Episode #0140! VegettoEX and Meri review the new "Super Survivor" CD single. How do the new songs stack-up against some of the other (both new and old) DB songs? We also check out some news, August's releases, and give away the very CD we reviewed! Make sure you listen through to the end on this one! Referenced sites:
Go ahead and grab it. Big thanks to godofchaos for hosting the kinda nice *one-hundred-forty* episodes, now.

Whee! CD review! With lots of samples! And a contest winner!

Aww, shame I didn't win the contest. (BAWWWW) I enjoyed singing aloud immensely, though, and that's all that matters. :) (Lawl, did you like how I busted out into a completely random song out of nowhere? Cuz disbanded anisong bands are totally awesome you gaiz.) Congrats to the winner, whoever he or she may be.

I loooooooooooooove Super Survivor, it's officially been shoed into my set of classic DB songs.

Also, to further prove your point about how the songs all follow the same general format here is a video of the Burst Limit intro audio with the Budokai 3 visual. The timing is just a tad off in places but for the most part it fits http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qY_ivuQrNM4

Bah, my singing of Super Survivor didn't make the cut. :P

Oh, well. I stuck some background music against it and put it on YouTube.

Oddly enough the chorus didn't quite sync up.

Some good singing in that contest!

I wonder if the "cyborgs" the card game intro referred to was supposed to mean Mecha Freeza and/or Cyborg Tao Pai Pai.

Who did the last song? Was it a group, or a guy doing all of the parts by himself?
Umm... just call me Remy, already. :p

Woah, a music review that actually pertains to me! I dunno why, but even though I haven't played any of the DBZ fighting games, I got really hooked to the Burst Limit opening theme. And when I learned of an English version of the song, that just made me enjoy it even more (Engrish aside). I'll definitely be picking up the CD now (what with the whole not winning the contest thing :P). Which site would you recommend picking it up from? From the topic I made in the music section a while back, it looks like yesasia.com's a good choice, but I figured I should bring the question up again here.

... so what happened to some of those scans from the CCG, eh? I personally stopped playing CCGs after I realized I didn't have anyone to play the Pokemon game with (apparently, my peers preferred collecting them than attempting to learn the actual game), but new art is always cool.

I'm personally hoping that they'll use "Cyborg" for #16, 17, 18, and 19.

Awesome singing. I personally liked that last one. I'm also curious as to whether it was a joined effort or one person editing his voices together.
10-30 minutes have most likely passed between my clicking to comment and actually posting. Curse my habit of thinking how to word my posts for too long!

I'll let him out himself I'd he wants, but yeah, that last one is (I am mostly sure) just him doing multiple takes and editing it all together.

I know that I didn't get around to the CCG scans... will try to get a few up on the home page tonight.

Nice texting considering you wrote on an iPhone. But you forget to capitalize "me" (Nit-picking, sorry)

Good thing I heard the review first. The two new songs sound kind of bland and the 'Engrish' versions sound awful. 'Kiseki...' was the only song I was really interested in and it's a different version from the game. So, yeah. I most likely won't be picking this CD up.

Sorry if I sound overly negative, it's just that I'm not keen on spending £8 for one song.

Aww, guess I wasn't lucky enough to win another Daizenshuu EX contest, even with getting two entries. And now I have Super Survivor stuck in my head after listening to the podcast....I'm really diggin' that song!

Just for kicks, here's my audio entry: Ore wa Tokoton Tomaranai!
