Damn, that 2D animated cut scene was a nice surprise. I wish the production committee partners would do a new weekly series, just to toy around with this game's story in an expanded television anime format.

All of the characters in XV from the series exist in this nebulous frozen in time zone of their lives. It shouldn't be any surprise that it's her.

Right, but it's an entirely different thing to pluck the characters from the current day into the future, and have a version of Bulma which apparently has survived through some means 200 years into the future.

I hope it's a descendant with the same name or our Bulma but she's just been transported into the future and has been trying to get back. If this is the same Bulma who has abused Shenlong wishes to stay young, then that just epitomizes the way the Dragon Ball corpse is artificially kept alive without letting go of the past.

Someone said (I don't know where they got this) that it's our Bulma who now jumps between the current and future timelines; she's not stuck. As for why she's doing this, that's yet to be revealed. I read a theory that states all the timelines could be fusing together into one timeline in the Age 1000, where every character from every era will be present there. You could have Cell arc Gohan, Future Gohan, and current Gohan all hanging out together for example.

I’m quite pleased to see that this appears to be more of a spiritual successor to prior Xenoverse than anything else. I see nothing of Conton City, the Time Patrol, Trunks, etc. That’s a relief, because if it were essentially just “Xenoverse 2 but with more stuff” and the same history correcting storyline, I wouldn’t be interested at all. That concept had over a decade to flesh out.

I wonder if it’s like a Battle of Gods situation, where they had a concept in mind and maybe asked Toriyama to do a few designs but he ended up getting way more involved, thereby replacing something that looked a lot more like XV2.

The events of XV are way earlier in the timeline, aren't they?

It should also be said. For Xenoverse, all of the characters from the shows & movies that show up in the hub world seem to be from timelines that are similar to the ones seen in them, but aren't supposed to be them. So, it really doesn't matter if it IS main timeline Bulma, it's more than likely her from an alternate timeline. All of these games like XV work on that logic so they can fuck around with everything however they want & they mean nothing to the ongoing anime & manga projects.

So far it's looking rather disconnected from X1/2 so that's promising. I'm so done and overwith the Time Patrol.
A brand new Toriyama™ sounds promising too. It's certainly gonna be DBO 2.0, same concept of a "Dragon Ball world in the futureeeeeee!" but in that same vein, slightly sad that it is not a literal DBO 2.0 reworked and updated for the modern era. I wonder if any concepts of ideas from it will be re-used and re-done yet again just like it happened with Xenoverse and Heroes.
Something that got me really curious is the idol demon girl. Will this be using Daima things? Or will it be Xeno/Heroes Demon Realm? A weird mix? And if Demon Realm denizens are in Earth, normally enough to the point one is famous idol, wonder what will be with the other races.
Guess this will finally be the fabled "there's no canon in Dragon Ball trust me bro Toyotaro said so" timeline lol.

Just had a thought about Bulma

Couldn't Bulma potentially be a clone of the original Bulma? I don't think Bulma would want to live forever if it means leaving behind her Prince. So she just clones herself with her memories without worrying about the implications.

I know there's Time Travel in the Xenoverse series but it seems they might be leaning away from it?

Only a few DB characters would still be alive in this time, Namekians, Majins and people like Master Roshi.

Bulma could've made AI-Copys of her friends to teach the heroes of Age 1000, that explains Xeno Goku. Though what makes this theory fall apart is her making AI-Copys of Cell or Frieza. Also I doubt Beerus would approve having an AI-Copy of himself.

The only thing I want in XV3 is better AI, way less grind, and have all the DLC from XV2 be in the base game. I also wish they would go all out on what if stuff. I always felt like Dragon Ball what if stories always play things safe.

I'm torn on the idea if only because it's coming from a guy—Toriyama—who clearly doesn't really respect women and is probably doing this without really thinking about whether it makes him look somehow even worse. You know, putting aside the fact that he has never had to actually put up with criticism for how he portrays women and shall never have to.

That being said, I'm not really against the idea of someone using whatever means they can to control their appearance for what I hope is a pretty obvious reason lol. I think there's an interesting character thread to follow there in why Bulma or women in general would use means to remain in a young body. Of course, I also don't expect this game to have the integrity to address that, either lol

So, XV3 is basically continuing what the last several DLCs of 2 were setting up; actually playing with the time travel concept of the games' stories. And not just the Future Saga stuff, but ever since they introduced Fu into the mix. There's a reason, why out of all the DLCs, the ones Fu's been in as the main antagonist have had the most excitement around them. It's what a lot of people wanted for years, but expanded to a full game that they can devote the time & resources to. Plus, revamp things like the graphics & hopefully the gameplay to be better.

Things I'm hoping for are everything from XV 1 & 2 to come back. Characters, the campaigns, the moves, etc. I don't want them nickel & diming us. They should do it like IOI did for the last 2 Hitman games where the campaigns from the previous 2 carry over to the next via DLCs that you get for free if you own the previous games. That allows people to play the previous content with the new gameplay elements & graphics. IMO, I don't think we would've got the campaign from XV1 in 2 if the game wasn't ported to Switch & they didn't wanna port 1 to Switch as well. I also hope that we can play as our previous CACs because the fact that they haven't patched that into XV2 is insane to me. I don't expect to be able to change their skills, but being able to play as them at all in the various online modes would be nice.
