At a current score of 85, Sparking Zero is currently the highest rated anime arena fighter of all time according to Metacritic

Re: "Sparking! ZERO" Official Announcement & Pre-Release Discussion Thread
I cannot believe my eyes!
The cannon of Dragon Ball, that was established by Akira, Toei and Bandai, is really taking all of fans ideas. First, they cannonized all the recolors we saw growing up (pink hair, green hair, white hair, silver hair, purple hair); then Gohan Blanco was added to the cannon; and now humanity lives long enough to witness Gohan Black being cannonized too! What a time to be alive!
So it was Gohan who defeated Golden Freeza and fought Hit. Then everything goes similarly to the non-cannon timeline (the one where Zamasu sees Goku and decides to switch bodies and etc), only in this more important timeline, Zamasu switches with Gohan. I just wished that Gohan Black had his own form. Super Saiyan Rosé is the power of an actual god combined with the Super Saiyan form, so naturally, Gohan Black should have combined the power of an actual god with Ultimate, thus creating... uh... Ultimate Rosé (!?). As it is, there is no difference between base Gohan Black and Ultimate Gohan Black.
Also, there should have been a fusion somewhere in there. I think the most logical one would be Gohan and Trunks, so Gohanks should have appeared. Then again, according to Dragon Ball Heroes, Gohanks is the Metamoru fusion, so the Potara fusion would be... Trunkhan?
Other than those two missed opportunities, what an amazing scenario that is! Please give me more of that.

Quite late to the party since my last post in this thread was a few months ago, but I still have a few things to say:
- I liked that the opening of this game followed the Budokai Tenkaichi series tradition of mixing villains against heroes.
- I didn’t like that once again, they’re skipping Baby Base and going straight to Baby-Vegeta.
- Not having Trunks (GT) and Super 17 was a odd choice.
- It’s hard to believe they kept the generic 'Freeza soldier' in the RoF arc when they have thugs with cool designs like Tagoma and Shisami.
Other than that, the game seems interesting from what I’ve seen so far. I’m hoping the DLCs cover a lot of the character absences I figured they wouldn’t cut from BT3 (since this game is supposed to be a sequel), and also include some new characters that are rarely, if ever, seen in any other game (Anilaza being one example).

Goku Go Alone Story Path spoilers:
Vegeta early story spoilers:
Frieza early story spoilers:
I wonder if there'll be DLC stories, I'm just imagining a new What If line for Piccolo where he gets the Potential Unleashed form and maybe eventually going Orange against Perfect Cell. Or Gohan getting Beast against Super Buu.
I really hope we get DLC story modes for Goku (Mini), Goku (GT), Gohan (Super) and Piccolo (Super) + Goku (Teen)

I haven't put the game down since I turned it on. I love it here. The switch from BT3 to this was awkward though, took me a second.

WE HAVE A REAL GOHAN BLACK ALL IS FORBIDDEN
Seriously tho, I didn't expwct that level of care. It's mind blowing.
Jiren's wish really should have been the Manga version tho. The one from 17 doesn't fit at all wirh what was said in the anime.

Trunks (GT) has never been in a Sparking! game. They could add him as a costume though, for sure.

Does anyone here realized how bland the menu user interface of the game looks?
I also heard that the game's player AI difficulty at times is brutal, like the Goku vs. Oozaru Vegeta fight in the game's story mode.

The story mode has interesting twists but it's a shame that a lot of narration is done with still pictures.

As someone who doesn't have Sparking! ZERO yet, I can live with it - the Tenkaichi games aren't known for having beautiful cutscenes for the story mode. That's DBZ: Kakarot's thing.Jord wrote: Tue Oct 08, 2024 7:22 am The story mode has interesting twists but it's a shame that a lot of narration is done with still pictures.

