The Municipality of San Antonio from Peru has informed on their Facebook page that "Z Park" was conceived with the intention to boost tourism in the area and the objective of family entertainment.

Here are some photos:
What are your thoughts about this, guys? Do you want to go someday?
A little too late but yeah, I've been officially active in Kanzenshuu for ten years :)

I'd love to go, and Peru would be a far more desirable location than Saudi Arabia.

One thing I don't understand is why it has to be called "Z Park"? Wouldn't the organizers want to appeal to fans of the entire franchise (not to mention Latin America didn't skip 140 episodes of the original series before Z). I also assume with the Super Saiyan Blue statues the park is being built with Super fans in mind too at least.

Another thing that would be neat is with global superstars like The Weeknd coming out as fans of the franchise recently I hope someone like him would be willing to perform at the opening ceremony for one of these parks. Although that may be out of the question due to budget. And yes I suspect there are more celebrity Dragon Ball fans out there we're not aware of yet.
Do you have any info about international non-English broadcasts about the Dragon Ball anime or manga translations/editions? Please message me. Researching for a future book with Dragon Ball scholar Derek Padula will be writing

I personally think it is great that is being built in Peru. It is like a second home to me since I've got family there (My mom is Peruvian) and I've been there twice for vacation.

My uncle Richard (He loves Dragon Ball a lot) must be in shock right now

I guess they thought "Dragon Ball Park" or "Dragon Park" would be generic, so they came up with a name that could still be associated to the franchise.

Well isn't Z the most popular DB brand, even in countries that got the original DB first?

Agree that would rather visit Peru than Saudi Arabia.

I wonder what kind of rides it's gonna have. It doesn't have to be a big park to be fun. The DB zone in Tokyo's Sunshine City's mall is pretty small but the cast costumes, atmosphere and recreated props from the show make it a great experience.

I also wonder when we're gonna hear more about the DB theme park in Saudi Arabia, since that seems to be higher budget and was announced two years ago. Not to mention that that region seems like it's becoming a great place to go for theme park fans. There already is an amazing WB/DC theme park, Disney is building a park there and this week there was also a Harry Potter park announced. Stiff competition could mean that the DB park will needs to up their game.

I wonder if this is licensed by Toei Animation.

In Mexico we have had fairs themed as Dragon Ball and mechanic games but it was bootleg, and not very expensive stuff. I wonder if they plan to charge as much as SixFlags or Disneyland...

It kinda surprised me we didn't see any DB theme park attempt in the USA. Since Universal Studios Japan already did stuff with One Piece/DB etc., it would be a small step to implement it in the USA. US Hollywood does OP now but its strange we haven't seen anything DB related.

Heck, even a DB theme park would not have have been odd, considering how long DBZ has been hot in the USA now. I can imagine it being too expensive for places like New York and that competition would kill it in Florida, but a fairly sized park, like the Six Flags parks, would fit in states like Kansas and Texas.

Technically the movies of BoG and RoF are called Dragon Ball Z, they are not called Dragon Ball Super. So technically SSG and SSB counts as DBZ. Now UI and UE counts as DBS forms.

I guess this shows how popular Dragon Ball Z is compared to Dragon Ball Super.

France In Talks For €1 Billion ‘Dragon Ball’ Theme Park Near Paris

Two years after unveiling its plans for the world’s first Dragon Ball Theme Park, Saudi Arabia’s Qiddiya Investment Company is already in talks with France to create a second one.

According to Politico, President Emmanuel Macron’s office is in talks with the company, Saudi investors, and several local and regional French institutions to bring the theme park to the site of the defunct Mirapolis park, 20 miles northwest of Paris.
Though details have not yet been made public, the deal could involve an investment of more than €1 billion by Saudi Arabia as part of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s Vision 2030 plan.

The previously announced Saudi Arabian Dragon Ball project, which is somewhat larger, is already under construction in Saudi Arabia’s entertainment hub, Qiddiya City. It will feature more than 30 attractions based on Dragon Ball characters and iconography, including a 230-foot-tall statue of Shenron housing a roller coaster.

I wonder if it will come true but it's interesting. I guess Saudi Arabia has a lot of confidence in their own DB theme park and looking for more. That being said, France already has some very good theme parks so competition there will be tough.

mmm.... so you are posting news about France here instead of opening a new post about it?

Ok...

I am still not sure if a DB theme Park is necessary or profitable. And honestly, if a country should have a DB theme park it should be Japan. If they have not done it, it means it might not be that good of an idea ... Keeping those places is expensive and economy is very shaky right now. Having said that, of course I would go. And they should have Chinese and Japanese restaurants, so fans can stay and eat a Genkidama Giant Rice Ball and an Onigiri Zenkai power flavor or whatever. Supermario fans have that, harry potter fans have that, we can have that.

THIS is absolutely freakin AWESOME!!!!!
🔥🔥👏🤩👏🔥🔥
Although roller coasters 🎢 scare me to death I would still love to see it one day eventually or just watch videos of people enjoying it on YouTube as I feel like that is the next best thing to experiencing it yourself if you can’t go for whatever reason

I guarantee that there will probably be life size figures of 17 and 18 on the front coaster car joy riding to their heart’s content
Let’s just hope the 18 statue if there is one isn’t kissed, fondled , and groped so much to the point that it starts to fade out
Same with any of the other female character statues if they are made
Who knows how many secret closet Roshi like people there are 😬
Heck even the male character statues too are not gonna be safe from the extreme thirsty fan girls (kidding just kidding)

Anyway besides all the fun rides it would awesome if there was a DBZ themed restaurant there with all the food from the show on the menu
I always thought most of the food in DBZ looked absolutely freakin delicious !!!
It even makes me hungry sometimes just looking at it and watching Goku stuff his face haha 😆

Also is DBZ really THAT popular in Peru 🇵🇪???
I’m just curious if it’s as popular as in the USA 🇺🇸 or its native Japan 🇯🇵

I think space may be an issue in Japan as well. There is the cramped, small indoors Jump theme park in Ikebukuro, which shows that a DB park with theming could work. However, a full on theme park in an easy to access location, with Tokyo or Osaka being the logical picks, seems a bit harder to realize. There have collabs with Universal Studio Japan for DB events and a 4D movie. I would think that as far as theme park presence in Japan, USJ seems like the way to go. They have the money, the connections and the space.
