A silly little question...

Discussion, generally of an in-universe nature, regarding any aspect of the franchise (including movies, spin-offs, etc.) such as: techniques, character relationships, internal back-history, its universe, and more.

Don't forget: Lunch is a truck driver or whatever.

If she stayed with Ten, that could be how he's able to afford living.

I'm already quite familiar with the intrigate financial inner workings of this business driven Kids anime, but I was using the word "dollar" for convenience. Something about saying "multi billion zenie corporation" just doesn't sound right. :P

Only thing, Tenshinhan never showed any interest in Lunch, so he wouldn't be with her. He wasn't really even friends with her. He didn't even know that she had two personalities, given the look on his face when at the beginning of the Saiyajin Saga, she sneezed and changed back to her old gentle self.

Comas are your friend, just throw in a few to break up your sentence so it doesn't run on too much, see?

I don't know how much a coma will help, but I'll go ahead and suggest a comma as an alternative.

I thought that didn't look right somehow... But I don't think a coma could hurt. Either is good.

While we're at it: "intricate". I didn't want to point out since I hate people who nitpick humorous passages, but since someone else had already started...

Roshi would also have gotten money from that big-ass jewel Bulma stuck down her underwear (and I love how the English version makes a bit of an effort to hide the fact that Kuririn sniffs the thing with dialogue, but still dubs in him doing a big "sniff" noise so that no-one is in any doubt as to what the little perv is doing). That was worth several billion Zeni. Considering that he already seems to own his house, then several billion Zeni seems more than enough to keep him and Kuririn's family supported for years. It's not like they all own luxury ferries and football teams, is it?

Tien moved to Wisconson and became a porn industry tycoon.

You people know next to nothing about Dragonball. I mean REALLY.

Hmmm... I never thought of it, but how do most anime characters make a living? I mean, in things like Comic Party, the job(s) are a big part of the storyline, but how do most of the Cho-jins in Kinnikuman get money? Do they mooch off of the King?

That's not really just particular to anime though. Just how does Professor Utonium afford to look after three young girls when he seems to be home all the time, hmm?

I'd stick it in the same catagory as "how comes cartoon children never seem to go to school". It's bad enough for the Xaiolin guys, but Ash must be at least 4 years behind on his studies by now. And he wasn't the brightest of sparks to begin with...

I seem to recall a quote about how Pokemon kids just needed school until they were 10, and then could optionally leave to train Pokemon. Which explains why, in the game, every trainer is a fucking idiot. They're no harder to destroy than the wild Pokemon themselves, aside from the "no catching and no running" part.

I remember, when Pokemon first came out, wishing I could have the option of leaving skewl and training those crazy critters. Now, just add the non-virtual aspects of having to feed it like a pet, making it like you, and being able to survive camping in the wild in a forest thousands of miles from mommy, where you'll likely be mauled to death by a bear Pokemon after crying yourself to sleep.

All the stupid 10 year old school-leaving kids like Ash would be killed in a flash. God, my version of Pokemon rules.

B-kun's avatar is cool. It's all blurredness... erm, what was this topic about?

Okay, people talk about Goku and Chi-Chi stretching their Budokai winings, but exactly how much would the Son family really need to survive? Goku can catch all the food they eat (and Chi-Chi's dishes are all Mt. Paozu specialties, as per GT), and they all only have like 3 sets of clothing. Their bath is outdoors, and presumably wood-burning. They don't get a car until way way way later in the series. Pretty much all they've done is build a house, and Goku's 23rd annual Tenkaichi Budokai winnings would surely cover that. Plus, going by the anime, Gyu-mao (who is visiting all-the-time) has a place of importance or even leads his village, so one assumes he could've bankrolled his daughter and son-in-law until Gohan got his scholastics on years later.
SJ Dragonball Graphic Novel, Volume 9, page 60. That is all.

That quote was in the manga, I believe. In the anime (at least, the English version) all we get is "Pokemon trainers receive a Pokemon on their tenth birthday from sexy old-man Professor Oak".

Strange that every kid in Pokemon either seems to be a trainer, or working on a farm of some kind. Maybe they don't really have money in that world. Or maybe they all survive the same way Ash & co do...by scrounging the food off of everyone else.

Another bad side to being a trainer in the anime is some incompetant idiots might stalk you wherever you go. Restraining order against Team Rocket anyone? Ha. Ha. Ha.

Back on topic, after meeting with Mr. Satan, I'm assuming they all took #18's example and started to extort money from him.

I dunno. I can't see Goku being that nasty, Tenshinhan being that dishonourable, or Piccolo lowering himself to that level. Yamcha, maybe.
