Tenkaichi 2 vs Tenkaichi 3
Over the year's I've seen so much love for Budokai Tenkaichi 3. But I think Tenkaichi 2 is slept on. You get an actual overworld to fly around and explore similar to Budokai 3. There's so many more fights. Storymode wise I just think it's superior. But Budokai Tenkaichi 3 has the superior roster, storymode is more condensed. What do you think is Budokai Tenkaichi 2 or 3 the superior game?

I used to like the story mode in 2 a lot more, for the obvious reason that it had a LOT more fights. Almost every fight in the franchise. And flying around the world was awesome
But I've come to like the execution of 3 more, at elast when it comes to specific fights, with the mid fight character switches, story moments etc if only it was as long as the second one. A mix of the two would be perfect.
3 also has more costumes, that allow fights to actually look like they did in canon, iirc in 2 there were a few story mode fights with inaccurate costumes.
Gameplay wise I prefer 3, it's just a more improved and polished version of 2

Tenkaichi 2 has the better story, while Tenkaichi 3 is better at everything else (roster, stages, mechanics, etc.).

For me, BT2 all the way. It had a better story mode, a more rewarding feeling when unlocking characters and the international soundtrack had more variety than BT3.
Although I cannot deny that the battles in BT2 didn't get significantly faster than BT1 and the GT cutscenes looked a bit awkward due to the absence of some characters from that series (namely GT Goku and Vegeta.)

A little too late but yeah, I've been officially active in Kanzenshuu for ten years

BT2 has always had its fans who consider it the best of the original trilogy. I’m not one of them, but it does have certain features that BT3 removed that I can see why fans were disappointed by. The international release also has probably the best non-Yamamoto score of any Dragon Ball game. Lost Courage is a banger.
I can’t say I agree with the people who prefer the story mode over BT3, though. The BT2 story mode always struck me as very awkward in its presentation. Even the map it gives you to fly around on is pretty shallow compared to the one from Budokai 3.
