much. It is kinda weird to see Super 17 cut since he's been part of the game series since the first one, but I'm not complaining too much. Super 17's only role in GT was to kickstart the Shadow Dragons, so I can see why he's low priority when you have so many characters.

I heavily disagree. Where is Legic, Rild, the Whip guy of Doll toki, Goten, Gohan (especially the baby posessed versions), Trunks, Vegeta, and all the other dark dragons? If there is a GT DLC pack, I really want all of them included.

You can find most of those characters listed in Dragon Ball Heroes. But in all seriousness, with these kinds of games, they really only cover the most well-known stuff in GT. Nobody really talks about the ones you mentioned (other than wanting base form GT Vegeta). I do like Ledgic and Rildo, but they probably want to cover more well-known stuff in other sagas.

I remember when I made my GT recut, I actually cut out the stuff with Doll Taki, Mutchy, and a lot of other stuff from the Black Star Dragon Ball saga. In my opinion, there's not a lot of noteworthy villains in that saga other than Ledgic and Rildo. The Para Para brothers were funny, I will admit. The other villains kinda just wasted our time, hence why I cut them out.

I can agree with that, they work more as alts than anything. It always kinda annoyed me you could never transform Vegeta into SS4 in the original games, yet you could in Budokai 3 and Infinite World, for both Z and GT Vegeta.

Do Roshi and Yajirobe not exist? The latter definitely only shows up in games with OG reps.

They count as Z characters for whatever reason.

But it's strange that BT3 included everyone, even Appule and Freeza soldier, and Sparking Zero is leaving movie villains or DB characters for DLC.

BT3 had the advantage of porting characters from older games, SZ had to start from scratch and DBS is popular, so they couldn't bring back everyone while having slightly more characters than BT3.

That and greed, Z movies as DLC will be a great way to get more money.

Marketing director mentioned her and Tao Pai Pai, but then later a statement was made saying he's not directly involved in the game, which can mean they're not in the game (Or at least not base game).

I dunno about Beast Gohan being in base game, because Super Hero is already confirmed to be DLC, and they can make that Gohan into four characters (Same with Piccolo if they make Orange and Giant Orange separate), so having Beast Gohan be in base would remove a hook from Super Hero.

Infinite World was certainly odd, even though I enjoyed it. The game felt unfinished in certain areas and made baffling decisions for a "Best of the Budokai series" finale. While it added characters, it had also removed newer ones like Uub from Budokai 3. Considering Infinite World actually incorporated most of GT into its story mode, it was strange to see Uub omitted after they gave him his own story in 3. They also turned some ultimates into supers or just mini-ultimates. Sometimes, moves would be removed altogether like Goku's Warp Kamehameha and Gotenks' Galactic Donuts.
