And that's exactly why he's so high up. People love Goku, people love Vegeta, they are top 1 and 2 respectively, so of course the character that is literally both of them is going to rank high.

I've stopped following it. With both Majin Buus being so low, I'm like "why bother at this point?"

Piccolo being # 4 is the only silver lining for me.

Freeza being lower than Cell is also a shame since Freeza is the better character to me. For me, Cell is more of a glorified plot-device due to his generic characterization (he looks cool though).

As I said earlier though, it's a literal popularity contest so none of this is surprising given the stuff that's generally popular.

Now that I think about it, it's not even the 40th anniversary of the original manga. That was last year; the original manga started in 1984, so the 40th anniversary was in 2024.

Why are they saying this is for the 40th anniversary of the manga? The anime's 40th anniversary is in 2026; is this supposed to create hype for that? But this is a manga-centric poll, so that doesn't make sense.

In any case, why couldn't they have just done a DBS characters poll to celebrate the 10th anniversary of DBS, which started in 2015? Would've made a lot more sense than doing an OG manga characters poll in 2025.