It is important to note is that music from the various anime will be placed all over the story episodes where appropriate (both in cutscenes and fights) if you have the music packs (or I can at least confirm pack 1 for now, haven't heard tracks from pack 2 yet).
For example the music of the recap from the Goku Black arc will be used in some recaps or battles during the Goku Black arc (it was also used for both trailers and action scenes in the show), the instrumental version of the Ultra Instinct song will be used during battles involving Goku's Ultra Instinct, etc.
If you want the most immersive story experience, I would recommand to buy the music packs.
If you don't have them both and only buy one, the game should at least place the tracks that you own.
Again, if it does use musics from pack 2, I still don't have a proof of it right now, I'm only sure about pack 1.
On PS5, it comes at the minor cost of having notifications of blocked recording everytime a music from the pack starts or ends, which cannot be turned off even if you deactivate all notifications. It's not that bothering to me and it does make you instantly remark that a music/song from the anime is being used, but I understand that it could annoy some players.
Naturally, it also means that if you use the PS5 streaming system, it will block viewers from seeing the cutscene or the fight altogether. As always with blocked scenes, it does not prevent them from viewing anything if you use an external capture device instead of the PS5 streaming interface.
If you want to stream without copyright issue, you still have the ability to deactivate OST tracks in the Options menu so that the game will stick to the game-exclusive tracks.

The encyclopedia is great, but it is weird that they recognize the movie villains but they don't recognize the Dragon Ball GT characters. Yeah, they are specifically the "Super version", which means the GT events haven't happened yet, but still...

Okay, i can confirm that music pack 2 also gives tracks where appropriate in the story mode!
Re: "Sparking! ZERO" Official Announcement & Pre-Release Discussion Thread
That's cool but paying $30 for a couple of anime tracks is a bit much. That's half of the game's price.

i want to warn everyone not to buy the 2 anime music packs on steam. those have very few songs and OST'S from Z and super but they all in HORRIBLE QUALITY, i'm talking about noisy with really bad static noise for some of them. and aside from the openings and official songs with lyrics all of them are shortend loops for 20-30 seconds and not the full music songs. i had luck that steam agreed to refund them for me. totally waste of money. and it was like 15 dollars per pack (in my local coin). they dont even give you instrumental versions of the openings. its all with lyrics.
what i would want is a way to "chain" multiple fight scene OST'S from the kikuchi score kinda like what the show does. so i wont have to just hear the same 20-30 seconds over and over again. i wish there was a pack that actually worth the money.
edit: it seems you were talking about just that above. ho well. dident saw that before i posted my post but anyway i wanted to share it with you. i was actually hyped when i first saw this on steam but it dosent really worth the money. some of those tracks were so noisy and bad quality it ruined my whole game

In horrible quality? Is the DBZ OST ripped from the muffled optical audio of the anime itself? For the DB Super OST, it makes no sense.SelfTrainedNamekian wrote: Tue Oct 08, 2024 2:59 pm i want to warn everyone not to buy the 2 anime music packs on steam. those have very few songs and OST'S from Z and super but they all in HORRIBLE QUALITY, i'm talking about noisy with really bad static noise for some of them. and aside from the openings and official songs with lyrics all of them are shortend loops for 20-30 seconds and not the full music songs. i had luck that steam agreed to refund them for me. totally waste of money. and it was like 15 dollars per pack (in my local coin). they dont even give you instrumental versions of the openings. its all with lyrics.

FighterZ also had those packs. They were TV sized and looped, but looped with a few seconds of silence between them, making them more distracting than anything.SelfTrainedNamekian wrote: Tue Oct 08, 2024 2:59 pm i want to warn everyone not to buy the 2 anime music packs on steam. those have very few songs and OST'S from Z and super but they all in HORRIBLE QUALITY, i'm talking about noisy with really bad static noise for some of them. and aside from the openings and official songs with lyrics all of them are shortend loops for 20-30 seconds and not the full music songs. i had luck that steam agreed to refund them for me. totally waste of money. and it was like 15 dollars per pack (in my local coin). they dont even give you instrumental versions of the openings. its all with lyrics.

those with the better quality are the ones with lyrics those are the majority of the tracks. official songs with lyrics. very few are actually fight music from the shows.TechExpert2021 wrote: Tue Oct 08, 2024 3:11 pmIn horrible quality? one that was incredibly bad is this preview music from the goku black arc. it was all noisy with static all over.

its like they litterly ripped it from youtube or something and put it in the game. actually you beraly have music there that is more then 30 seconds and it gets really annoying during battle.
another one they had is this one from broly which i like but it way too short for something you want in a fight
