I don't think this has ever been confirmed to be the case? Neko Majin and Kuriza have shown up in games before, despite never appearing in animated content.Scsigs wrote: Sun Jan 25, 2026 3:36 amUnless they get adapted into the anime, no. They seem to really like tying all their promotion together time-wise, though, so it seems safe to say they'll start appearing in multi-media content as their animated arcs come out.
Re: "Dragon Ball Super: The Galactic Patrol" (20??) Discussion Thread
AFAIK, they only appeared in that special Japan-only edition of Budokai 2. That was a limited release through copies of V-Jump I'm pretty sure to promote the release of the Neko Majin chapter they were in because Toriyama was writing it at the time & had it be an out-of-continuity crossover with Dragon Ball. So, I assume that was a special deal made with Shueisha & V-Jump specifically as promo material. Outside of that, nothing that wasn't adapted into any of the anime materials from the manga has been adapted into the games. I think we would've gotten Moro, Granola, Black Freeza, & whatever else already if they were allowed to. And I'm sure that's because Bandai sublicensed the shit through Toei rather than Shueisha because, also, Bandai hasn't made any toys or anything for manga-only shit either if no one's noticed. I think they would've by now if they could.Cipher wrote: Sun Jan 25, 2026 3:47 amI don't think this has ever been confirmed to be the case? Yeah, that logo color change is awesome. Gives Super this cosmic, ethereal feel that fits much more than the original color they went with. And like others have said, I think this is part of them rebranding this new Super as THE SUPER. Like, Super: Beerus all the way to Super: Galactic Patrol is a whole new series, completely separate from the original 2015 Super. Essentially, Super Kai (which is even how Ajay said Toei is describing it internally). And the fact that the arcs will now be a part of the series title is very interesting. Kind of confirms that Toei is making Super more of a seasonal type of thing from now on.DragonBalllKaiHD wrote: Sun Jan 25, 2026 1:10 am Has anybody noticed that the “Super” part of the logo has changed to a different color in both BEERUS and Galactic Patrol posters? I really like the new touch up. I assume this will be the new logo going forward?
I can't wait, man. All the content they have to adapt from Moro, Merus, the Yardrat stuff, the big Beerus reveal, Ultra Ego, Black Freeza, Granolah, the Heeters, just wow. Also, obviously I think Super Hero will be readapted into 2D form, which should be cool. And as someone who doesn't hate the dub (well at least not the Kai/Super/Daima dubs), I'm really looking forward to see who they choose to be the voices.

Toriyama's name sells better to the average Dragon Ball fan. It's all about money at the end of the day. Agree sadly. They definitely leaned into Toriyama's name heavily in these announcements. Like someone said shortly after Toriyama passed, Toei and Shuiesha are probably going to slap Toriyama's name on everything they can to sell new Dragon Ball. And that person was right. At least, the Age 1000 game actually has characters and concepts that Toriyama designed so they're not exactly lying there. But yeah, Toyotaro is kind of getting the short end of the stick. I think we all know a lot of Super's ideas were Toyotaro and Toei's based on limited notes Toriyama gave them. But I figure when Super eventually reaches the Black Freeza arc in the anime, they'll start giving Toyotaro more credit since this will be his first arc writing without Toriyama's supervision. Until then, it will probably be all Toriyama and understandably so, even if it's not fair.Trouser wrote: Sun Jan 25, 2026 4:17 amToriyama's name sells better to the average Dragon Ball fan. Re: "Dragon Ball Super: The Galactic Patrol" (20??) Discussion Thread
So, a few random thoughts.
1. The Japanese version of the Galactic Patrol arc has the "Galactic Patrol" part in Japanese above the English letters, which reminds me of how Toei has "Masked/Kamen Rider [X]" written under the Japanese versions of the titles for each series.
2. I kinda hope they'll finally adapt Jaco the Galacric Patrolman into an anime mini-series. Just think about it. They're redoing Super in this truncated, remastered format & the next unadapted arc being put into the anime is one titled "Galactic Patrol." It'd make the most sense to finally adapt that manga into the anime with that so we have more of an understanding of who Jaco is for those that haven't read the manga (which is most of the audience outside of Japan).
3. I don't think they're gonna add much that's substantial, but apparently this had Toriyama's direct input when they were planning it out a few years ago & he added lore & characters to these arcs. So, we're essentially getting a director's cut version of these arcs. So, it makes sense under that context, other than hype & promotion, for them to be doing condensed retellings of the prior arcs. It'd also make sense if they were to do an extended retelling of Broly, since it takes place directly after the Tournament of Power & before Moro, reincorporating the stuff they left out of the movie from the original script. It'd also probably work the best as a TV arc so you can pace out the backstory episodes & whatever else Toriyama originally wrote since the reason they cut it was pacing to bring it closer to 2 hours.

