Dragon Ball X LEGO Collaboration Announced

Lego's Japanese account posted a video teasing a collaboration with Dragon Ball.

Curiously, the announcement used the logo of the original anime instead of the Z or Super logos.

I feel like this was already known like long ago
Was this leaked or something or did I dream up a DB x Lego collaboration?

LEGO has officially revealed the highly anticipated LEGO Dragon Ball set with Dragon Ball: Shenron & Goku (11390). Releasing on November 1, the set has 1,764 pieces and will retail for $179.99/139.99€/£129.99. The set features a fully summoned Shenron in all its glory perched on a display stand witih the seven Dragon Balls. There’s also a Kid Goku minifigure riding on the Kintoun aka Flying Nimbus.

No wristbands seems like an oversight.
It would be awesome and cost not too much to include a GT Goku figure so you can have the ending to GT as well, with him on the dragon.

I imagine the wristbands wouldn’t be too hard to paint on.

It's great that they chose to use Kid Goku for the first Lego Dragon Ball set instead of the usual Z or DBS design.

It's cool that this is a thing. Finally. Overall, the design of Shenlong looks... fine.

I think a Goku minifig looks solid, aside from the wristbands. The face print looks fairly generic. But I think that's par for the course for a lot of brands, and I am very ignorant when it comes to the costs in producing these sets.

Posted about it a while ago when it was leaked. Also, DBZ Goku fig got leaked recently and there will be many DBZ sets covering the Saiyan and Freeza arcs next year :)

Not really a fan of those faces, but seen video with the designer and it’s pretty much Lego not really emulating OG artstyle, but still keeping it Lego.

Ten-year-old me would have gone CRAZY for this, but these days I'm just not into LEGO anymore. Glad it exists, though.

For MSRP $180, I would much rather put that toward a couple of SH Figures or statues.

I saw it at my local SAMS club at 2400 mexican pesos. Google says it is the equivalent to 130 american dollars... it is a little bit out of budget. I can buy food for a family of four that would last 4 days with that money and with today's economy I can't afford it. But I would love to have it.

It looks very badass and you can have it on your desk at your room, living room, kitchen or the ideal place in my opinion is an office. Remember those Doctor's offices that had dolphines, or eagles, owls, etc. when we were kids? Well, it is time for our generation to bring Sheng Long to the table. Literally. Anyone with a cubicule/desk who loves dragon ball and can afford it should get one.

And I think they should also release a mini version of the figurine, likw the nano bricks. I have one SSJ Goku and they are so much fun to assamble and easy to keep around and show it around.

To be honest, even tho I have just one kid, do collect Lego, I can't justify and afford most of the 18+ sets either, even tho I am earning well beyond average in my country. Therefore collecting just Batmobiles. Living in Czechia is basically earning half of what your neighbors in Germany do, but with german pricing combined with working in creative industry, which has low value perception everywhere.
Don't wanna compare to anyone, but have to say, that I'll support anyone that says, Lego is expensive, because it f***ing is expensive.

I am also bit of a chronic collector, as I can imagine getting the Shenron and then the rumored Kame House comes out, overdesigned and overpriced for adults with another 8 sets that are rumored... Damn! Still less painful to look at the images of product, than owning part of the catalogue and being unable to get the rest for me.

Also bit bummed about the Pokémon sets, as they feel kinda low effort and I feel that you pay just for the combo of the two IPs itself, Pokémon and Lego. IMHO Megablocks did a lot of Pokémon way better than what Lego does nowadays.

Anyways, it's cool that Lego and DB are official after so many years.
