I should add that the voice of kid Trunks was the only one that changed.TheRed259 wrote: Sat Sep 12, 2026 6:03 pm Goku Vs Vegeta (Castilian Spanish dub):

Re: Dragon Ball Daima Dub Releases Thread
Basically, they tried to get in touch with somebody at Toei to better understand the contract, what the clause actually meant, how long it lasted and discuss it, but they couldn't talk with anybody.TheRed259 wrote: Mon Sep 14, 2026 2:41 am Gianluca Iacono and Claudio Moneta talk about Toei Animation’s controversial clause:

They waited for a while, then they got told they've been replaced.
They warn others VAs about the precedent set by this kind of contract, seeing it as something limiting personal freedom.
Replying to someone that theorized they got the boot after asking for a raise: money has never been mentioned by neither party.
They'd love an official statement by Toei explaining the reasons behind all of this, and remind us that this happened in other countries as well.
"From two ex-Saiyans, goodbye, a big hug, and 8000... 9000 Kamehamehas to everyone, Big Bang Attacks to everyone, let's take it easy ok?"

It seems that 3Cat’s audience services department has confirmed they are actively pursuing the rights to the series in order to bring it to viewers dubbed in Catalan in 2027.

Huh, I turned out to be right about them moving the dub from France to Belgium.TheRed259 wrote: Sun Oct 18, 2026 10:25 am Goku Vs Vegeta (French dub):

I guess nobody in France accepted in respect for the original French cast or rejected Toei's stupid restrictions.
A little too late but yeah, I've been officially active in Kanzenshuu for ten years

I don't agree about Bulma's voice being, she's closer to the Japanese voice, but kuririn's close to DBZ for sure.TheRed259 wrote: Fri Oct 23, 2026 6:42 pm New clip:

INFORMATION regarding DAIMA
To clarify the situation and explain exactly why we have been replaced on the DAIMA series:
(I’ve been seeing all sorts of things being said on social media.)
We want to inform you that the conditions set by Toei did not allow us to continue practicing our profession freely—it restricted our freedom of expression and our relationship with you, our audience.
For example:
It became impossible for us to talk about your favorite characters.
We could no longer conduct interviews or create content without Toei’s authorization.
We could no longer attend conventions without their permission.
We were even expected to act as "convention police" on Toei’s behalf.
Masako Nozawa is 90 years old.
Why replace us in Europe!?
We waited two years for answers, only to be pressured into signing these new terms—as if it were merely a formality.
The conditions seemed preposterous—the kind of terms no actor could possibly agree to.
(Personally, I refused to audition for DAIMA.
Why would I need to audition? My voice and my performance haven’t changed.
Toei has 40 years’ worth of recordings featuring my voice and my acting...
If Toei didn’t like my voice or my performance—or both!?—
they should have replaced me a long time ago!)
We honestly didn’t think they would go through with a complete replacement (which is why we made that final-resort video to alert the public).
Our work isn’t limited solely to Dragon Ball.
The prospect of replacing actors to gain more control—potentially through the use of AI—
is deeply concerning to us!
AI is becoming increasingly widespread in voice acting, video games, music, and, more broadly, across all artistic and other professional fields. We are not mere pawns, and the continuation of this work resonates deeply with the audience.
We do not want any hatred directed—on social media or elsewhere—toward the Belgian cast.
We had hoped to carry the torch forward...
Perhaps a broadcaster will eventually want to make history by commissioning a true French version featuring the original team.
The decision to replace us is one thing...
But choosing to ignore the wishes of the audience is quite another...
Judging by their comments on social media, the majority of the audience feels slighted and betrayed.
Thank you so much for your support and kindness on social media.
With warmest regards,
From all of us!