Seeing the Beerus trailer it still seems that it is true to the OG Beerus aka no SSJ4 or SSJ3 Vegeta against Beerus. So do you think they will completey ignore Daima or try to fit it in later?

They aren't gonna spoil such an insane twist to many fans through a game. I doubt FighterZ will be getting more updates by the time this arc finally arrives animated, yet alone the end of said arc.
Black Frieza in games is gonna be in the 2030s at earliest.

I just realized this also means we'll get to see Daikaioh in action for this arc and with a voice actor. I wonder who they'll choose. For the dub, will they bring back Phil Parsons, let Josh Martin be the voice, or get a new voice entirely? I'm betting on the latter.

Can't believe after all these years the continuation of Super is actually happening. I enjoyed the Moro arc in the manga so quite looking forward to seeing it adapted. Hopefully the year and a half wait will be worth it if Capsule Corp Tokyo take their time to make this as great as it can possibly be.

Yeah, seeing a bit more of Dai Kaioshin and Kaioshin of South will be cool. Some other appearances to look forward to. Hopefully Toei doesn't bloat the saga too much to get to these parts, it's already long enough in the manga.mecha3000 wrote: Sun Jan 25, 2026 5:26 am I just realized this also means we'll get to see Daikaioh in action for this arc and with a voice actor.

Uub is a cameo, but definitely one to look forward in part due to the repercussions that will come along surround him.
Yes. Most of the major players are going to appear in games. I say "most" because a lot of characters from Universe Survival saga as well as teenagers Goten and Trunks from Dragon Ball Super Super Hero still haven't appeared yet, so it's possible Moro goons (if he has any) will not appear either.ZeroNeonix wrote: Sun Jan 25, 2026 3:13 am It's finally happening. Toei Animation doesn't hire in-house writers. Sometimes, a director might do some credited writing on a film that they are directing (One Piece: Stampede was co-written by Tomioka Atsuhuro with Director Ootsuka Takashi, if memory serves), but all writers for most anime across the industry in general are freelance. People can work with whoever they want.Scsigs wrote: Sun Jan 25, 2026 3:36 amUnless they get adapted into the anime, no. I mean, I assume they had normal writers that work for Toei on most of the scripts rather than freelancers. And even then, your point actually makes it worse because the showrunners should then know how the characters are supposed to be written & do corrections on the scripts. That's part of the whole point of a showrunner.JulieYBM wrote: Sun Jan 25, 2026 3:20 am The writing is based entirely on direction given by people above the pay grade of freelance writers being brought on to create scripts for a series they are ultimately beholden to the whims of series directors and producers. The way that all of the characters are written with heightened traits is intentional to appeal to the general audiences watching the series and aren't exactly reflective of the staff's writing abilities, because they all ultimately work on other projects with other edicts that guide how they approach their writing, too.
Which is all to say, they just need to be told that they don't need to write the characters so big as a way to appealing to kids.
The series directors are aware that there are differences between the characters in the manga and anime. They're intentional. That's how adaptation works. Everyone has their own styles and approaches to doing their jobs and those are also often balanced against the limitations placed on them by the circumstances of production, which often include network limitations as well as producing and creative philosophies.

Well a bit confussed.
1.Are they going to do the super anime continuation from the manga? Or JUST the Moro arc and nothing more?
2.When can we expect the anime to start airing?

I can’t believe how much long it took, but yeah, it’s real this time. Considering the episode count, maybe December 2027? We will probably have a Broly retelling right in the middle.

Re: "Dragon Ball Super: The Galactic Patrol" (20??) Discussion Thread
Rightfully not, but I’m trying to figure it out based on Beerus’ new episode count of 6 episodes. I’ve seen comments of Golden Freeza being 6 episodes as well. So, let’s say, for example, an episode total count of 60 until Galactic Patrol, then perhaps not before a year or so. Just a little fun speculation.JulieYBM wrote: Sun Jan 25, 2026 9:33 amWe don't know what the episode count is going to be yet.Hugo Boss wrote: Sun Jan 25, 2026 9:23 am I can’t believe how much long it took, but yeah, it’s real this time.
