Dragonball Movie Update! What is UP with this?

I wonder how many people will come away from this movie wondering where Vegeta was?

He was (at least at my high school) hugely popular.

I can't believe that there are people who don't know that there is a difference between Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z. That is probably going to cripple the movie more than anything. Kids walking away going "Why didn't he turn into a Super Saiyan ?"

Well, he might...

Wasn't it established that Piccolo will inform Goku of his Saiyan nature in this movie? Or was that from one of those old script drafts and might not still be true? But if he does, then they've got at least enough Z-stuff there to keep the people who don't know and/or care about the original series happy.

I hope he doesn't turn Super Saiyan or anything alluding to the transformation. If you ask me they've made quite a few good choices for this movie. They know the significance of the 4 star ball, they have the blue gi and the staff, Roshi is a pervert, Yamcha is still introduced in the desert. Clearly James Wong has at least read some of the manga so hopefully he had enough sense to not put transformation in the movie. HOPEFULLY!

Well, extended edition made the three films a grand total of 11 hours 23 minutes.

One of my complaints is Son actually returning feelings of love for Chi-Chi. I honest to God cannot remember if he ever did so in the Manga but in the Anime after he woke up from his little [non]-coma after his heart attack didn't they kiss? Or was that a dub only thing?

He just hugged her or something like that. I honestly don't think Chi Chi is going to be in the movie enough for the love thing t really be played up like that. Between looking for the Dragon Balls with Bulma and training with Roshi, I doubt Chi Chi is going to be there. Who knows....

I can only imagine Goku being "romantic" or "madly in love" if there were some outside force like hypnosis or a love potion behind it.

Sure he cares about Chi-Chi (obviously) but Goku doesn't seem one to act on those notions of shoujo manga romance.
Tamaki Suoh he is not.

I heard there was scene in which several of Piccolo's demon kids attack her and Goku fights them all by himself trying to protect her. That sounds kinda cool right ? I also heard about a scene where Goku is trying to eat a bunch of hot dogs but Chi Chi drags him away to watch her next fight. So maybe they have a sorta thing going on where Goku is just friendly towards her but she really likes him ?

I dunno, from what I've seen, Chi-Chi probably just had to fill him in on a few things, and then Goku probably was all up for "it." I mean shoot, they had Gohan barely a year after they got married. And I got a feeling Gohan and Piccolo got told to "go away and train for an hour or so" plenty of times during the period before the Androids' arrival. Goten being the eventual result of "mommy and daddy's alone time."

Goku may be naive and somewhat of a goofball, but he's not stupid. Once he picks up on how something works, he gets good at it. There's gotta be some reason why Chi-Chi puts up with him, and being a monster in the sack seems pretty high on the list of probabilities.

As for how it goes in the movie, I predict a --Chi-chi: "Hey big boy," Goku: "durrh, huh?"-- kind of thing going on. But once Goku "gets it," who knows what'll happen.

I see. So she spent like 10 years waiting for him. That's not something they can play on in this "movieverse" unless that universe has them growing up together so I guess in the movie shes gonna have to be...aggressive ?

Ah, I know what will happen: it will be just like DBZ movie 4! Piccolo will beat the snot out of Goku, Goku will go not-quite-Super Saiyan for a little while and turn the tide, Piccolo will become gigantic, and then they'll whistle him to death.
