It’s been a month and so since my last post here, and honestly, not much has changed. Legends hasn’t been doing too great lately; I’ve been reading a lot of criticism on Reddit and honestly, it makes sense. The game’s hit a level of power creep where SP units aren’t as relevant as they used to be, and triple ULTRA teams have become pretty common in PvP. I thought the new SSJ4 Vegeta was cool (the last one was back in 2019), but I feel like he should’ve been an LL SP, not an ULTRA. Spent a ton of CCs, but sadly, I couldn’t get him. Then they did a GT boost campaign, but until now it seems pretty lackluster. What’s the point of a LL SP SSJ3 Goku (GT) that doesn’t even revive to transform into SSJ4? That was a weird choice. As for the supporters, well, they have potential, but the way to maximize them right now isn’t great, so we’ll have to see how that develops moving forward.

About the story so far...

Man, I was about to lose it when I saw Zahha summoning all those Metal Coolers to fight Shallot and the others. I thought it was gonna be more filler until the promised final battle, but I was actually pleasantly surprised: Gohan, Cabba, and Hit took care of the army while the trio went after Zahha. The bomb thing, even though it’s already happened with Rildo, still caught me off guard, and damn, did Gohan really die? Seriously? Well, looks like Hit’s gonna handle these guys pretty easily. Also damn, I totally forgot Legends had the license to swear lol

Anyway they find Zahha and another weird thing was that Goku seems pretty comfortable in a 3v1 fight, which in Super would’ve been totally out of character for him. I don’t remember the details since he got involved in the battle with Zahha, but it’s actually been pretty consistent. And speaking of the villain, seems like he’s got something up his sleeve, probably a transformation. Zahha suffers from still having a design that makes him look like an 'good' ally, though. It’s about time he got a more threatening form.

Dark blue is characters on the battlefield, grey is present but beaten down.
Light blue is not confirmed in the proximity of the battlefield and green are non combatants.
The Resistance are arranged *roughly* in order of power but I didn't want to break up pairs of characters and such. Chaozu is unclear if he's Cell Games or Saiyan arc. Some saiyans like Bardock and Nappa might have got a lot of Zenkais by now.
Purple at the bottom are like the anniversary characters that might not be canon.

With the death of Gokua, we are down to just Zaha, Black and sealed Zamasu as enemies. Unless they bring Majin Vegeta and Nova Shenron back.

I'm wondering how this is gonna end, if MUI Goku will appear, if Shallet will appear again and if Giblet and thus Shallet will finally get Blue.
It feels like even a fused Goku Black would not be a threat to the new Zaha who can basically two shot Goku
Broly will be interesting.

Story spoilers: So weird how they didn't just kill off Paragus. Wonder why they won't have him power scale to Super Saiyan Broly. The sometimes use, perhaps unintentionally Manga scaling, have the U6 saiyans in SS2 be closer to the classic ss2s then god level.
But they have used Kaioken Goku. They sidestepped Beerus by sealing him.
They haven't used UI yet.
It seems they are being precious about surpassing Broly/Gogeta/Kaioken blue goku (without hax omni crystal)
I know they perhaps can't adapt manga stuff or at this late stage perhaps can't adapt super hero, but I don't see why they are capping the power there.

They made a point of the half useful group, Hit, Gohan etc of having being healed but asleep still.

The big unanswered questions are:
1. Will we see: UI, Super Saiyan Broly, Blue Giblet, Blue Shallet
2. How will they finish Black, he's the only secondary villain left other then generic "duplicates".
3. Will we see the modern Dragon Team outside Goku, Beerus and Jaco. Present Tenshinhan and such wouldn't be overpowered story helpers at this point. They seem to not want to play with too many of the same version at the time, it seems Majin vegeta is the vegeta representation here.
4. If they do kill the boss, he had Shin trapped somewhere, what's up with that, it feels kind of funny he hasn't threatened shins safety, perhaps he doesn't know Shin matters to anyone other than Beerus, I bet you we don't see him freed or addressed lol.
5. Dende is still hidden by Beerus but Beerus is sealed, didn't they use Dendes DB's already, if the conflict won't last more than a year just let him out lol.
6. How will they end Vegeta and Nouva Shenron, let them die in battle or officially become part of the resistance.

Things we probably won't get answered but I hope we do:
1. Were any of the legends event stories canon except that freeza one, e.g. Gogeta vs Vegito, blue vs ss4. What happened to those characters.
2. When EXACTLY in the timeline does this take place.
3. Will anyone remember it.
4. What will happen to the twins.
5. Any Supreme Kaioshin of time/time patrol xover stuff?
6. The Goku and Z Broly from the start of the game.
7. Is Resistance Chaozu saiyan saga or Cell games era? There's been 2 sets of humans but the saiyan saga ones got wiped out. Wasn't saiyan saga Tenshinhan with Chaozu originally, but then we see them die to Black and a chaozu show up at base later.
8. A manga adaption ala Heroes.

