Ya, I'm pretty sure that they came out with a poster of the cover art, but I haven't heard that they are in this release. :?

I think I saw it in TK's video toward the end.
The series doesn't start with the arrival of Raditz. Stop being lazy and watch Dragonball.

Well, if you check out Tanooki's video, you'll see a glimpse of the pull out poster. I also noticed that in the clip, it looks like they didn't translate the short panels where Vegeta claims to have finally "beat" Goku. What other stuff was left untranslated?

I thought I'd compare the translations in the picture Tanooki Kuribo posted to the translations I did over on Kanzentai.

Kanzentai's:
022 / 1986 WJ #37
Cover
________________________________________
You don't see many illustrations of Goku riding Kinto-Un that are drawn from a head-on view. It's a bit of a unique composition.

027 / 1986 WJ #12
Cover
________________________________________
Goku playing a video game; this might be because the Famicom had reached its boom. Incidentally, during this week the DragonBall anime began airing on television.
Viz's:
22 Weekly Jump, No.37, Cover
This is Goku riding his Kinto’un from the front. This piece has a rare composition that we do not see often in these illustrations.

27 Weekly Jump, No.12, Cover
Because Nintendo’s Famicom had become so popular, this shows Goku playing video games. Published the same week the anime debuted on TV.
It's interesting that they kept "Famicom" as-is, though they did add "Nintendo's" on so that those not so game-savvy would have some idea what it was.

So far I a m extremely pleased with VIZ's release of this, it is by far my favorite out of all of their products. Hopefully they kept this mentality of releasing things correctly for their Dragonball Collectors Edition manga releases.

I don't think we've even gotten confirmation that Viz is releasing the whole series this way, though. It's just the first volume in each series from everything I've read so far.

It's a tad disappointing that Viz didn't translate the voice bubbles in the Famicomic strip (see what I did there? Ha!) and the Gohan/Piccolo image, but other than that, this looks spectacular. The 19th can't get here fast enough, as far as I'm concerned.

There's a strip where Gohan and Piccolo are talking about Jump's anniversary, and the Kame-sennin photo album has some words. If they didn't translate the video game strip, they probably didn't do those either.

You can pre-order it. Amazon already has it in stock and even though I'm not an American, I'm sure one of your shops has it.

Wait, it's hardcover? Oh hell yes.

It looks like the translations were done spot on by Viz and they managed not to fuck anything up. I'll be picking it up soon!

Please release the rest of them now!

Wow, thanks a lot, Tanooki! even though I own the original Japanese version this seems like a worthy purchase! I like having the interview and image descriptions in the back in English.

So all the Mr. Satan related artwork is left untouched then?

Seems that way.

Tanooki, even though they left the various instances of "Satan" in, do they still refer to him as "Hercule" in the index?

For crying out loud, people. Learn to edit your quotes so the rest of us don't have to scroll for twenty minutes to reach the bottom of the page. It's getting REALLY bad lately.

I don't know how long it will take, since this is my first time buying from Amazon directly, but it shouldn't be too long. This book is in English.

Wow, I saw this like five years ago in Denmark. I think I remember wishing for this in the US. But the most of People didn't want it to come out or thought I would be a complete failure. But Wow, look at where we are!

Oh, I'm getting this tomorrow! Amazon's premium two day shipping!
