Yes it does. The manga.
Of course; I was talking more about everything else, as that seems to be what the vast majority of canon debates revolve around.
Yeah, but people who talk about "canon" in DB talk about it like certain Doctor Who fans talk about canon, where they count EVER ancillary piece of expanded universe media even though the show largely ignores everything outside of most of Paul McGann's stuff in Big Finish. I personally go with the multiple timelines theory for DB because that's just what makes the most sense & certain things like the games have made that pretty explicit that that's what they're going with, especially since everything produced since Battle of Gods quietly ignores that GT exists since they're incompatible & Daima just completely ignored the fact that it's incompatible in multiple ways with the timeline presented in Super, plus Super & Daima completely ignore that they're incompatible with the ending of the manga. So, y'know...

I think at this point most fans think of these thinks the same way since eve a casual fan would be able to pick these things up even passively.
Only dubs that matter are DB, Kai, & Super. Nothing else.

I wonder if a GT DLC is that unlikely? I mean, it can always rely on SSJ4 popularity lol

This has been said by now multiple times.
The game pretty much JUST sticks to what Toriyama either wrote, or had a hand in. This means: The manga, the 2 Z TV specials (even though he rebooted Bardock in Minus, but there's barely anything there to adapt, so I get it), Battle of Gods, Resurrection F, & Daima. Toriyama had no involvement in GT outside of some early character & other designs. It'd be more likely for them to adapt the rest of Super, or the earlier arcs of the manga before the last tournament before the Saiyan Arc. I'd be very surprised if they did GT DLCs, tbh.

If they made an exception for Bardock, I don't see why they couldn't make an exception for GT as well. That one Bardock dlc single handledly disproves the point that they only do purely Toriyama stuff.

The entire mission statement of the game since before it came out was to be able to play the story from the manga & Z. I'm pretty sure they included Bardock specifically because it was a part of the original Z run, plus they needed content for the second round of DLCs & that was 1 they could pull from it. GT isn't particularly a series people remember fondly & it's not part of Z, so they're not bothering.

I like to believe there's a silent majority out there just dying to play a mini game of dancing with the Para Para Brothers. 8)

Think it'd be perfect for them to release it at the hype of the Moro anime adaptation

I think it'd also be perfect for the game to end on Broly because Goku tells Broly "call me Kakarot"

Although I would prefer a game that covered Goku's earlier adventured from Pilaf to King Piccolo, I think a Super-focused game is far more likely.

I'm not gonna lie, I'd actually love a Super-focused game. As much as Z's content didn't entirely lend too well to an Action RPG, I think Super's could. Assuming they start from Battle of Gods & go up to at least the Tournament of Power in the base game, I think that they could do very well. If they hone in on the more serialized elements that Toriyama seeded in the arcs & either change or introduce some new things to make the storytelling flow better, I think it could be very fun. Do what Sparking Zero did, but to an even BIGGER extent.

If it's true, then I suppose this is more likely coming in 2029 only, I highly doubt it for a 2028 release.
I think the Super arcs are just too short to justify a game based on them that can be as lengthy as Z Kakarot (base), at least if it ends at the ToP or Broly. Well it's a good timing anyway, as the serialization of Super in animation is returning, but we don't know when Super Kai is going to end, nor when the Moro arc in anime will start, so we could expect this arc to be in the base game at least after it ends at some point of 2029 I think.

Or, they could do what I think is more likely, which is already developing the Moro arc prior to the game's release, to release it as DLC only.

Yes, the tactic that is very common nowadays of releasing the game unfinished, and the rest of content that was supposed to be in the base game is locked behind paid DLC!

Mark my words!

Take this with a sea amount of salt, but there's a rumor going around that the current game will get one more season pass to wrap things up before they move onto the second game; a GT focused season pass.

I'm kinda a bit confused on what a Kakarot 2 would even be? Like it makes sense to just keep at the original game, and just fill it with a bunch of content from across the franchise.

In regards to GT: I think when I was young, absolutely the vitriol was there in the community for GT. Helped in no small part thanks to Funimation's disastrous handling of (step into the dragon!) GT. But I think overtime that anger has ebbed away to some level of nostalgia. People acknowledge that GT is a lesser work, but they are fond of specific aspects of the anime, which is likely why it keeps popping up within the franchise. I personally love the way the anime looks, and I think Dan Dan is the second best OP across the entire franchise.

So if they did do a GT focused DLC, I don't think too many people would complain.

Super currently has 9 story arcs, with likely more to come once the anime reaches Granola, so there's definitely enough material for a new game.

I had the opposite experience; it's thanks to Funimation's decision to start with Baby that played a large part in why I like it; I can't imagine starting with those terrible Black Star episodes and still viewing it positively.

I would be very happy to see it happen, as GT's length isn't long enough to justify it getting its own game, but just short enough to squeeze into DLC.

A GT DLC would go a long way if done properly.

Kami's place is already there, you start like Kakarot but instead of Piccolo, Goku is sparring with Uub. Then the Pilaf cutscene, the aftermath of the wish, and we move on to a few new planets. Immega (Redjic), then cutscenes for the boring planets, then Ruudo's planet, M2 and Myu's lab. Maybe some silly little planet post-Myu's lab.
Then back to Earth, hopefully THERE IS NO SUGOKU HELL. Followed by the creation of the Tsufuru planet, I'd skip the TB, really.

The S-17 arc has a lot to offer, a Hell stage where Goku fights Freeza and Cell; Vegeta vs Nappa, then vs 17; Z-senshi vs all dead villains (this sounds pretty fun); and then the S-17 fight that happens across three different stages (does Kakarot have any night stages?)

Then the last arc, which can have several stages and the epilogue could be Goku Jr. vs Vegeta Jr.

Sounds, if done faithfully, that it'd be a huge DLC. Maybe split it into 3 DLCS, one for each arc.

I think you could squeeze everything into 2 parts; the first part split between Planet M2 and Baby, while the second part between Super 17 and the Shadow Dragons, as well as the epilogue you mentioned.

The thing about a GT DLC is, why would they bother? GT is still seen as the weakest entry into the franchise when it comes to the shows.

Z is seen by a lot of fans as the best of the shows, OG DB gets lost in the shuffle because too many people skip it despite it coming out BEFORE Z but still gets respect, & Super is seen as a step down from Z, but a major step up from GT. It makes more sense to adapt Super & its associated movies. GT also is the series with the least amount of Troiyama involvement (literally just some early designs & an approval of the storyline they initially planned out). This tracks with the fact that they adapted the last 4 arcs of the manga/Z, Battle of Gods, Resurrection F, the Trunks Special (the anime version, but still based off the bonus chapter & even took ideas from the Super manga), the Bardock special (not written by Toriyama, but was given his seal of approval & a reference in the manga), the 23rd World Tournament arc, & Daima (which takes place in an alternate timeline, but the story was directly written by Toriyama). Because of its recency, popularity, & the fact that they haven't adapted most of it yet, the only real direction to go would be to adapt the rest of Super, especially to capitalize on the revival of the Super anime coming.
Only dubs that matter are DB, Kai, & Super. Nothing else.
