It's like they just looked at the character designs and picked the voices based off of that. Like yeah, Goku doesn't look all that old, let's give him the voice of someone who's known for mostly playing teenage boys in tv shows and movies, what a great idea.
I wasn't really expecting István at all. His casting as Goku feels like something that was done at the last minute since as you say and I can confirm, Baráth is the main choice for teenagers and thus, he gets called a lot.
Damn, even another one of the main choices for teenager voices (Adam Czeto) is there. Maybe he got casted as one of the Gammas. Even though they wouldn't be their first DB character since he already voiced Kyabe in Super.
If I were to guess, Rókus Varga is probably either Broly or Cell Max and Szabolcs Seszták is either Dr. Hedo or Yajirobe's new voice.
It worked with Vegeta in Super didn't it? Oh wait, no it did not, pretty much no one thought Vegeta's new voice was fitting for the character at all, and yet they still called him back.
Even though I usually like Roland Czeto's dubbing work, his Vegeta was really a miscast because he makes Vegeta sound like a nice guy trying to do a tough voice.
Although I don't blame him for returning since none of the former voice actors of Vegeta were likely to return (Zoltán F. Nagy currently lives in the U.S and Péter Bószo wasn't really fond of working on Dragon Ball).
Meanwhile Chick Csaba Kristián, Piccolo's VA, wasn't even asked to come back, as confirmed by him on Facebook. It's so dumb and shows a lack of care for the IP.
It's really a shame that when his character gets the spotlight in a movie, they don't even care to call him.
