When in the timeline of Dragonball did these Movies come out

Sleeping Princess in Devil's castle, and Mystical Adventure? When in the time after what? Or before what?

They can't fit in. They're they're own stories, made to be separate from and additions to the anime. I haven't seen the first movie (Curse of the Blood Rubies), but the two you mentioned actually are made as if they're supposed to take place INSTEAD of what happened in the series.

Do you mean "when in the story do they fit," or "when were they released?"

Oh, come to think of it, he might have meant that.

Well, according to their Wiki articles, Sleeping Princess was released on July 18, 1987, and Mystical Adventure was released July 9, 1988. I guess someone else will have to figure out when the series was then.

If I were to make power levels for the movies from what principles would I follow if they are not traceable in a timeline scale of the series?

According to Kaznentai, Sleeping Princess was released during the Uranai Baba story arc (right after the five warriors show up) of the anime, and right before Tenshinhan uses the Kikoho in the manga.

For Mystical Adventure, it was released when Tenshinhan tried to use the Mafuba on Piccolo in the anime, and when Kami fought Piccolo in the manga.

I... I guess you'd base them on however powerful the heroes were at the points in the series the movies mirrored. Sleeping Princess started out right at the beginning of Goku and Kuririn's training under Roshi; the task he gave them replaced their mission to find a "Pichi Pichi Gal," which resulted in their meeting Lunch. Mystical Adventure takes place AFTER that training, and is supposed to mirror the 21st Tenka'ichi Budokai. But with Tenshinhan and Chaozu around, it might also be the 22nd. Up to you, I guess.

If you were wondering where in the series the movies fit in than I suggest you read this thread. Under each movie VegettoEX gives us a quick answer to where in the manga each movie would have taken place...as well as a ton of other pieces of useful and interesting information.

If you were wondering which episodes the movies were released between than you can just go to Daizenshuu EX's Movie Guide and find the exact date for when each movie premiered and then go to Wikpedia's DB/DBZ Episode Guide and find out when each of the episodes premiered in Japan. Then just fill in the movies and you will know when they premiered in comparison to the episodes.
