I was thinking about this.
The infamous scene where Trunks mentions #19 and #20 to Goku, if it were removed and he just mentioned androids in another manga release, how much would that matter? Is it a good or bad thing, on principle? It's editing out a plot hole, but going against the original portrayal.
How much should the original be preserved in re-releases?
Re: How much should the original be preserved in re-releases?
I think that if they kept JUMP recreations in print and then sold the smaller tankoubon for general audiences it wouldn't be that big a deal if the latter fixed continuity issues, i.e. Gohan being 3 years old when hebwas first introduced or the issue with the Artificial Humans and Trunks.

Re: How much should the original be preserved in re-releases?
I think it depends on the purpose of the re-release, and the kanzenban — with its new covers, condensed format, and updated ending — was the perfect place to do some of this stuff, above and beyond what they already did.
That said / in fact, they already did some (above and beyond some already made in the tankobon, like Gohan and Kuririn's exchange in chapter 213). For example, there's a chapter title that was updated/corrected in the kanzenban that was recently brought up here, but it wasn't changed back over in the tankobon and remains written that way to this day with reprints.
There are tons of little changes littered like this already across the two different main formats here, but none of them are super consistent or to each other (see also: Soba / Shuu), and none really went "all the way" with what "could" (should?) have been done with text adjustments and such.
But now without Toriyama around, I wouldn't want anything else to be done -- what's done is done, what is is, and what will be should forever be as is. It's no-one else's place to make any adjustments to that work, chapters 1-519, in any way. We lost that chance when we lost him.

They did fix certain issues in the collected editions, so fixing more wouldn't be a new thing. Personally, I don't care if it's minor issues, but I wouldn't want entire plot points to be changed to fit in with the newer stories for example.
