Vegeta's Crew Cut

I've searched and searched and Googled some more, but I just can't find who EXACTLY was responsible for giving Vegeta his Colonel Guile look (with mustache) in DBGT. Was it Toriyama himself or Katsuyoshi Nakatsuru?

Also, how exactly does Earth razors affect Saiyan hair? Wouldn't it break?

Dammit Freddie Mercury! Seriously though, this Toriyama's intention to cut the hair short or was TOEI just taking artistic license. I know Toriyama designed kid Goku, Pan, Gil, and Trunks...who did the rest?

I'm also curious about this, to my knowledge I don't think Mr.Toriyama did Vegeta's redesign.

It doesn't help the bad haircut that the first time we see it, it's drawn horribly by one of the worst animation studios.

It annoys me less when Vegeta is drawn well.

There's something in the Perfect Files about this, which I don't have quick access to at the moment, but I think it does say Toriyama designed him. I know it mentions that Toriyama's daughter hated the mustache, which was possibly an inspiration for Bra hating it.

That picture doesn't mention anything about Toriyama desiging Vegeta's moustache'd form, but the caption has the thing about Bra saying his moustache didn't suit him and him then shaving it off.

Yeah, that's not the part I meant. I just dug up my books, and there's a specific Q&A entry asking where the mustache went in the first PF. (Incidentally, it wasn't Toriyama's daughter, but the daughter of a relative of his. They do imply that this girl saying that it sucked got back to the anime staff and was hence the reason for Bra making him cut it... but then they say they can't guarantee the accuracy of that.)

But more importantly to the original question of the thread, there's a blurb in the first book's encyclopedia about Toriyama's original drafts of the characters, which not only shows drawings of all of the ones he designed (Vegeta is one of them), but mentions that the anime staff was particularly shocked by Vegeta's new design. He designed all of Gokuu and Vegeta's family members, plus Uub, Satan, and farmer Kuririn.

What is the title of that book? It doesn't sound very accurate but it does seem interesting.

I agree, if they had to change Vegeta's physical appearance I say that is how they should have done it. Of course he would have looked better if they had left him how he was and avoided creating that major plot hole but hey, it's GT.

She's talking about the two GT Perfect Files books. They're the official guidebooks to GT.

I could have sworn that at one point it was said that Saiya-jins cannot or do not cut their hair and they keep the same hair style throughout their life.