A little over two months since my last post here and things have actually changed quite a bit. There's this event going on where you can collect manga covers/illustrations to celebrate the franchise’s 40th anniversary, and I’ve gotta say, it’s pretty neat and interactive. Got lucky and managed to pull both Vol. 26 manga cover Goku and Scooter SSJ Gohan from one of the manga illustrations (both were great for bonus stacking medals to grab the rest of the covers) and something kinda crazy happened: while I was trying to summon one of these, I accidentally clicked on the ULTRA YLW Namek SSJ Goku banner and somehow got insanely lucky and pulled him. In PVP I used to struggle even having a top tier unit like ULTRA FP Freeza, but with this Goku on my team plus SP RED Krillin, getting five wins in a row and climbing past BR 50 became easy.

Sadly, it didn’t last long...

Legends Fest dropped and I thought the first units were pretty lackluster... another Gogeta and Janemba? I skipped them for a bit to save Chrono Crystals, and then they released a Platinum Equip for the old ULTRA RED Namek SSJ Goku, which ended up being pretty useful for my PVP team too. But the problem is they recently did the same for ULTRA YLW UI Sign Goku… and I don’t even have that guy. Back when he was relevant he was already annoying with all the auto-dodge stuff and the character-locking during his combos, and now he’s even worse with that new equip. Losing in PVP now has back to being the norm.

Let’s see if the next units in part two of Legends Fest make up for it.

About the story so far...

So yeah, just like I expected, Zahha got a new form. The design is… okay, I guess, but it really reminds me of Bojack. Anyway, I don’t get if they’re saving Goku using Ultra Instinct for some big climax later in the story. I mean, I know this Tournament of Time saga happens not long after the Universe Survival arc and Goku hasn’t mastered it yet, but still, I’m curious to see when they’re gonna do it.

So let me get this straight: Zahha hates having to rely on the Omnificence Crystal to get the power he needs to beat his enemies, but he still has enough pride to give them a fair fight to the point of even healing them? How amusing.
It’s interesting that Hit’s Time Skip works and actually bothers Zahha a little, but honestly, I found it kinda lazy that it suddenly stopped working just because he wished for it through the crystal. Geez.

Can Legends just let characters die already? I really thought Paragus would die acting as Broly’s shield and then we’d finally get SSJ Broly vs. Zahha, but apparently that’s not what’s happening…

Funny thing is, I didn’t even remember Nappa surviving the battle against Freeza the first time Shallot turned into a SSJ, but I looked it up and it seems he reveals he’s alive during the SSJG ritual. Don’t ask me how, I can’t remember. It’s wild that he thinks Saibamen would be useful against Zahha, but what can I say? Power levels in Legends are just as atrociously inconsistent as in DBZ and DBS.

And after all this stalling, we’re finally getting Round 2: Shallot, Giblet, and Goku vs. 2nd form Zahha. So yeah, it’s pretty easy to say the story barely progressed at all since the last time I talked about it.

When EXACTLY in the timeline does this take place.

Uh, I thought it was pretty clear that Legends story takes place right after the end of the Tournament of Power.

This game is from 2018, months before the Broly movie even came out in Japan, which explains why he only showed up in the story way later. And if I had to guess, I think they will not add to the story the stuff that came after, like Beast Gohan and Orange Piccolo.

They incorporated broly which was set right after so presumably it's after that.

I guess like a lot of media they can't or won't include the manga exclusive stuff.

Probably too late to introduce super hero stuff and it's after the manga arcs they can't include and it's probably too late.

They included like filler and movie characters, have they ever used like hatchyiack or android 21? Or heroes/xeno characters?
I'm assuming they might have some characters playable but not part of the story.

I don't play mobile games, but I just saw the trailers of SSJ2 Gohan SSJ Goku, Hit and the character models are incredible!

Almost two months since my last post here and yeah… Legends Fest happened, but I didn’t have much success with it. I only pulled Gotenks and Janemba from both initial banners and the ULTRA one... I must’ve done the rotation more than five times and still didn’t get FP SSJ4 Goku. It sucks, but it is what it is, especially considering I had insanely good luck with ULTRAs overall in 2025.

More recently, there was another DAIMA banner with SSJ3 Vegeta (mini) and Tamagami #2. It feels weird to me because the mini versions of the characters should’ve come first and then the adult ones, but I get that they wanted to drop these for the hype. Anyway, I only managed to get Tamagami on that one, and now we’ve got the ULTRA Boohan banner, which so far I’ve completely failed to summon.

About the story so far...

Mate, the idea of using a Spirit Bomb to defeat Zahha is fine, but it’s kinda cheesy. Man, I totally forgot that Kid Goku was introduced in the story, probably because he still hasn’t had any interactions with the main cast. Huh, Bardock, as far as I remember he hasn’t interacted with Goku and yet he calls him by name? That’s weird.

It wouldn’t be a Legends chapter without that part where we waste time fighting minions, but damn, Zahha can summon three Evil Buu? That’s wild! And the chapter ends with Giblet cornered, Shallot and Goku defeated… anyone else smell that? Yeah, Ultra Instinct, and it makes sense considering that in this story Goku probably hasn’t even come close to mastering that technique yet.
