Interesting, I have never seen those before. Thanks! I wonder how they got them without the backgrounds. Surely they didn't crop them all out themselves?FortuneSSJ wrote: Sat Oct 26, 2024 5:08 pmCharacter renders: https://en.bandainamcoent.eu/dragon-bal ... o/fightersThe S wrote: Sat Oct 26, 2024 4:55 pm Where did these character images come from?

Question for people who are playing, does the game include any post Super anime content? Things that appeared in the manga like Ultra Ego or even Vegetas spirit fission.

I don’t think Bandai Namco is permitted to use manga-exclusive material in Dragon Ball video games.Brettjr25 wrote: Sat Oct 26, 2024 7:41 pm Question for people who are playing, does the game include any post Super anime content? Outside of some characters like Super Broly & DLC being announced for the Gammas from Super Hero, no.Brettjr25 wrote: Sat Oct 26, 2024 7:41 pm Question for people who are playing, does the game include any post Super anime content? Also, while it's not been confirmed, a lot of people speculate that Bandai Namco doesn't have a license to use any Super manga-only content, which would definitely explain things like why for the longest time, Xenoverse didn't put Super Saiyan God Vegeta into the game until way after Super Broly was a thing (unless I'm forgetting if he was actually added to the game before then).
And, no, I don't count Super Saiyan God Goku being able to wear his Res F gi as them using manga-only content in this game, as it's more of them giving the Goku variant from Super that outfit because he wears it in that movie/arc & since he can go SS God, they let you put that outfit on him in the character select screen. So, it's more of an unintended reference than anything.
Only dubs that matter are DB, Kai, & Super. Nothing else.

There are a few things that reference the manga, but nothing from the post-ToP arcs, and it mostly just feels like them sneaking in winks and nods without having to include manga-exclusive forms and characters.
There's probably some mandate at work forcing the devs' hands, otherwise I don't think we'd still be getting little easter eggs in the games.

Modern DB story arc scores:

Re: "Sparking! ZERO" Official Announcement, Pre-, & Post-Release Discussion Thread
At most, they're references, whether intended or not. It's like Kakarot taking influence from the Super manga for how Trunks would deal with Babidi & his forces showing up in his timeline, which was also partly shown in the anime, or Ultra Supervillain Vegeta being clearly inspired by Ultra Ego Vegeta. However, unless Toei adapts the unadapted arcs from the Super manga, or takes things from it & put them in a future anime product, they're seemingly locked off from the games being able to use them.Mr Baggins wrote: Sun Oct 27, 2024 6:40 pm There are a few things that reference the manga, but nothing from the post-ToP arcs, and it mostly just feels like them sneaking in winks and nods without having to include manga-exclusive forms and characters.

This game has so much detail and so many characters, providing so many different scenarios that I haven't even thought about the missing manga characters (even though they are the strongest characters of the franchise ATM and would fit like a fucking glove here).
If they ever add those unlucky 5-10 characters to this... oh, be still my foolish heart.
I hope that the SH DLC gives Broly his current outfit, the same one he wears in chapter #103 of the manga.

It’s not the manga characters that i’m missing. It’s Pikkon, Super 17, and other characters from previous games. I adore Pikkon’s flashy tornado attacks.Koitsukai wrote: Sun Oct 27, 2024 7:26 pm This game has so much detail and so many characters, providing so many different scenarios that I haven't even thought about the missing manga characters (even though they are the strongest characters of the franchise ATM and would fit like a fucking glove here).

SSB Vegeta has Gamma Burst Flash and SSBE uses the manga design.
Zamasu attacks with Kachin blocks.
UI Goku adopts a manga pose when you emote.
Roshi fights Jiren in a what-if scenario.
Those are the only ones I've noticed.

So, how does this compare to Budokai Tenkaichi/Raging Blast?

It's essentially the same game as Tenkaichi 3 with a new optional control scheme and way faster paced.Kamiccolo9 wrote: Tue Oct 29, 2024 3:02 am So, how does this compare to Budokai Tenkaichi/Raging Blast?

Well I've redeemed the Victory Pack DLC code (it's the one where Saiyans get that V shaped aura) and getting ready to buy me a Japanese region physical copy of the game tomorrow. Ironic how importing a Japanese copy from Hong Kong is gonna cheaper than buying it locally in Canada. I'd essentially save about $15 Canadian dollars.
I've thought about going digital but for a game in the Dragon Ball franchise, I want it physically this time. I went digital on DBZ Kakarot (Switch) last time but that's because I got the PS4 version in physical disc.

There's a mod "Nocky's Name Fixes - Original Japanese Names and Terms" that might be just for you.TechExpert2021 wrote: Sat Oct 26, 2024 1:54 pm Did fans made mods for Sparking! So, almost a month went by and I'm still not even close to being done with this game, there's so much I can still do, the story mode isn't even half over yet, lol.
If they ever add the option to add more than one stage in Custom Battle, I might never sleep ever again.

My copy finally shipped out from Hong Kong today. Should be arriving within the next 10-12 days. Hopefully, I don't get any customs charges for this. Canadians and their taxes makes things very anti-consumer friendly.
Reason I'm importing is because I bought the Japanese version. It's cheaper and the Japanese release has Japan exclusive DLC packs.

I find it odd that Future Trunks has no interactions with Dabra and Babidi.

Aw man, I poured my heart into a massive post right before the forum crashed, and now it's vanished into the digital void, like tears in the rain.
Well, I'm finally giving this game a chance and I'm having a great time. The visuals are jaw-dropping, and for someone like me who loves arena fighters for Dragon Ball, the gameplay is great. I'm not really a fan of Episode Battles as a story mode, but I'll respect them for trying something different.
My biggest letdown? The lack of customization. Raging Blast 2 will always be my top DB arena fighter for that exact reason. I loved being able to mix and match skills, set handicaps, and create any kind of battle scenario I wanted - whether it was a classic anime fight or some wild new matchup I dreamed up. The customization options were just next level. In this game, Custom Battles feel not only more complicated but also way more restricted compared to the free-for-all fun of versus mode in RB2.
And that's not even mentioning the special events that happened in RB2 if you set up the fights just like the anime. For instance, having a team of Goku, Kuririn, and Gohan against Vegeta and losing with Goku after gathering energy for the Genki-Dama would actually trigger a scene just like in the anime where Kuririn would get the Genki-Dama from Goku, leading all the way to Gohan bouncing the sphere back at Vegeta. To be fair, I didn't think THIS would be in the game, but I mention it just to show how RB2 was next level when it came to trying to be like the anime.
I'm still gonna enjoy this game for a while, but it's sad to think I won't be spending countless hours on it like I did with RB2. What can I say? I miss playing with my digital DBZ toys haha
