Dragon Ball has no canon.
Yes it does. The manga.
Of course; I was talking more about everything else, as that seems to be what the vast majority of canon debates revolve around.
Yeah, but people who talk about "canon" in DB talk about it like certain Doctor Who fans talk about canon, where they count EVER ancillary piece of expanded universe media even though the show largely ignores everything outside of most of Paul McGann's stuff in Big Finish. I personally go with the multiple timelines theory for DB because that's just what makes the most sense & certain things like the games have made that pretty explicit that that's what they're going with, especially since everything produced since Battle of Gods quietly ignores that GT exists since they're incompatible & Daima just completely ignored the fact that it's incompatible in multiple ways with the timeline presented in Super, plus Super & Daima completely ignore that they're incompatible with the ending of the manga. So, y'know...
I think at this point most fans think of these thinks the same way since eve a casual fan would be able to pick these things up even passively.
The epic tale of how Sean Schemmel blocked me on Twitter:
I tagged him in a thread explaining how his performance wasn't rerecorded when FUNi were redoing parts of the early Z dub for the Orange Bricks.
He thought I was misrepresenting his work by saying he wasn't in something he was in.
I explained how that wasn't the situation & did a bit of a sarcastic kinda thing involving the rerecordings FUNi did for the Z dub to show how stupid that was.
He said they didn't record him & not use his recordings.
Blocked & he deleted his response tweets to me.
???
Profit...?

Are we too old to enjoy new Dragon Ball movies/series?

Guys, I'm going to be straight with you. If you feel the show has gotten 'silly' ... it hasn't. You're just 'too old for this shit'. Seriously, 95% of the people in those boards do not fit the target demographic of the show, so don't expect the show to be 'everything you hoped for'. I'm referring to the people here who expect Super to be rich with dark moments, serious storytelling, meaningful characters etc etc. It won't. It's a show for kids. A show for kids being kids. Everyone in those boards has a manchild in him/her, clamoring to get out, and that's fine. But having unrealistic expectations (such as believing the show grew up alongside you) is naïve at best. Honestly, do you take seriously a story where the supposed God of Destruction halts his urges to blow up stuff in order to eat ice cream sundae? That's the show's silliness at full force, take it for what it is. The show hasn't matured one bit, so don't expect it too. Again, I'm not saying that's a bad thing. I'm saying *that* is DB and always will be.

I wonder if a GT DLC is that unlikely? I mean, it can always rely on SSJ4 popularity lol
This has been said by now multiple times.
The game pretty much JUST sticks to what Toriyama either wrote, or had a hand in. This means: The manga, the 2 Z TV specials (even though he rebooted Bardock in Minus, but there's barely anything there to adapt, so I get it), Battle of Gods, Resurrection F, & Daima. Toriyama had no involvement in GT outside of some early character & other designs. It'd be more likely for them to adapt the rest of Super, or the earlier arcs of the manga before the last tournament before the Saiyan Arc. I'd be very surprised if they did GT DLCs, tbh.

If they made an exception for Bardock, I don't see why they couldn't make an exception for GT as well. That one Bardock dlc single handledly disproves the point that they only do purely Toriyama stuff.

The entire mission statement of the game since before it came out was to be able to play the story from the manga & Z. I'm pretty sure they included Bardock specifically because it was a part of the original Z run, plus they needed content for the second round of DLCs & that was 1 they could pull from it. GT isn't particularly a series people remember fondly & it's not part of Z, so they're not bothering.
